Dyesebel (1978)

Trivia

Dyesebel

Edit
Its plot is different to the past versions of Dyesebel for it introduces Dyesebel as coming from a rich family who died in a plane crash.
Also unlike any Dyesebel movies, there was no magic Concho or Shell in the movie but a red batong hiyas (Ruby-like stone) that gave Dyesebel her pair of legs.
In this movie, there is also no Fredo. Instead, there is David, the human and Maro, the merman who both fell in love with Dyesebel. Both characters were played by Mat Ranillo III.
Another difference of this film among other Dyesebel movies is that Bangenge, Queen of the Mermaids played by Nova Villa was the one who adopted Dyesebel, while in other movies it was a character named Banak. In this version, the main villain is Bella Flores as the Sea Hag Golagona, a half human half Octopus.
The film is based on Mars Ravelo's story "Sisid, Dyesebel, Sisid" which was serialized in Bulaklak Komiks.
