Arouns the time of the film's release Stardust magazine was carrying a story about a man claiming to be Sarika's brother. His name was Rajan Thakur. Sarika denied ever knowing anyone by this name, but it was her mother who claimed that Rajan Thakur use to live with them. Rajan was Kamal Thakur's sister's son. His mother passed away when he was 2 days old. Sarika's mother raised him as her own. As he got older he got bad habits such as drinking and gambling with Sarika's money.
