X2: Wolverine's Revenge

A lot better than recent X games

I liked this game...it wasn't great, but definetly worth a renting or two. Considering the last bunch of X games have been fighting games it was cool to finally get a real story game.

People have been mislead from the commercials and that sucks. I dont agree with how they advertised the game. Even calling it X2 in the title threw a lot of people off. On the whole the game is good. You can do some cool stuff in it and have some cool fight sequences. Its definetly more of a renting game than buying game.

Good story letdown by problematic gameplay

The story is actually pretty good here. For fans of the X Men lore you're going to really enjoy it I do believe, and there's plenty of fan service for them. Just one problem: the gameplay itself isn't the best. Wolverine is shockingly underpowered in this, a single enemy can easily kick his ass. That grunt over there: he can kill him in hand to hand combat without much trouble. It's shocking to any fan of the character. If you put on the invincibility cheat code it becomes much more accurate to the character, but then you have to deal with the infuriating mandatory stealth levels. The boss fights are set up to be epic but in execution they make you want to throw your head against a wall. Overall, watch the cutscenes and stuff on YouTube and skip this one by, unless you're an obsessive X Men fan who "must have every bit of x men media".

Misleading

I just want to say that the commercials for this are misleading in making you think that this is based off of the movie. In fact it is set in the comic book world not the movie world, the only connections to the movie are the design of cerebro and Patrick Stewart doing Xavier's voice

Cool Game...Activision and Marvel never disappoint!!!

I got this game on my birthday. Its a cool game, slightly resembles Spider-Man, but has a lot of differences; including the graphics and the controls. The camera thing is sort of tough, but once you get used to it, sometimes it works like a charm. The combos are amazing. The story-lines are mind captivating and the voices provided for the characters are most excellent. Its a very tough game to beat. Exceptionally good on the video game consoles rather than the PC version (the one which I have). A lot of surprises (including a "drop in" by Spider-Man). I don't want to spoil any more surprises. I don't know about other people, but it sure pleased me a lot. The only thing "bad" (if not, then tough) I have observed are the bosses in the game, the gameplay goes sort of tough, because there are too many strategies to master. It suddenly shifts from a whupp-butt style fighting game to a strategy-like game. This sorta reminds us of Logan himself. Takes a while for a player to shift momentum.

Cool game. In my opinion, worth a buy.

not very pleasing

This game is very much like Spider-man the gam that accomponied the movie, although instead of swinging you get Wolvies keen senses, its not very fulfilling with the clunky battle system, the camera is a pain in the ass. The game makes good use of the actors from X2 lending their voices but i'd prefer to see a X2 game about Wolvie actually include the participation of Hugh Jackman, don't get me wrong, Mark Hamill does a good job, but after listening to him as the Joker I can't imagine him as Wolvie. The game features bad gameplay though, when attacking enemies you'll soar right past them sometimes, and when you reach the mutant freaks (the REAL mutant freaks, not the mutants, the failed science projects) the fighting gets clunky, I suggest a rental cause after the movie its discount bin city, just like the Spider-man game.
