Today, Prime Video dropped the fourth episode of The Wheel of Time season 3, and it was a doozy. "The Road to the Spear" tightened its focus on Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski), the prophesied hero known as the Dragon Reborn, following his footsteps through the mystical Aiel city of Rhuidean. As Rand passed through a forest of glass columns, he was transported back in time to relive key moments in the lives of his blood ancestors. It was a stunningly beautiful hour of television.

If you enjoyed it like we did, you're probably champing at the bit for the next episode. After all, as good as Rhuidean was, it didn't feature many important cast members like Perrin (Marcus Rutherford), Mat (Dónal Finn) and Nynaeve (Zoë Robins). What are they all getting up to while Rand is on his trippy vision quest?

After kicking things off with a literal bang, the series has not wasted time throwing the characters into one adventure after another with enough action to keep sci-fi enthusiasts foaming at the mouth.

This episode, in particular, helped to expand so many aspects of The Wheel of Time, from the history of the current dragon to the lore surrounding the different ages.

Hopefully, the season is successful enough that Prime Video renews the show for more seasons, and fans will get to watch the whole story play out.

We heard a while back that someone was trying to get a live-action trilogy of prequel movies off the ground; the first movie, The Age of Legends, is set to be directed by Kari Skogland, who previously worked on shows like The Walking Dead and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The third season of The Wheel of Time is off to a fantastic start on Prime Video. The streaming service released three episodes last week, and they didn’t disappoint.

Although the show is scrambling the events from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time book series a bit, these episodes did a good job of making that change relatively seamless without losing any momentum built up during the action-packed finale to season 2.

Without focusing too much on the differences between the books and the show, audiences can appreciate the visual smorgasbord the show delivers with aplomb. So far, The Wheel of Time is a prime example of how a quality fantasy story can be told on the small screen.

It’s safe to say that Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time has finally hit its stride. The first three episodes of its highly anticipated third season have finally hit screens across the world, and immediately raise the stakes for Rand al’ Thor and Co. with threats coming at them from a multitude of directions.

With more of the Forsaken making their on-screen debut while each of the Two River’s former citizens faces struggles of their own, there is a lot to like in The Wheel of Time’s deft weaving of the Pattern established in Robert Jordan’s elaborately written series of fantasy novels.

The second season of The Wheel of Time ended with the Battle of Falme, where Rand and his friends defeated the Forsaken sorcerer Ishamael while the invading Seanchan army was driven back in the city below. At the end, Rand is proclaimed the Dragon Reborn for all to see.

The battle roughly plays out more or less like it does in The Great Hunt, the second book in Robert Jordan's massive Wheel of Time series. But there are differences. For one thing, in the book, when Rand fights Ishamael, their forms are projected into the sky above the city, so all can see their battle. That may have been a bit grand for the show and I don't think many fans thought too much about it being cut. Still, it's a cool and it's a shame that it didn't show up onscreen.

The Wheel of Time novel series by Robert Jordan is one of the best-selling fantasy series of all time, with a whopping 14 novels and a prequel to enjoy. Showrunner Rafe Judkins has said previously that he is working towards adapting those main novels into about eight seasons of TV. That likely means things will get, and it's easy to understand why: it takes between 18 to 24 months to create one season of big-budget television. At that speed, adapting one novel per season would take up the next quarter-century of the lives of the cast and crew.

I had the privilege of being able to take my time with the season. After I watched the first episode, I deemed it a very strong opener; it asks all the questions that will be answered throughout the season, spends a good amount of time exploring how character dynamics have developed and sets just the right tone. Pike explained that this adjustment was made to better translate Rand’s internal struggles to the screen. The Wheel of Time season 3 is nearly upon, and if the thrilling first minutes we've already seen are any indication, it promises to be the fantasy television event of the year. Most of these women are Aes Sedai sorceresses or, in the case of Nynaeve and Elayne, Aes Sedai in training. The odd woman out is Min, who has the power to foresee the future, although it comes to her in strange flashes that are hard to interpret.

The Wheel of Time is one of the most beloved fantasy sagas of all time. Over the course of 14 books, author Robert Jordan's tale of a young farm boy and his friends fighting the forces of darkness enthralled readers, selling more than 100 million copies around the globe. But the tale of how these books were made is almost as epic as the story of Rand al'Thor itself. In 2007, Jordan passed away from a rare blood disease; at the time he had only written 11 mainline Wheel of Time books and a prequel, leaving the future of the series very much in doubt.

Enter Brandon Sanderson, the hyper-prolific author behind such series as Mistborn, The Stormlight Archive, Skyward, and more. Sanderson was hand-picked by Robert Jordan's widow and editor Harriet McDougal to finish the series. Before his death, Jordan asked McDougal to find someone to finish his books, which Sanderson says she considered Jordan's "dying request.

The film industry has been adapting popular books for centuries and this trend continues to be strong today. However, not all adaptations were popular, either with the public or the authors, as many struggled to find an audience or maintain the heart of the novels.

Bestselling author Brandon Sanderson has also struggled with allowing his novels to be adapted. The author has had a series of popular epic fantasies, including the Mistborn or The Stormlight Archive series, but his novels have yet to be turned into movies or TV shows. Speaking to Polygon about the ongoing streaming environment, the author mentioned popular adaptations like The Wheel of Time and Shadow and Bone as examples of why that doesn't work out.

Prime Video’s journey through Middle-earth isn’t ending anytime soon. The streaming service has renewed The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for a third season, with plans to begin filming this spring, TVLine has learned.

Thank the Light! The first trailer for Prime Video's The Wheel of Time Season 3 has just been released, and it's a doozy. Set to premiere on Mar. 13, the third entry in the series adapted from the books by Robert Jordan takes us to all new places, and introduces us to new characters like Elaidado Avriny a'Roihan, portrayed by Shohreh Aghdashloo.

Mostly adapting the fourth book in Jordan's series, The Shadow Rising, the trailer for The Wheel of Time Season 3 that was released online today (seen below) showcases what we can expect in March. Rosamund Pike's Moiraine Damodred and Josha Stradowski's Rand al'Thor are front and center as they head to the Aiel Waste, and there's no shortage of action and magic, of course. In addition to Elaidado Avriny a'Roihan, new characters also introduced this season include Faile (Isabella Bucceri), Bair (Nukâka Coster-Waldau), Melaine (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), Rhuarc (Björn Landberg), and Melindhra (Synnøve Macody Lund.

The Wheel of Time continues to spin at Prime Video, and fate might spin in a dastardly direction for some characters if the Season 3 trailer is to be believed.

The sci-fi drama hit a significant snag during The Wheel of Time Season 2, featuring controversial storytelling choices.

Since the series premiere, the issue has been that there aren’t enough episodes in a season to do the novels justice, and it’s hard to imagine that changing any time soon.

But as things stand, the only way is up for The Wheel of Time Season 3, and the latest trailer may compel me to watch the show again.

The Prime Video fantasy series, which premieres March 13, has released a full trailer for the coming season. It builds on a prior teaser and showcases the growing rifts among factions in the show’s setting of the Westlands.

A couple months after a juicy teaser, Prime Video has finally released the full official trailer for The Wheel of Time season 3, and it is, in my humble opinion, looking delicious. Take a gander below:

When last we left our heroes, Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) had declared himself as the messianic Dragon Reborn for all the world to see, which is going to cause some major ripples. It's a good poster, although the most interesting thing about it may be the caption, telling us that an official trailer is coming tomorrow morning, Wednesday, February 12, at 8:00 a.m. Est.

Dan: This is my first time reading through The Wheel of Time novels, and I'd always heard that The Shadow Rising was a big book for the series. Now I see why. I was starting to get a little tired of every book before this climaxing with Rand al'Thor winning a fight against Ba'alzamon, or Ishamael, or whatever name he's going by at this point.
