As much as actor Harrison Ford has cemented his career playing fantastical protagonists — Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Dr. Richard Kimble (to a lesser extent) — the man is no stranger to stepping into the shoes of darker and grittier characters. There is 1986’s The Mosquito Coast and 2000’s What Lies Beneath, which both have him play someone evolving into a twisted and evil person by the movie’s end. More prominently though, 1982’s Blade Runner saw him play a cold and detached police officer who kills androids because of an ignorant social bias. If Ford has already proven that he could play anywhere on the character trait chart, why did he surprisingly bow out of playing private detective Scudder in 2014’s A Walk Among the Tombstones?

Every month, Netflix is making room for fresh content to entertain its over 300 million subscribers. Unfortunately, this means having to clear out certain titles that may be approaching a licensing agreement expiration. Netflix makes an adamant effort to stay on top of letting viewers know what will be available and unavailable on the platform, but it can be hard to keep track of what's leaving and arriving and when.
Finding a favorite movie or show on streaming can be a pain, and the imposed time constraints of finishing a series can limit enjoyment. Before the opportunity to catch up on a show or see a movie that may have been skipped upon its release is missed, here are the shows that should be at the forefront of the proverbial Netflix watch list.

But, unfortunately, spring doesn’t begin until March 20. So, while you wait out the weather, we recommend our favorite indoor activity: watching Netflix.

In a post-Taken world, Liam Neesonimmediately made himself a mainstay of action films for a more mature audience. He proved to be a pioneer in a new breed of bone-crunching thrillers, serving righteous justice as an appetizer for the more hyperreal pop art John Wick franchise. But unlike Keanu Reeves, who turned out to be tailor-made for the tongue-in-cheek balletic moves of John Wick, Neeson acquitted himself far better as a grizzled loner who isn't primed to be a fighter but only does so when all his other cards are played. He's a fine action star, but he really shines as lone wolf detectives braving cruel worlds, as shown in A Walk Among the Tombstones, a lean and mean piece of pulp made by one of the defining voices of neo-noir, Netflix's golden boy, Scott Frank.

2025 is in full swing, and with March just around the corner, it’s time for you to look ahead at the movies and series scheduled to depart Netflix throughout the month of March. The biggest notable TV series leaving is The Mindy Project, while hit films like Scooby-Doo and Love Again, among others, are also set to depart.
As always, Netflix’s library is constantly evolving. That means new titles are always on the way, but because Netflix licenses titles from big distributors, they’re not always on Netflix forever. When this license (or rental period) comes to an end, the movie or series leaves Netflix.
Note: This list will be constantly updated throughout February as we learn of more series and movies set to leave (typically 30 days before their departure). In the last few weeks of the month, Netflix...

While Liam Neeson might be into his 70s, he is still going strong, giving fans movies that still weave the same magic. When fans look back at his career, they will be hard pressed to choose which one is the best out of the lot.

Liam Neeson's airplane action thriller from the director of Carry-On has become a global Netflix hit. Though the Irish actor rose to prominence for his performance in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed Holocaust drama Schindler's List, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, Neeson redefined himself as an action star with the Taken movies. Some of his other action movies include The A-Team, The Grey, Wrath of the Titans, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Cold Pursuit.
Within the action genre, Neeson has collaborated with director Jaume Collet-Serra numerous times. To date, Neeson has starred in four films from the director – Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night, and The Commuter – all of which are action thrillers that received mixed reviews from critics, but were mostly box-office successes. Jaume Collet-Serra's latest action thriller is Netflix's Carry-On, which stars Taron Egerton as a Tsa agent who is blackmailed into allowing...

Beloved aged action hero Liam Neeson continues to demonstrate his particular set of skills...with mixed results. But, while some of his action movies may be middling (or less) thriller fare, the renowned actor returned to the genre once again to deliver something righteous in 2023’s In the Land of Saints and Sinners. And it's now finding success on Prime Video. Amid all the new and old movies that landed on the streaming platform at the start of the new year, action fans are turning to Neeson to get 2025 off to the right start.

Liam Neeson's name would certainly be towards the top of the list when listing the biggest action stars working today. Neeson is perhaps best known for the Taken movies, wherein he plays a father who is desperately looking for his kidnapped daughter. Taken is now a movie trilogy, which began in 2008 and concluded in 2014 with Taken 3. Taken was also later adapted into a 2017 TV series starring Clive Standen in Neeson's former role as Bryan Mills.
Taken is far from the only action film that Neeson has become known for, however. He also plays the villain Ra's Al Ghul in two films within Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, another hugely popular action franchise. Just this year, Neeson was in the action film Absolution, where he played an aging gangster who is trying to forgive himself for his past and restore relationships with his children, only to...

Liam Neeson may not have started out as an action star, but he is certainly considered one now. Though Neeson's '90s and early 2000s career did have a handful of action movies, including Rob Roy (1995), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and Batman Begins (2005), he was just as well known for non-action roles in projects like Schindler's List (1993) and Love Actually (2003). Neeson's career shifted, however, after the release of Taken in 2009.
Taken spawned two less successful sequels, but it also set Neeson down a unique action path. Neeson became the starring figure in a number of mid-budget action movies, with the films usually built around his casting. Notable entries in Neeson's action career include movies like Unknown (2011), The Grey (2011), Non-Stop (2014), A Walk Among the Tombstones (2014), Cold Pursuit (2019), The Ice Road (2021), and In the Land of Saints and Sinners (2023). Many Neeson action movies come and go with little fanfare, and such was the case for one 2015 film.

It’s been a good time recently to be a Liam Neeson fan with a Netflix subscription; one of his most underrated action movies, Run All Night, recently debuted on the platform and made a quick run to the top 10. However, along with this good news also comes the announcement that two other of Neeson’s movies, Cold Pursuit and Non-Stop, will both leave the streamer on December 31, leaving only Run All Night, A Walk Among the Tombstones, and Made in Italy as the only Liam Neeson movies remaining on Netflix. New streaming homes for Cold Pursuit and Non-Stop have not yet been announced, but both films earned a score of over 62% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, impressive considering reviewers are often harsher on action movies than many feel they should be.

A nine-year-old Liam Neeson movie that received mixed reviews from critics is finding newfound success on Netflix. Run All Night is currently #5 on Netflix's list of Top 10 Movies in the United States.
Neeson starred alongside Joel Kinnaman, Ed Harris and Common in Run All Night, a film about an ex-Irish mob hitman who is forced to kill the son of a mob boss and goes on the run with his own estranged son. Run All Night was released in 2015, grossing $71.6 million worldwide and earning mixed reviews from critics. The film has a 59% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the site's critics' consensus saying "Liam Neeson is in typically fine form, but Run All Night suffers from a convoluted plot and workmanlike execution."

The neo-noir action thriller 8 Million Ways to Die earned just 0% on Rotten Tomatoes despite an accomplished cast led by Jeff Bridges and Rosanna Arquette. The set was notoriously troubled, and, as the script had not been finalized by the time filming began, many of the actors needed to improvise their scenes. The film noir genre often mixes crime and romance, but critics found the pacing uneven, with neither of these plot elements working in a film that offered a dark look at the world of law enforcement.

On August 23rd, Lionsgate released a new version of The Crow onto the big screen (you can read our 6/10 review of the film at This Link and see how we thinks it compares to other Crow movies Here) – and since it turned out to be both a critical failure and a box office bomb, we knew it wasn’t going to end up having much of a theatrical run. Alex Proyas, of the 1994 classic The Crow (watch it Here), was never happy with the idea that Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders was going to be telling a new version of the story of The Crow with his recently released reboot – and Proyas never kept his feelings about the project to himself, taking every opportunity to mock and bash it on social media. The Crow reboot made its way out into the world last weekend and is proving to be both a critical failure and a box office bomb, which is just giving Proyas more opportunities to have fun at the movie’s expense on social media.
In the build-up to the reboot’s release, Proyas shared a screen shot of The Guardian’s review, which called the film “unfathomably awful.” Later, he commented, “Wow. The reviews are brutal.” And when the box office numbers came in,...

Lionsgate has released a new version of The Crow onto the big screen (you can read our 6/10 review of the film at This Link and see how we thinks it compares to other Crow movies Here) – and its opening weekend box office was so underwhelming, it’s probably not going to stick around in theatres for very long. So it’s no surprise to see that Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the film’s 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD releases, complete with an image of the 4K set, even though a home video release date hasn’t yet been announced. You can check out Amazon’s listing of the 4K right Here.

Lionsgate will be bringing a new version of The Crow to theatres tomorrow, August 23rd – and while we had previously been referring to this project as a remake, Lionsgate recently let it be known that this is not to be called a remake, but rather a new adaptation of the source material, the comic book series created by James O’Barr. That means it still focuses on a doomed relationship between characters named Eric and Shelly, played here by Bill Skarsgard (Boy Kills World) and singer FKA Twigs – and during an interview with Seasoned Bf, Twigs revealed that working on the film was therapeutic for her, allowing her to embrace her inner darkness again.
"I think people can think darkness is a bad thing but I don't see it like that. It's like a well, it's like a beautiful deep pool, it's a depth of character" – FKA Twigs shares how her...

The Crow: Brandon Lee’s stand-in Chad Stahelski supports the casting of Bill Skarsgard in the remake
Stuntman Chad Stahelski was close friends with actor Brandon Lee… and when Lee was killed in a tragic accident on the set of the 1994 version of The Crow, director Alex Proyas chose Stahelski to be Lee’s stand-in for the filming of scenes that still needed to be filmed involving Lee’s character Eric Draven. Lee’s face was then placed over Stahelski’s in post-production. Stahelski has gone on to become a director, taking the helm of each film in the John Wick franchise to date… and since he worked with Bill Skarsgard on John Wick: Chapter 4, it’s no surprise to hear that he supports the casting of Skarsgard in The Crow remake, which is set to reach theatres on August 23rd.
Commenting on Skarsgard’s performance in John Wick: Chapter 4, Stahelski told Esquire, “I think he’s my best villain ever.” As for his casting in The Crow,...

Lionsgate may have pushed the release date of The Crow remake back from June 7th to August 23rd yesterday, but they still promoted the film during their panel at CinemaCon today, showing attendees a new trailer. We don’t know when that trailer is going to be making its way online, but JoBlo’s own Lance Vlcek was in attendance and reports that the new trailer reveals more about the film’s story.
Writing from the panel, Lance said attendees were told this version of The Crow is “a complete re-imagining that is not meant to compete with the original. The Lionsgate rep made mention how the original graphic novel is different than the beloved movie and made a point that the trailer was divisive, but they want to tell this story for a new generation.” As for what was shown in the new trailer, Lance writes, “An afterlife way-station...

Plot: In 1974, an aging hitman (Liam Neeson) tries to leave his violent past behind and reinvent himself in a small, isolated town in Ireland. However, his good nature leads to him making a fateful decision that puts him in the crosshairs of an insane Ira assassin (Kerry Condon) and her cronies.
Review: I know what you’re thinking – another Liam Neeson action flick. Ho-hum. Normally, I’d be right there with you. While no one can deny he’s become the 21st century’s version of Charles Bronson, with him churning out a steady diet of B-level action flicks, not all of them are disposable in the way something like Blacklight, Honest Thief, Retribution and too many others are. Once in a while, he works with a really interesting director, such as on the beautifully photographed Marlowe by Neil Jordan. One of his better recent action flicks was definitely The Marksman,...

Liam Neeson has made quite a name for himself playing tough-as-nails badasses. He was in excellent form as the avenging father in the 2008 English/French action thriller Taken, where he sent chills through the collective spines of his audience when he told everyone about his "special set of skills" and that death was coming for those terrible men who kidnapped his 17-year-old daughter. Neeson exudes a tough guy naturalism that fits him like a tailored glove and audiences can't seem to get enough of it. Think of films like The Grey, where we watch him duke it out with a pack of wolves for 90 minutes, or A Walk Among the Tombstones, where the actor again takes up the mantle of a grizzled ass-kicker. It would seem that Neeson and crime-thriller films are a match made in neo-noir heaven. But it all had to start somewhere at some time. That time...

Update: If you’re wondering what original The Crow director Alex Proyas thought of the trailer for the remake, the answer is that he’s keeping most of his opinions to himself… but he has shared enough to confirm that his reaction wasn’t positive. Proyas took to social media to say, “‘Crow Wick’ Trailer? No comment.“
The original article follows:
Yesterday, a short teaser for the upcoming remake of The Crow dropped online with the promise that a full trailer would follow today – and, true to their word, Lionsgate has just unveiled that trailer. Skarsgard is joined in the cast by singer FKA twigs, who takes on the role of Shelly Webster, the love of Eric’s life. Danny Huston (Yellowstone) plays the lead villain.

After spending more than a decade in development hell, a remake of The Crow (watch it Here) has made its way through production and is set to receive a theatrical release, courtesy of Lionsgate, on June 7th. A couple weeks ago, we saw the first images of Bill Skarsgard and singer FKA twigs as the new versions of goth rocker Eric Draven and the love of his life, Shelly; images that didn’t go over well with original The Crow director Alex Proyas. Now we’ve been informed that a full trailer for the film will be released online tomorrow – and while we wait for that, a (very) short teaser has made its way online and can be seen in the embed above. In this teaser, we’re treated to the sight of Skarsgard writhing around in a thick liquid that’s presumably meant to be blood. And that’s it.

Yesterday, we saw the first images of what Bill Skarsgard of the It films is going to look like as goth rocker Eric Draven in director Rupert Sanders’ (Snow White and the Huntsman) remake of the 1994 classic The Crow (watch it Here). There weren’t a lot of positive reactions, with many fans comparing Skarsgard’s look – which Sanders said was a mixture of his own look in the ’90s, “when we were squat-raving in London,” with modern influences like Post Malone and Lil Peep – to Jared Leto’s poorly-received version of The Joker in Suicide Squad. One person who took to social media to blast the look of the new Eric Draven was Alex Proyas, who directed the ’94 version of The Crow.
Sharing one of the images, Proyas said, “Eric Draven’s having a bad hair day. Next reboot thanks.” In the comments, he continued to mock the look:...

In a recent New Yorker profile, Craig Mazin, who wrote The Last of Us and Chernobyl, calls Queen’s Gambit co-creator Scott Frank “one of the best screenwriters of all time.”
Long a known quantity for Get Shorty, Out of Sight, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Marley and Me, The Wolverine and Logan, Frank opens up to the magazine about his less-recognized work: The nearly 60 films he has worked on as a script doctor, earning at times $300,000 a week.
Among the films on that less-well-known list are, according to the piece, Saving Private Ryan, The Ring, Gravity, Night at the Museum, Unfaithful, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Night at the Museum and, says Frank, “a lot of the X-Men movies.” Which ones? “I don’t remember their titles,” he said.
“Ninety-percent of what I get called in on is character work,” Frank told The New Yorker.
