In the 1990s, HBO produced adult-themed shows like Real Sex and Cathouse, but they have moved away from that sort of edgy content in the years since. Home Box Office (HBO) pioneered the concept of the paid channel service going as far back as the early 1970s and helped revolutionize TV throughout the ensuing decades. By the 1990s, HBO began producing original content, which flourished into shows like Tales from the Crypt and the groundbreaking drama The Sopranos. HBO's advantage over basic cable channels was that strict FCC regulations regarding content censorship did not affect them.
Because of that freedom, HBO wasted no time exploiting the lack of regulations by producing several shows and reality series catering to a more adult audience. While a majority of the most popular HBO shows of all time have been fiction, groundbreaking series like Real Sex lived up to its name with a variety...

HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys addressed the inclusion of U.K. series “Naked Attraction” on Max, which prompted a viral craze after it was quietly added to the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streamer last week.
“That show has been on in the U.K. for I want to say six seasons — it was part of a whole library deal,” Bloys explained Wednesday at the Code Conference.
“I just want to make one point because I think I know the point that you’re probably trying to make as, ‘Oh my gosh, can you imagine that show next to… your prestige show?'” Bloys continued. “I will remind you that HBO is the home of ‘Real Sex’ and ‘Cathouse’… Going back to the ‘You need an entire a mix of programming’ — this programming serves its purpose.”

Naked Attraction, a British reality series that features a form of full frontal nudity, has been making headlines after it was added to streaming service Max.
The series has become a surprise hit on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streamer, jumping to number one on its most popular list as of today.
U.S. audiences may be just learning about the show, but it’s been on air in the UK on Channel 4 since 2016 and is in its sixth season and caused plenty of headlines on the other side of the pond, including a raft of complaints to British regulator Ofcom.
Casey Bloys, CEO and Chairman of CEO and Max Content, speaking at the Code conference, said that the show was part of a “whole library deal.”
Naked Attraction is produced by Studio Lambert, the production company behind series such as Netflix’s The Circle and Peacock’s The Traitors.

The horrific shooting in Las Vegas that left 58 dead and more than 500 wounded will not prevent the women of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch from providing comfort and relief. In the wake of Sunday night’s tragedy during the Route 91 Harvest festival, Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof vowed to keep the doors of his establishments open, and that “the working girls will be there to lend compassion and tenderness to the men and women that need it during this sorrowful time.” “The prostitutes of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, Love Ranch Vegas, Alien Cathouse and my other Nevada brothels are devastated...

Tom Hurwitz, Asc, is one of America’s most honored documentary cameramen. A guy who loves to court chance, Hurwitz started out in documentaries, moved into feature and commercial work, then returned to documentary cinematography nearly 25 years ago. During that time, he has put himself in hundreds of situations that have relied on both his willingness to take chances and his ability to have a camera pointed at the right place at just the right time to capture the powerful and the unexpected. Hurwitz’s work extends from “Frontline,” “Nova,” “American Experience” and “American Masters” to “Cathouse: The Series,” from “Paul Taylor: Dancemaker” and ‘Valentino: The Last Emperor” to “Ghosts of Abu Ghraib,” “Killing in the Name” and the Oscar-winning “Down and Out in America.” His latest project, “The Queen of Versailles,” had its world...

Since the beginning of the MTV Jersey Shore era, I've been documenting the "house tours" along with a design critique. After Seaside Heights, Miami and Italy, I thought I had seen it all. But, then along came Snooki & Jwoww, MTV's latest spinoff of the mega-moneymaking franchise. In case you tragically missed the premiere episode last night, I didn't want you to miss out on how these young women live. This season, they depart their usual beach house digs for a converted firehouse in Jersey City. Sounds good, actually even a little chic! I'm thinking industrial cool a la Real World Seattle days, right? Yeah, not so much. But really, you must take a peek.
So, thanks to my friends at MTV, you won't miss out. Let's step inside for a moment, shall we?
Wow. Where to begin? It feels like the Bronx Zoo threw up on a Forever 21. The pink,...

Nevada is known as being America's state of vice. It's the only place in the union where one can gamble and also purchase sex legally. Its government licensed whorehouses have always tried to one-up each other to attract their customers by claiming to offer the prettiest ladies and opulent themed rooms, but now there's a new brothel opening up that wants to catch the eye of the sci-fi crowd.
Brothel owner Dennis Hof has been issued a new temporary license for a science fiction-themed naughty adult establishment, to be called the Area 51 Alien Cathouse. Already the owner of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch (which is the center of action on HBO's reality series Cathouse), Hof has plans to open the doors of his new business venture in the first part of 2012. His angle is different from the other love nests in that the women offering their services to lonely men will...

I'm not sure how many of our readers will be into this news, but I feel I'm doing a disservice to the community it I don't report on it. Alien Cathouse, one of the first sci-fi inspired cathouses, will be coming to Las Vegas, Nevada sometime next year.
The owner, Dennis Hof (who apparently owns the Moonlite Bunny Ranch?), is teaming up with Madam Heidi Fleiss to bring you the "ultimate sci-fi experience".
Featuring girls donning costumes from Star Trek, Star Wars, and many other sci-fi elements, the place promises to recreate various fantasies of any geek...for a price of course.
It seems odd...but then again who better to promote to than a community who has been known to spend thousands of dollars on frivolous items to begin with?
My only hope is they can recreate my fantasy.

Pahrump - Call it Hof Vegas. Dennis Hof of HBO’s Cathouse no longer wants me to warn readers that his Bunny Ranch empire is in only Reno and not Las Vegas. He’s bringing his style of adult fun to the outskirts of Sin City. He called up the hotline from the middle of Crystal, Nevada to spread the news. The sounds of hammering and drills came from his end of the phone.
“We’re moving around here and getting some things done,” Dennis Hof said. “I bought two 35 year old rundown, rat trap brothels. What you’re buying is the licenses.”
The two old names were Cherry Patch Ranch and Mabel’s Whore House. The new places are Love Ranch and Dennis Hof’s Cathouse. “Those are name that are synonymous with good times.”
There are no good times for the former owner. He got arrested for bribing a county official.

The HBO reality series "Cathouse" features a cast of revolving prostitutes all led by owner/pimp Dennis Hof, and is a fly-on-the-wall look at how life and business run at the infamous Moonlight Bunny Ranch. Sadly one of the reality TV stars, Brooke Phillips, who worked at the ranch was found dead. The suspect has reportedly turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday, police told the Associated Press. David Allen Tyner, 28, is being held on six murder complaints, because 22-year old Cathouse star Brooke Phillips and another murdered woman found at the scene were reported to be pregnant. The AP reports that Phillips died from gunshot wounds, according to police Sgt. Gary Knight. The AP reports that authorities...

Rod Blagojevich may see his reality-tv dreams fulfilled just yet. The disgraced former Illinois governor—who won't be participating in the upcoming I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! because of travel restrictions related to his ongoing legal battles—has gotten a new offer from brothel owner Dennis Hof. Hof tells the New York Post that he's offering Blago an apprenticeship at his Bunny Ranch brothel in Nevada, the progress of which would be filmed for Hof's HBO series Cathouse. "He would assist with hiring ladies in addition to facilitating with training and proper disciplinary action," Hof notes, adding that Blagojevich's resolve would be.

Ch. 4 International gets rights to HBO documentaries
LONDON -- Channel 4 International, distribution arm of the U.K.'s Channel 4, will distribute HBO documentaries internationally in a deal with HBO Enterprises announced on Wednesday. More than 250 titles from HBO Original Progamming are covered in the deal, which commences March 1 and gives Channel 4 International distribution rights outside the United Kingdom, and North and Latin America. Titles include One Year in the Life of Crime and 4 Little Girls, plus new programs including The Iceman and the Psychiatrist, about a serial killer; Cathouse, about a Nevada brothel; and Unchained Memories: Readings from the Slave Narratives. Paul Sowerbutts, managing director, Channel 4 International, and Charles Schreger, president of international distribution for HBO Enterprises negotiated the deal. No financial details were disclosed. "Channel 4 is one of the best factual distributors worldwide and we are confident they will do a good job with our catalog," Schreger said. Sowerbutts said, "There are fewer and fewer producers worldwide taking the sort of editorial and journalistic risks that HBO does as a matter of course in its program making and we are immensely proud to represent them."...
