Gamescom 2024 was a busy time, where gamers got first looks at huge games, developers showcased what they had on offer, and thousands of interviews, meetings, and discussions took place that could steer the future of the industry.

1047 Games’ CEO and Co-Founder Ian Proulx was good enough to take some time to talk Splitgate 2 with us, and not only what we have in store when the sequel launches, but how it’s avoided mistakes the first made, surprises from the community and how one big, ballsy moment at Gamescom changed everything.

Daniel Dae Kim is set to executive produce and star in a series adaptation of the graphic novel Butterfly, our sister site Variety first reported.

The project, which is currently in development at Prime Video, is described as a character-driven spy thriller. Two new faces are stirring up trouble on Big Sky: Ted Levine (Monk) has joined the ABC drama in the series-regular role of Horst Kleinsasser, a “once-powerful man [who] has suffered a stroke and can only whisper, and knows he has to pass the ranch throne on to one of his children,” our sister site Deadline reports.

Additionally, Kyle Schmid (Six, Being Human) will recur as John Wayne Kleinsasser, who “has used his father’s illness to grab the reins of the ranch and steer it away from his brother Blake, the eldest son who turned his back on the family years ago.

Courteney Monroe, President of National Geographic Global Television Networks, also unveiled a new diversity scheme to improve the makeup of behind-the-scenes wildlife filming and gave Deadline an update on the Hot Zone follow-up and potential new projects from the directors of feature doc Free Solo.
