The season 3 finale of Invincible is now streaming on Prime Video, and following one of the most hellacious battles we've seen since the animated series premiered back in 2021, we took a trip to literal Hell for a post-credits scene that not even fans of the comic will have been expecting.
In the stinger, demonic detective Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown) - who we haven't seen since Cecil banished him back in the first season - summons a more powerful demon voiced by Evil Dead legend Bruce Campbell, and tells him about a "surface dweller" who may be able to restore his master to his former glory.
This sets up a season 4 storyline that didn't play out on the page, and could potentially see Mark Grayson journey to Hell to battle the Devil himself.

Invincible wrapped up its third season in typically violent fashion, with almost the entire episode dedicated to a vicious brawl between Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and a particularly powerful and bloodthirsty Viltrumite known as Conquest.
After almost 30 minutes of brutal battle, Mark is finally able to defeat his foe with some help from his brother Oliver (Christian Convery) and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). Invincible allows his Viltrumite side to manifest, smashing Conquest's skull in with his own head.
The villain certainly looks dead, but we then learn that Cecil (Walton Goggins) has preserved "the body" so he can be questioned about the movements of the Viltrum Empire.
"I think a Cecil interrogating Conquest scene, with Walton Goggins and Jeffrey Dean Morgan going head-to-head, that'd be a pretty cool, intense scene," creator Robert Kirkman tells EW. "But to put it more succinctly, I don't think Cecil would've gone to all the...

The season 3 finale of Invincible hits Prime Video this Thursday, and IGN has released a clip from the opening scene.
Last week's penultimate episode concluded with the arrival of a powerful and bloodthirsty (not exactly unusual for this race) Viltrumite known as Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who was appalled to see that Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) had not set about paving the way for the Viltrum invasion.
In this clip, Conquest makes it very clear that he has no intention of attempting to convince Mark that surrender is the best course of action for the people of Earth, as to him, "there is no greater pleasure than to feel the warmth of my fists drenched in blood."
"I was just thrilled to get to be a part of it and give Steven his chance at redemption," Morgan told EW in a recent interview "I was trying to be aware of just voice inflection.

Emmy nominee Theo James (The White Lotus) has opened up about Oz Perkins’ upcoming The Monkey movie, teasing viewers about what to expect from the newest Stephen King adaptation. In the horror comedy, James will be playing the dual role of Hal and Bill, twin brothers who begin witnessing gory deaths after uncovering their father’s cursed toy monkey.
During a recent interview with EW, James discussed Perkins’ vision for The Monkey movie, which he described as an R-rated family movie. "He wanted to make a family movie, but an R-rated one," James shared. "It's hyper dark, but also it has heart to it, and it's really funny." He continued, "Oz described it as the monkey on your back, literally and existentially. There is a literal monkey, a toy monkey, that's trying to f---ing massacre everyone. At the same time, it's a little bit of a dissection of family history and family trauma.

When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. If you went back in time to the year 2000 and told me that in 2023, one of my favorite new TV shows would be based on the "Twisted Metal" video games, I would have screamed at the top of my lungs, because time travel isn't real. But also, I would not have believed you, because the people in my life at that time who were most passionate about "Twisted Metal" were the human embodiment of a WWF promotional T-shirt that wished to be a real boy and that one scrawny goth kid in every grade that could randomly kick everyone's ass at the flexed arm hang in gym glass. And yet, the Peacock series is a total blast, and anyone smart enough to actually sit back and watch it will likely say the same. Unless they hate buff clowns driving ice cream trucks full of explosives or something.

The "Twisted Metal" live-action adaptation successfully balances an emotional story with the unhinged nature of the video game series. The inclusion of iconic game character Axel in the show raises logistical questions, but there is excitement about how it will be realized. The challenge of adapting Axel lies in the practicality of his exposed body, but outfitting him in Kevlar could be a solution.

Actor Thomas Haden Church believes that his return as Sandman in Spider-Man: No Way Home contributed to his casting as Agent Stone in Twisted Metal. Church sees similarities between Sandman and Agent Stone, both being complex characters shaped by their environment, and appreciates the comparison. In Twisted Metal, Church's character, Agent Stone, is a ruthless enforcer in a post-apocalyptic world, driven by a sense of justice and law, though his methods can be harsh.
Actor Thomas Haden Church says his role as the antagonist in Peacock's Twisted Metal series was most likely because of his recent return to the role of Sandman. In Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, released in 2007, Church played the supervillain Sandman, a foe to Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. In late 2021, Church reprised the role for the crossover film Spider-Man: No Way Home, returning alongside Maguire's incarnation of Spidey. An immense success, the film was still enjoying...

At the heart of the Twisted Metal videogames -- a chaotic vehicular combat series that's synonymous with Sony's PlayStation consoles -- is Sweet Tooth. The murderous clown is indicative of everything that makes the games stand out, a memorably horrifying but surprisingly silly figure with a massive body count to his name. Any adaptation of the franchise was going to have to nail the character, and luckily, the Peacock series chose a longtime fan to tackle the role.

Anthony Mackie, the star of Peacock's Twisted Metal show, got to do a few of his own stunts during the vehicular combat scenes.
Mackie was interviewed by Deadline about the bloody new action-comedy show that's based on the hit video game series. According to the actor, he filmed several stunts himself without a stuntperson, although this wasn't always possible during the show's more explosive scenes. “We had a great group of drivers, and because of that a lot of the stuff we were able to do practically," Mackie said. "I really got to drive 50 miles an hour around a mall with somebody chasing me. We really got to jump out of the front window and do all this crazy stuff, because our drivers were so talented. And some of the big stuff… when you see a car flying over a bridge, that wasn’t Anthony.”

Sweet Tooth on Netflix diverges from its darker comic source material, opting for beautiful visuals and a more optimistic tone, especially with the character of Gus. The Animal Army in the comics is a bloodthirsty cult, while in the show, they are a tech-savvy group led by Bear that aids Gus on his journey to find his mother. By changing the Animal Army and removing violent elements, the show maintains its tone and allows for more interaction between the characters while avoiding potential age rating issues.
The Animal Army Sweet Tooth introduces to the audience on Netflix is a decidedly whimsical one - but this is not what were they like in the comics. Sweet Tooth has been praised by viewers for its beautiful visuals and storytelling, with much acclaim also being directed towards the series protagonist, who comes in the form of a wide-eyed and optimistic human-deer hybrid named Gus.

The video game phenomenon Twisted Metal is getting the live-action treatment with Peacock's upcoming series, and Will Arnett brings something different to the table with his performance as the killer clown Sweet Tooth.
In the Twisted Metal series, Will Arnett provides the voice of Sweet Tooth while Aew's Samoa Joe portrays the iconic character. Speaking with /Film about the series before the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike, Arnett was asked about what's different with his Sweet Tooth compared to other evil clowns in pop culture, such as Pennywise from Stephen King's It. Arnett explains how Sweet Tooth is "above board" with how he terrifies people, but he's also notably much "funnier" than other killer clowns in movies and TV.

For the longest time, adapting video games into movies or television was an all but guaranteed disaster; films like "Postal," "Rampage," "Doom," and "Max Payne" were all met with widespread derision. But 2023 has provided a major turning point: Thanks to the enormous box-office success of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" and the massive acclaim for the HBO series "The Last of Us," video games are finally being looked at as a source for great stories.
That brings us to Peacock's "Twisted Metal." I've been playing video games my whole life, and if you were to ask me what games would make a great television series, "Twisted Metal" would be at the bottom of my list -- if it even appeared at all. That's not because they're bad games mind you, but they are significantly lacking any significant story. There's a pretense of one, but it's a franchise all about driving...

As a writer/director, making your first foray into feature filmmaking can be pretty goddamned terrifying. Any mistakes made in your screenplay will only amplify and congeal as they cascade through the production workflow—your lofty ideas imperiled at every turn by financial and logistical realities, not to mention the fact that every step of the process is designed to make you feel like an amateur, imposter and idiot. It’s been said of James Cameron that the Avatar filmmaker can step onto any set in any role and immediately do the job better than whoever was previously doing. Well… trust us: this is the exception.
In fact, most first-time feature auteurs are only qualified to be on set for one reason: they’re the only person in the world who knows what their movie looks and sounds like. But whatever the case, freshmen moviemakers can generally use all the help they can get.

The "Twisted Metal" video game series doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would work as a live-action TV show, but the folks over at Peacock gave it a shot and the first teaser trailer is here and ... it actually doesn't look bad! In fact, it looks like they're leaning hard into the nostalgia aspect of things, with a focus on the turn of the millennium. That's kind of genius, really, as the game series was at its peak around that era, with "Twisted Metal 4" releasing in 1999 and the seminal "Twisted Metal Black" releasing in 2001, giving an entire generation of kids and teens a love for the rowdy road-rage of these combat car games. I remember playing "Twisted Metal 4" in my friend's basement after school, banging our heads to the heavy metal soundtrack and laughing at the ridiculous characters, and somehow this trailer has captured that exact energy. The premiere (all eight episodes are now available to stream on Netflix) begins with Birdie as she hunts for something in a frozen tundra. She hikes through snow and freezing temps to find a crevasse near some mountains she has stenciled on a map. Using a rope, she spelunks down between glaciers to find a pirate ship filled with purple flowers. But she also finds something of extreme importance: the journal of one Dr.

Season one of “Sweet Tooth,” which debuted nearly two years ago during the height of Covid, was a revelation at the time. As the natural world seemed to be going to Hell, this show offered hope, joy, and love, even though it is set during a post-apocalypse where a deadly virus wiped out most of humanity. In fact, the most exciting aspect of the introductory story wasn’t the post-apocalyptic setting or the race to find a cure for “the Sick.” It’s the multiple scenes where Gus, aka Sweet Tooth, the young deer-human hybrid kid, is discovering his love of candy and developing his found-family relationships with Bear and Big Man.
