Kleise ta matia

a remake of FRIENDS

You get a bunch of really good looking actors, nice settings ( a top floor house in downtown Athens and a perfect house in the north suburbs), you use at least a scene from US sitcom Friends in every episode and you have "Shut your eyes" ( another stolen title of course, from the Spanish movie this time). But it is fun to see, it is SO surreal you can't believe this is transmitted!! For example, is it possible to work for a living as an average Greek and have a great house in the north suburbs. And how come does Mr Papakaliatis gets all the women in every series he stars in? However I must give credit to Mr. Papakaliatis for the music, which is carefully chosen every time with unique tunes!

A cult TV-Series ? Guess again!

A romantic mess-up,Cheep copy of "24" series (split screen directing method) a misleading script and POOR ACTING and above all an awful end!If that is the level of our TV in Greece i must really think about a satellite dish...at least with satellite you can watch foreign craps but THE ORIGINAL craps not a silly copy of them!

To Be Continued... ps:who knows maybe after all this mess up was not a dream and Fillipos is gonna wake up from the deads and write the "Kleise ta matia 4:The return of the vampire" ! Papakaliati give us a break dude!

Open Your Eyes

Not exactly. This sitcom is called Close Your Eyes a.k.a. "Kleise ta matia" and it has nothing to do with the film. It is a nicely, well plotted, full of surprising twists and crazy encounters sitcom which is different to the rest Greek sitcoms due to the fact that it has a unique direction. The use of music is sublime and the direction has a 24 feeling to it. It portraits the upper Athenian class quite efficiently and it doesn't lack the spine of a screenplay as many other sitcoms do. Every action is justified, and leads to a great climax in the episodes and throughout each episode one has a great feeling of agony of what's going to happen next. Great sitcom for Greek standards and not only. Pleasurable to watch.
