"Tre punto Sei" set in the rapidly changing northern italian city of Torino (Turin) Shows an emerging new world of organized crime that blends the tradional Mafia of Italy with the new ultra violent immigrant gangs that have emerged during the past ten years. The Mafia today is much like the drug gangs of LA and it has survived by adapting to the new enterprises of modern crime, People smuggling and Drug dealing. The film deals with the relationship between two friends Salvo and Nero, Salvo is a corrupt cop with a failing marriage sent to investigate a brewing war between the Arab and African drug gangs in Turin, while Nero friend and former love of Salvo's wife is trying to escape his role as mafia son, drug courier and heir to an aging Italian crime family, which is trying to broker a peace between the psychotic new arrivals. In escaping he finds love with Luna a sad Eastern European girl, who's trying to make a new life in Italy and find her italian dream man. But complications come as the war grows, and la polizia finanziaria crack down on Salvo, his corrupt partners, and the Mafia empire. This film is unusual for Italian films, which are usually comedies or humanistic character stories, it borrows much from Tarantino's fast and quick editing while utilizing a gritty, look. The story is an old one and the characterization of characters other than Salvo and Nero are largely superficial, but the film has merit if not originality. If only for the appealing editing style, loud and moody soundtrack, and the opening of modern Europe to us all. It's not what you think, it's changing and not for the better it might seem.
