The helicopter that was blown up was a real Swedish army helicopter that was to be decommissioned, so the army gave it to the film crew and they blew it up for real.
The Swedish Air Force made two demands of the filmmakers in return for the loan of the six JAS 39 Gripen Fighter jets. The First was that all aerial photography would be granted for use in commercials by the Air Force free of charge. The second was that one of the military characters was a female and that she had a substantial role, because the Air Force wants more women to apply for service.
The aircraft-scenes were filmed with six JAS-39 Gripen fighters, four helicopters and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.
Artificial snow had to be ordered in from London because of the mild winter.
