We have some sad news to share today, as the official Wings Hauser page on social media has revealed that the prolific character actor passed away over the weekend at the age of 77. As the post reads, “Movie icon Wings Hauser took flight in the arms of his film & music partner, Cali Lili Hauser at their studio this weekend.“
Known for having one of the coolest names in cinema history, Wings Hauser was actually born Gerald Dwight Hauser on December 12, 1947. “Wings” was part of a stage name (Wings Livinryte) he used for a 1975 folk music album called Your Love Keeps Me Off the Streets, and he was credited as Wings Livinryte when he appeared on an episode of the TV series Cannon that same year. After that, he moved on to calling himself Wings Hauser.
Hauser made his screen debut with an uncredited appearance in the 1967 film First to Fight.

The 2000s and 2010s were a gold mine for police procedurals, and standing out among the bunch was Cold Case, a compelling fusion of nostalgia, twist-laden storylines, and often melancholic thematic heft. Premiering in 2003, the series dished up seven seasons of thoughtful drama and red-herring-rife thrills, using unique techniques to differentiate its past from its present. Amid staples like Law & Order, CSI, The Mentalist,Without a Trace, and the long-runningCriminal Minds, Cold Case remained true to the escapist formula cop show fans clamor for while balancing thematic depth in a compelling 45-minute mystery.

It remains almost impossible to believe that Chadwick Boseman, the man who would be Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is gone, even though it's been nearly five years since his tragic death from colon cancer. Boseman was only 43 years old when he died in the summer of 2020, and yet he'd left a permanent mark and legacy on the world of pop culture. The fact that he portrayed such an instantly beloved superhero played a huge part in crafting his legacy, of course, although Boseman's award-worthy performances in films like "42" (which paved the way for him to get the role of T'Challa) and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" went a long way towards proving that if he'd had the chance, he would have made an even bigger impact outside of the MCU thanks to his innate talent and charisma.

There's something about a British crime drama that can be so much more satisfying than its American counterpart. Perhaps it's the performances, often executed by trained thespians. Maybe it's their preference for season-long arcs, which offer variety and closure of American network procedurals while allowing room for larger-scale storytelling. I could be that everything just sounds cooler, smarter, and more intense in a British accent.

The following contains major spoilers from FBI Season 7, Episode 8, "Riptide," which debuted Tuesday, Dec. 17 on CBS.
FBI Season 7, Episode 8, "Riptide" has all the hallmarks of a midseason finale. It offers up plenty of action sequences, has an emotional subplot for one of the main characters, and concludes on a note meant to shock the audience. But the most interesting part of the hour is actually its casting choices, because the episode brings back someone from perhaps the most underrated TV crime drama ever.
"Riptide" starts out focusing on an international robbery crew, but pivots away from that into a story about police corruption. It has enough plot twists and turns to keep the audience on the edge of their seats and the acting is solid throughout. There are some aspects that the audience will have cause to debate and disagree with, but ultimately it pauses the Dick Wolf drama on a high note.

Police dramas were flourishing in the 1970s (and later parodied in the 1980s) thanks to "Dragnet" when television writer Robert L. Collins hit upon what counted as a genius notion at the tail end of the Richard M. Nixon administration: what if instead of "policeman," "policewoman?" NBC said "Show us," and Collins responded with the buzzy "Police Woman" starring Angie Dickinson as Sergeant Suzanne "Pepper" Anderson.
"Police Woman" was about as progressive as you could expect from an hour-long network drama in the '70s when it was rare for a drama of any genre to be headed up by a woman. Once a week, Dickinson struck a quasi-feminist figure as an ultra-capable officer of the law with a penchant for dressing in tight-fitting shirts in pants. At least once she went undercover in a swimsuit. And as she complained to the press years later, the writers liked to have...

One week after the release of Netflix’s Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey docuseries, the Boulder Police Department is responding to claims that it failed to properly investigate the 1996 murder of the 6-year-old pageant queen that remains unsolved nearly 30 years later.

With Scrubs seemingly on the verge of a comeback, the medical sitcom is almost sure to be short of a side character who appeared in 49 episodes, as the actor who played him has moved on to a completely different career. Despite the original cast and crew being vocal on the topic of a Scrubs revival, Disney has yet to greenlight the show's return. However, showrunner Bill Lawrence has stated that a deal to make more episodes of Scrubs is "so very close" to completion.
While most of the main cast is likely to return, one of the best side characters will, in all likelihood, be absent from the reunion. He was present in almost all nine seasons of Scrubs and had a surprisingly complete and artful story that also carried with it a darkly comedic sensibility. His roles outside the show are limited, and they ended suddenly in 2009 when he stepped away from acting altogether.

Nearly three decades ago, the world came across the devastating news of the death of the child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey at the age of only 6. After seven hours after her being reported missing, her body was found in the basement of her home at 755, 15th Street in Boulder, Colorado. That was when the world came crashing down on the Ramsey family.
Since then, there has been a lot of debate on how this case, which was later ruled out to be a homicide, took place. But more spotlight was on the child beauty queen’s parents, American beauty pageant winner Patricia Ann Ramsey aka Patsy Ramsey, and businessman John Ramsey. The pair have, since, been the center of a lot, staying the talk of the town for quite some time.
