Fun Way To Pass The Time!

I saw this film in Santa Fe and loved it, despite the fact that there was no nudity in it. I have to admit I went to this movie hoping to see the Dahm girls naked and was sadly let down on that end. So I can see why a 16 year old boy would hate this movie. But the filmmakers were very careful not to become what they were making fun of. They suckered me into seeing this film but I'm glad they did.

The dialogue was great. And for a low budget film the production value was decent. I pretty much laughed from the first moments to the end especially the opening credits and the audition scene. The acting for the most part was strong with the characters of Oded and Joey stealing the movie.

There's not a deep plot in this film. Basically it's a silly comedy with several inspired jabs at the male dominated Hollywood elite. It's more about relationships and coming of age rather then action. It keeps you entertained and laughing and is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. It reminds me of a Kevin Smith film without the vulgarity. I would highly recommend this movie to everyone except 16 year old boys who want to see the nudity or adult men who can't get over themselves.

The next Cult Classic!

It's hard to believe this is the first script written by Steven and Whitney Boe. The characters are all so enjoyable to watch and each one has it's own voice - a rarity found in first time screenwriters.

"Nudity Required" is your basic buddy film starring Keith Andreen and Roberto Raad as Todd and Oded, two losers who work in a bowling alley. The Boes add in the supporting character of Joey (played by Whitney Leigh) to offset the "boys club" mentality. It's great to see a female character on the same level as the two male leads. She doesn't sleep with them, she doesn't get rescued by them and she's always the smartest one in the room, even if she has a mouth that would shame a sailor.

The fact that there is no actual nudity in the film is a tribute to the filmmakers who did not want to become what they're making of - the men who make these types of films in real life. We've seen enough of these low level T&A films and as they have a place in the lives of horny young boys (who could care less about plot and structure - as Oded states, "They just fast forward to the next titty shot") it's refreshing to see a young 20's genre film that has a plot and structure! The dialogue (although a bit wordy at times) is witty, hysterical, and makes sense to the characters speaking them. The overall tone is reminiscent of Kevin Smith without the crudity and this just might turn into a cult classic one day just like "Clerks."

A dead-end comedy.

A comedy about two guys who work at a bowling alley in Bremerton, WA. Todd's girlfriend dumped him after five years to pursue an acting career; Oded only gets laid ever eighty-eight days, but dreams of a more active sex life. They decide to make a movie.

I saw this film at the Seattle Intl. Film Festival last year, and I knew going in there wasn't going to be a great deal of actual nudity, based on the title -- read: irony. But, none whatsoever?? The guys keep saying "it's not porn!" as though they're defending some greater artistic aspect of this movie they're struggling to get made, even though there is _some_ adult content. But, there's no adult content. None at all. They keep talking about nude scenes to film and scenes with lesbian sex, but, you guessed it -- never happens. So, all we have is two affable guys producing some low-budget flick we couldn't care less about.

NUDITY REQUIRED opens strongly, with some good CLERKS-esque dialogue. But, it runs out of steam, and is tedious for well over an hour.

I did like the men's casting sequence, with a girl named Joey (local cutie Whitney Leigh) all over them. But, it's not enough.
