This film got stuck in 1978 and then shelved. One year after Sanjeev Kumar demise the film was revived in 1986 and some scenes were shot on Feroz Khan, Amjad Khan and others and the film got completed.
Sanjev Kumars brother Nakul Jariwala was the original producer. He passed away mid film. Mr. Aggarwal took over the film after that.
There is also another film tittled ' Gul-e-Bakwali, which was completed in 1980s and since then, was ready for release. Feroz Khan, Reena Roy, Sulakshna Pandit & Amjad khan, are in this film, produced by Nadaidwala's, directed & cinematography by Ravikant Nagaich and music by Rajesh Roshan.
Director Satpal's last release, writers Suroor-Subhash their first film, later the wrote Reena Roy's film Sanam Teri Kasam which was released later.
Its said the story of the Sunny Deol and Anil Kapoor movie Joshilaay, was inspired by Do Waqt Ki Roti, as the writer and makers thought that Do Waqt Ki Roti was already shelved. After about 10 years Do Waqt Ki Roti was revived, completed and released 1 year before Joshilaay.
