The Twilight Saga features vampires as the protagonists, introducing human Bella Swan into the vampiric world through her romance with sparkly fan-favorite Edward Cullen. While Bella is welcomed warmly by the members of the Cullen family, later entries in TheTwilight Saga introduce vampires who are a lot less friendly. The least friendly group, the Volturi, entered the story in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. These powerful vampires ruled over vampiric society with an iron fist.

The Twilight Saga had its fair share of memorable moments on screen, but one star reveals an entire blooper reel dedicated entirely to Kristen Stewart's most hilarious outtakes. While viewers are used to seeing Stewart's portrayal of Bella Swan as brooding and intense, it seems that behind the scenes the actor had plenty of candid, unfiltered moments. The star, who has since moved on to critically acclaimed roles in films like Spencer and Love Lies Bleeding, has always been candid about her experiences in Twilight, and this blooper reel would only further showcase her fun and self-aware personality.
Twilight actors Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli, and Ashley Greene had a recent conversation with Collider at Indiana Comic Con, where Rathbone revealed the existence of an eight-minute Twilight blooper reel dedicated to Kristen Stewart's curse-filled outtakes that audiences will likely never get to see. Edward, Bella, and Jacob's love triangle in The Twilight Saga continues to be one of the most iconic romances of the century, but the franchise was not without its flaws. The fantasy series built a new world with supernatural creatures and its own rules, which was what pulled fans in at first glance. However, certain plot twists and events in the sagaturned fans off so much that they never looked back at the series again.
Some of these moments portrayed Bella in a rather sad light as she pined over Edward, which made fans lose interest as her perspective was the most important one in Twilight. Others, like the imprinting practice, made everyone uncomfortable, and this questionable tradition made viewers and readers quit the series for good. There were plenty of other directions that The Twilight Saga could have taken with these storylines.

The Twilight Saga is primarily known for the love triangle between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). However, despite the teenage melodrama in the story, the vibe behind the scenes was very different.
During an appearance at Indiana Comic Con, Jackson Rathbone said things often got very R-rated during filming. The production team even put together a special screening of a blooper reel featuring a montage of expletives used by Stewart every time she messed up her lines. "There was one time where they put out a special blooper screening. I think this is for Breaking Dawn or Eclipse, where it was just every time Kristen curses. It was like, when she's messing up her lines. It's like eight minutes long. It is amazing," he said via Collider.

The beloved vampire family continues to inspire fan discussions, memes, fan-fiction and even speculation about what their immortal lives would look like in the modern day. Many actors have explained that it's difficult to watch themselves on the big screen. Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga, has shared he used to always find something wrong with his performance.
However, in a new episode of his podcast, The Squeeze, which he hosts with his wife Tay Lautner, the actor revealed he rewatched the films. He and his wife revealed that their new "date night" routine involves watching films together, and that started with several big franchises, including Harry Potter. I’ll never forget the first time I dove into the Twilight Saga. It was one of those nights where the buzz was palpable, and it seemed like the universe was urging me to jump on the bandwagon. Everyone was talking about it—like it was the thing you had to do just to stay relevant. A time when Team Edward and Team Jacob were as hotly debated as Coke vs. Pepsi, and the mere mention of ‘Twilight’ could spark a passionate argument among your friends.
To be honest, I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. The entire saga left me with mixed feelings, like biting into a chocolate bar and realizing it’s been in the fridge a bit too long—still sweet, but just not quite right.

It's been almost two decades since Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart brought Edward Cullen and Bella Swan to life in the first Twilight Saga movie. Despite the passage of time, the film series still faces a lot of backlash from people who believe it destroyed the vampire genre.
Speaking to GQ Spain, Pattinson shared his feelings about the constant hate leveled at the 2008 movie. "I love that people keep telling me, 'Man, Twilight ruined the vampire genre,'" the actor said, before suggesting that it might be time for people to move past it. "Are you still stuck on that s**t? How can you be sad about something that happened almost 20 years ago? It's crazy," he added.

The Twilight Saga may have set a precedent for vampire romances, but the movies were a breeding ground for unhealthy relationship dynamics. From Bella and Edward's problematic relationship to supporting characters who did nothing for the narrative, the popular cult classic did not withstand the test of time. The growth associated with several characters, including their knack for making questionable choices, did not align with modern standards in certain aspects.
Whether it was Bella's overall attitude to handling a teenage affair or her mother being extremely naïve and irresponsible, it's difficult to pronounce the Twilight movies as anything more than a guilty pleasure indulgence. Having said that, fans would definitely agree that when it came to being utterly unbearable, some Twilight characters were ahead of the others.

12 years after her breakout role as Bella in The Twilight Saga came to an end, Kristen Stewart is returning to the vampire subgenre in her upcoming movie Flesh of the Gods. In Flesh of the Gods, Kristen Stewart will star alongside Oscar Isaac as a married vampire couple in L.A. in the '80s. Unlike The Twilight Saga, in which Bella only became a vampire at the very end of Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Flesh of the Gods will showcase Kristen Stewart as a powerful vampire from the beginning.

Twilight TV remake can do justice to the forgotten book Midnight Sun that complements the main saga. The animated format of the TV series allows for a deeper exploration of Edward's perspective. Using Midnight Sun can help the series avoid plot holes and enhance the understanding of Bella and Edward's relationship.
The upcoming Twilight TV remake is the perfect chance to do justice to one forgotten book from the saga that would improve Bella and Edward’s story. In 2005, Stephenie Meyer shared her unique vision of vampires and werewolves in her debut novel Twilight, the first entry in what would become a series of four books. The success of the Twilight book series led to its adaptation to film, which made the Twilight phenomenon even bigger, but it was also a controversial movie saga. Now, over a decade after the release of Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Twilight is being remade as a TV series.

The Twilight saga titles reflect Bella's emotional journey and the love triangle dynamics between her, Edward, and Jacob in each installment. Each title, from Twilight to Breaking Dawn, symbolizes Bella's growth and the challenges she faces in her relationships with vampires and werewolves. New Moon highlights Bella's darkest moments, Eclipse marks a turning point in her love triangle, and Breaking Dawn is the light at the end of her dark journey.

Twilight's sparkling vampire lore decision by Stephenie Meyer continues to be a divisive and oft-mocked aspect of the series. Even with the potential for animation, the jarring and cheesy appearance of the sparkling vampires may remain an issue. A Twilight remake should consider ditching the sparkling vampire element to make needed changes and appeal to a broader audience.
Even the proposed animated Twilight show can't fix (or even redeem) the silliest decision Stephenie Meyer made when writing her vampire novels. Lionsgate, the studio that holds the onscreen rights to Meyer's Twilight Saga, has been shopping around a new project: an animated series based in the Twilight universe. At a time when romantasy novels are having another surge in mainstream popularity, it's probably the best time to revive the ultra-popular vampire romance series. Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster Twilight franchise is heading to the small screen, and here are the details.
There was a time in the early 2010s when Twilight was just about the biggest film franchise around.
It comprises five films – 2008’s Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, 2009’s New Moon, directed by Chris Weitz, 2010’s Eclipse, directed by David Slade, and the two part finale Breaking Dawn, directed by Bill Condon and released in 2011 and 2012. Their success was such that two parody films were also released in quick succession, the much maligned Vampire’s Suck and Breaking Wind.
The films followed Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan as she becomes romantically involved with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and werewolf Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner. Which all leads to a battle with vampire coven The Volturi.

Lionsgate is expanding the “Twilight” franchise with a new animated series, Variety has confirmed.
Michael Burns, vice chairman of Lionsgate, shared the news during a Q&a at the Morgan Stanley media conference on Tuesday, revealing, “We’re going to go out with the ‘Twilight’ series, an animated series, I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that.”

For many years, vampires have been at the center of monster movies. Just the number of works based on Dracula alone is enough to keep a fan busy, and he's just one vampire. Albeit, Dracula is one of the most famous vampires in history, so, understandably, his story keeps getting retold. That said, while there are many vampire shows, movies, and more to choose from, many get repetitive. With the genre so flooded, it's hard to sift through the ocean to find the gems among the trash. And with works like Bram Stoker's dominating the genre, it can take quite a bit to stand out from the bloodsucking crowd.
Although vampires are often critiqued for being overdone, many stories represent how unique they can be. Some of them are cult classics in the making which take time to find their audience. Others became big hits and helped move the...

Adapted from the eponymous book series by Stephanie Meyer, The Twilight Saga tells the love story between a human named Bella Swan and a vampire named Edward Cullen, spreading the plot across five films. This post contains spoilers for the "Twilight" movies.
"Twilight" is a global phenomenon that warrants no introduction. Whether you love the five-part saga or love to dunk on it, the "Twilight" movies will be forever etched into public consciousness, as its complicated legacy within the context of young-adult fantasy simply cannot be ignored. In hindsight, "Twilight" gifted us with two astoundingly talented and diverse actors — Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who play Bella Swan and Edward Cullen respectively, and have cemented themselves as performers capable of introducing significant depth to their roles over the years.
The core premise of the "Twilight" movies is pretty simple. An awkward, reserved teenager, Bella, finds herself jammed in an uncharacteristic love triangle, her suitors being a 107-year vampire and a shape-shifting werewolf. Grander stakes are introduced eventually in the form of century-spanning vampire-werewolf rivalry, a rogue, vicious group of vampire newborns who want to watch the world burn,...

The Twilight films changed some key scenes from the books, such as Edward's vampire reveal, which was more dramatic in the movies than in the books. The Twilight books had better cars than the films portrayed, with the Cullens driving luxury cars like Aston Martin and Ferrari. The TV reboot could improve the representation of the cars. The films didn't delve into Alice's backstory, which is connected to an important character. The TV show reboot has the opportunity to focus on Alice Cullen's tragic backstory and set itself apart from the films.

Despite the studios' lack of faith, Twilight became a major box office success, surpassing expectations and earning over $400 million overall. The success of the Twilight franchise continued to escalate with each new sequel, with Breaking Dawn - Part 2 earning a massive $848.6 million. Despite criticism of the films' quality, Twilight's appeal to audiences looking for a supernatural love story made it a hit and paved the way for other young adult novels to be adapted.
Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has revealed how studios had very little faith in the movie, expecting it to make just $29 million during its entire theatrical run. The film adapts Stephenie Meyer's first book in The Twilight Saga, telling the budding love story of high school student Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen. It became a worldwide success, spawning four sequels that were box office hits.

“Childhood is not birth to a certain age,” Bella Swan intones in the opening moments of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. “The child is grown, and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies.” Although she’s quoting 20th century American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, Bella’s observation may very well apply to childish thoughts about the Twilight franchise too. For over a decade after the release of the final movie in the franchise, we can now admit the truth: the Twilight franchise isn’t about sparkly abstinence vampires, it isn’t about stilted dialogue or pasty, inarticulate heartthrobs.
It’s about the love between a wolf man and an infant.
To be clear, I say this not as a critique but as a praise. For all the hate that the series got throughout the period of its highest popularity, Twilight was never just...

It's been 15 years to the week since "Twilight" hit theaters and the world has never been the same. But how to best commemorate this momentous occasion? Tragically, a real-life game of vampire baseball is not on the menu. So how about instead watching "The Twilight Saga" at home and experiencing all its swooning supernatural, frequently campy, and often problematic yet always amusing romance in high-definition with a bevy of fresh behind-the-scenes features on the side?

Director David Yates faced the challenge of crafting a satisfying two-part split for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as the first part didn't have a third act. Part 1 was designed as a road movie to take the characters out of their safe place and test their growth, while Part 2 served as the climax and fireworks of the final confrontation. The natural split in the story allowed Part 2 to expand on character arcs and provide a satisfying conclusion to the beloved franchise.

Hollywood moviemaking has always been a numbers game, and right now the winning number appears to be two.
Zack Snyder is locking picture on part one of December’s Rebel Moon, his two-part space opera for Netflix. Christopher McQuarrie, the filmmaker behind Paramount and Skydance’s Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, Part One, retreated to a house in the northeast in recent months to edit what he’s shot so far of his follow-up. And once the SAG-AFTRA strike ends, Wicked filmmaker Jon M. Chu has just a few days left of principal photography on the first of his two Broadway adaptations. Then there’s Dune: Part Two (delayed by the strike until March), a sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (no release date in sight) and Kevin Costner’s two-part western Horizon, hitting theaters six weeks apart next summer.
These two-parters can serve both art and commerce, say those who work on them.

It seems Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer are still in the thick of wedding planning. Stewart announced the pair's engagement on SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show" in November 2021, and since then, we've been excited to hear what the super-cute couple have planned for their nuptials.
Naturally, we have a million questions. When will this event of the year take place (because we will clear our schedules to check those Insta Stories)? Will Stewart be wearing Chanel? Who are the lucky folks who will be on the guest list? Luckily, we already have the answers to some of those questions.
Even though Stewart has kept her romance with Meyer (and her past relationships in general) super private, it seems she's more willing to share details with the public now, and we're soaking it all up. After all, we've seen Stewart get married many times on the big screen - see:...

Filmmaker Sofia Coppola on her press tour for ‘Priscilla’ has touched upon two high-profile projects that fell by the wayside.
The first was the final ‘Twilight’ movie, ‘Breaking Dawn’ which Summit Entertainment split into two films that were released in 2011 and 2012 and grossed a combined $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office, reports Variety.
Coppola told Rolling Stone that her journey with the final ‘Twilight’ movie lasted only a single meeting. “We had one meeting, and it never went anywhere,” the director said, quoted by Variety. “I thought the whole imprinting-werewolf thing was weird. The baby. Too weird! But part of the earlier ‘Twilight’ could be done in an interesting way. I thought it’d be fun to do a teen-vampire romance, but the last one gets really far out.”

The epic conclusion of the Twilight Saga, titled Breaking Dawn, was split into two movies, as is the case with a lot of big franchises, despite being one large book. Breaking Dawn gives us the long-awaited marriage of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella’s pregnancy and subsequent birth of her and Edward’s daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy), and the subsequent tensions that arise between the Cullen’s and the Volturi because of it. And of course, Bella finally gets her wish of becoming a vampire after four installments of begging Edward to change her. But despite the benefit of having two movies to cover the book’s many events, there are still some very notable changes that were made from page to screen. Some are for the better, and some are for the worse, but they all culminate to create one incredible ending to the beloved Saga.

Sofia Coppola turned down the opportunity to direct Breaking Dawn because she found the concept of Jacob imprinting on Renesmee too bizarre and weird. Despite not directing Twilight, Sofia Coppola has amassed an impressive resume as a filmmaker, including the critically acclaimed Lost in Translation. Coppola briefly considered quitting filmmaking after the challenging shoot of Marie Antoinette.
Sofia Coppola thought Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was simply too bizarre. Coppola rose to stardom in Hollywood as both a director and an actress. But when she was offered the opportunity to helm The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Coppola couldn’t get past the way Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) imprinted on the newborn child of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). Coppola said in an interview with Rolling Stone (per EW):
We had one meeting, and it never went anywhere. I thought the whole imprinting-werewolf thing was weird. The baby.

One of the overarching threats in the Twilight Saga is the Volturi. The Volturi is the equivalent of royalty in the vampire world and is the largest and most powerful vampire coven. They enforce the laws and rules of the vampire world and help to protect the existence of vampires from getting outed to the human world. They’re a constant presence throughout the saga, but become a fully-fledged antagonist of sorts in Breaking Dawn, after getting misinformation about Bella and Edward’s daughter. But despite being one of the series’ big bad, they’re deeply fascinating and have roots that go back as far as 500 Ad, and have included some very familiar faces in its history.

The Twilight Saga gained immense popularity in the noughties and beyond for the pure fantasy that it was. Edward and Bella were a perfectly compelling couple with just the right amount of tension and romance. However, the friendships of Twilight are often overlooked by audiences in favor of its main love story.
Stephanie Meyer may not have made it the central focus of the story, but these platonic relationships were important to the story. Friendships like Alice and Bella's, and Jasper and Peter's were vital to the character design, shaping them and their motivations throughout every installment of the vampire fantasy. Many were also heartwarming, like Angela and Edward's quiet relationship.

Kristen Stewart wore contacts throughout the Twilight saga, both for her vampire look and to change her eye color to match Bella's description. The idea for Twilight originated from a dream Stephanie Meyer had about two people in a sunlit meadow, inspiring the iconic motif of the franchise. Robert Pattinson contributed to the Twilight soundtrack with his own songs and even composed and performed "Bella's Lullaby" on the piano.
The Twilight movies are littered with lesser-known, behind-the scenes stories that provide additional insight into the making of the films. Based on Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling book series, the Twilight saga follows Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart), a vampire and a human woman whose love puts them in constant danger. Despite mixed reception from critics and audiences, the series proved to a huge success, causing a massive boom in adaptations of YA literature and earning over $3 billion at the box office across five installments.

The Twilight Saga movies, based on Stephenie Meyer's novels, made a huge impact when they hit theaters – turning vampires from spooky to sparkly overnight in the pop culture imagination, and enthralling audiences worldwide. Despite commercial success, Twilight also drew widespread criticism over what many saw as a clichéd script, plus the romanticizing of controlling relationships and self-destructive behavior. The movies also left audiences with questions and gaps, with characters sometimes making puzzling decisions or having abilities that weren't fully explained.
Starring Kristen Stewart as human Bella Swan, Robert Pattinson as "vegetarian" vampire Edward Cullen, and Taylor Lautner as werewolf Jacob, Twilight gave its own take on the mythical creatures. The series provided plenty of its own lore over the course of five films, based on Meyer's four young adult volumes. The finale to a major film franchise is usually a very lucrative event, often earning more at the worldwide box office than any other installment in the series. As a result, movie studios have started splitting the final part of a popular franchise into two or more different films. While this can often work for a franchise that needs more installments, audiences can also view this move as a cheap cash grab.
Whether a movie series has a two-part finale or a franchise has greenlit separate features to conclude the story, several great sagas could have ended with just one movie. Popular movie franchises Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games have all suffered from this problem.

The Twilight Saga has stood strong in the entertainment world since the first movie hit the big screen in 2008. The Twilight franchise was one of the hottest, and most talked about franchises for five years. While many were enraptured by the fantasy world of vampires, werewolves, and love triangles, the series also had some scenes that hadn't aged well or were considered in bad taste, to begin with.
Here we will look at some of the more problematic scenes featured in the films and analyze how the upcoming television series can avoid making the same mistakes. We'll be focusing on scenes that feature sexual themes, as well as the romantic storylines that are featured throughout the series.
Bella & Edward's Coerced Marriage
Towards the end of The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), Bella has barely survived ordeals with evil vampires, a divide between supernatural creatures, and the judgment of the Volturi, a council of elderly vampires. Bella has decided that she wants Edward to turn her into a vampire, though Edward seems reluctant to do so.

Just as “Harry Potter” will get a TV remake and “The Hunger Games” will see a prequel, all the old YA franchises from the late aughts are suddenly new again. Now, the most (in)famous book series from that period may soon follow, with “Twilight.”
Sources confirmed to IndieWire that Lionsgate TV is in early development on a show based on “The Twilight Saga,” Stephenie Meyer’s four-book series about the romance between clumsy high schooler Bella and sadboi emo vampire Edward. It’s early days with no network or streamer attached to the the project, which would be the second adaptation after the film series that began in 2008 starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Meyer is expected to be involved in some capacity, and Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig will executive produce. Sinead Daly is attached to write the show, which may be a full remake or an offshot of the original story.
