Ace producer Dil Raju’s debut production venture, Dil was one of the biggest hits in Tollywood. Released in the year 2003, the film had Nithin play the lead role. After all these years, the producer and actor will be joining hands for a film. To be directed by the Shatamanam Bhavati fame director Satish Vegesna, the film will have Nithin playing the lead role.

The recently released Ganesh Acharya movie Hey Bro has definitely been appreciated for its music by the audience. The songs ‘Mera Gaana Baja De DJ’, ‘Birju’ and ‘Bulbul’ are climbing their way up the charts as we speak. The song video for ‘Birju’ features many Bollywood greats such as Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh. BollySpice brings you an exclusive interview with the Music Directors of Hey Bro ‘Nitz n Sony’ aka Nitin Arora and Sony Chandy. Read on to find out how they conceived the music of the film and learn about their ‘fairly’ unusual background before they became Music Directors in the Bollywood industry!

Congratulations on the success of the music of Hey Bro! Please share with us your journey so far in the Bollywood music industry.

Both: Both of us are self taught (and still learning!) musicians with no formal training or family background in music.

The music for ‘Purani Jeans’ was launched at a star studded event at at Hard rock Café, Mumbai on 16th April. An exclusive unplugged version of the song ‘Dil Aaj Kal’ sung by Sona Mohapatra was also unveiled.

Songstress Sona Mohapatra said, “I am in love with the Purani Jeans soundtrack which is an ode to the 90′s era of Desi pop-rock music. My version of ‘Dil Aaj Kal’ is especially close to my heart as it showcases my favourite flamenco guitar stylings & tells a story of Spring-Summer love with a dash of hormones!!”

Director Tanushri Chattrji Bassu, when asked to talk about her film, said, “It has been an absolutely wonderful journey and Ram Sampath has been a great companion. He has given us such lovely music and for a debut director to have this kind of music in a film is an absolute honour.

Hyderabad, Jan 13: Producer Dil Raju, who is ecstatic with the response to his Telugu action-thriller "Yevadu", said Monday that the film has turned out to be the biggest hit of his banner despite having a delayed release.

Raju has so far produced 16 films, including hits like "Bommarillu", "Dil" and "Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu", under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.

"Despite being postponed so many times, I'm extremely happy that our film has turned out to be a blockbuster. It has turned out to be the biggest hit of our banner which has so far produced 16 films," Raju told reporters here.

When you think of Hindi film music I bet that one of the first thoughts that comes to your mind is Sel aka Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The trio has been making the stars and us dance to their tunes in many a hit film. This year alone they scored big with the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara soundtrack. Rounding out the year they have revisited the world of Don. However, this time they went on a bit of different path for the music of Don 2. We caught up with Ehsaan to find out what went into not only the songs but also the background score for the highly anticipated film!

How do you decide which films you want to be a part of?

All depends. It could be the script, the director or the production house.

What was it like to step back into the world of Don?

Don is an exciting project to be involved with.

Compared with the hype surrounding Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One, his second and last release for the 2011, Don 2: The Chase Continues (Don 2) makes its entry with a whisper rather than bang. While Don: The Chase Begins Again (Don 1) had immense pressure on the makers to aesthetically re-create the yesteryear favourite, the sequel has not been subject to such expectations. Don 2 is an entirely new and different concept, opening the makers to a goldmine of creative opportunities. Arguably, this applies to the music directors, Shankar-Eshaan-Loy (Sel), more so than the reminder of the film’s cast and crew.

Don 2 sees Sel reprise their role as music directors while Javed Akhtar reprises his as lyricist. No surprises there as all Excel Entertainment ventures have featured the lyrical and musical combination of Sel and Javed Akhtar exclusively since their advent in 1999.
