rocks

This movie was the best movie Raven has done. It has a great message for teenage girls and guys who think they have a chance in the music business. The Cheetah Girls can sing and they can dance. That is the perfect thing that makes success.

Childhood changes

As a child I loved this film. But as an adult; I am now noticing things in & about the characters in the film that just don't add up.. Someone or multiple someone's changed the ethnicity of one of the characters in the story from the 1st film to the 2nd.

Spare the Tweeners.

The Cheetah Girls is obviously not catered to my demograph.

But then again, I don't believe it's catered to ANY age group at all.

My sister begged me to watch it with her. She was an avid Disney Channel watched, and had seen the coming attractions for it. We all sat down and... my God. This movie, quite frankly, is the worst I have ever seen. The worst in my entire life. From the absolutely moronic dance moves and songs, to the threadbare and dumbed down plot, The Cheetah Girls fails on all levels humanely possible.

If I was a mother, I would not wish my tween to watch a movie such as this. In fact, I know several young girls who had enough intelligence to throw down the remote and turn the thing off. I was actually embarrassed and appalled that Disney actually had the guts to release such a miserable, worthless piece of garbage.

I was ashamed that I even sat through those two hours, suffering through gaudy costumes and ditzy tweens. Not to forget that utterly awful climax. It is quite possibly the worst ending to any film I have ever seen. The filmmakers must have had absolutely no respect for creating a movie, nor did they have any respect for their audience.

Girls, I expect you to be more intelligent than this.

Rating: 0 Stars.

Decently good...

The Cheetah Girls, to most people, is considered a "bad" movie. For personal reasons, I gave it a 6 out of 10. The bad things: it was cheesy in places, badly acted, and obsessive over the smallest things. The good things: it was decently entertaining, fairly-plotted, and the characters were fun to watch.

The first character, played by Raven, is decent. She is way too obsessive about her music. Her acting was fair. One thing I hated about her was her stupid dog, Toto. The dog should have been thrown out. I felt like the movie was trying to make me feel sorry for this poor pooch that falls in this hole and must be rescued.

The second character is kind of annoying to me. She goes out and shops around for clothes with her mom's credit card, and then cries to make mommy stop yelling at her later. Her character is horribly acted by what's-her-face.

The third character doesn't really fit in. The producer's probably thought, "Okay, we can't be racist so we'll throw in a white girl". She's some kind of a dancer, but she doesn't know if she wants to leave the Cheetah Girls. Weird.

The last character... Well actually, I don't remember anything about her (other than her high-pitched singing, which got on my nerves at times).

I actually found this movie entertaining though. The songs were okay, and the choreography was good. I am going fairly easy on this film. The first time I saw it, it wasn't bad at all. The second time it aired on TV, I watched it again. It wasn't as good. Flawed but entertaining. The Cheetah Girls is one I would suggest to the younger generation...

why so hard on the cheetah girls?

I've read some of the comments on the cheetah girls movie, and I'm surprised at how hard the ADULTS have been on this movie. I'm 16 now, but this movie came out when I was 9 or 10. And all this talk about how unrealistic it was, is STUPID. Of course it's gonna be silly and unrealistic, but this is a CHILD'S MOVIE. Disney caters to ages 6-14, although at that time not many teens watched it so it was probably around 6-11 at the time. I LOVED the movie, and so did all of my friends. We didn't see these girls as rich (nor did we care) as some people have claimed, we didn't sit there contemplating the roles of the characters, and we didn't even think that no one would care about Toto being stuck in a hole at the end, because to us at that age, that was a plausible reason for the police and firefighters to come. Unrealistic? Maybe. But we were KIDS. We cared about Toto and the girls' friendship. Fame wasn't the moral to us, friendship was, at least, that's what I got out of it. So before you rate this like it's an adult/teen lifetime/feature film, think about it from the standpoint of who it was made for, the kids.

it was alright but not a must see

I liked this movie and it was alright but the plot was quite predictable. I mean, its about four girls who want to be stars, turn down a big opportunity and then split up and GUESS WHAT?! they get back together again?! how original (not). They were a little unrealistic at the end when they all save the dog wearing the same kind of outfit?! I'm sorry but that's just silly. Raven is really good at acting but she didn't shine in this movie and Adrienne and Kiely are in a band and i like their music but the four of them didn't do too well together and Sabrina is really quite pretty and a good dancer but she can''t really sing.

OK so now i will tell you more positive things about the film... The colours were really cool and vibrant and the dog was so cute! I think Gabriella's mum is a bit overprotective but i guess that is how the character is meant to be! The boys in the film are not really good looking and they were not really needed in the movie but hey?! The movie is good if you like musicals and great to cuddle up with popcorn and some friends!!!

Very unrealistic..

I didnt like the plot at all. It was pulled off alright, though...the movie did have many flaws..I give it a 2/5. First thing, i dont like the plot because its about four greedy girls who want fame, each in their own way. Raven's character was just selfish throughout the whole thing..and then when you think you have the characters figured out..the other three girls go and sellout. Next, lots of acting flaws...mainly the LIP SYNCHING. It became extremely obvious when they werent actually singing..i mean, lip synching is bad enough..but they couldnt do it. Then, the 3LW girls acted alright, though they did overact a lot unnecessary facial expressions ALL THE TIME)..a common acting flaw..nothing major. Other than the plot, some amateur acting, and other mess ups (guitars not being plugged in [laughed out loud when i saw that]..piano and drum sounds coming out of nowhere during the singing scenes, clean dog in hole becomes dirty when pulled out and then one minute later hes all clean again..)...everything else is done alright. I'd recommend this to younger viewers..older viewers would probably laugh at how fake the movie is...i know i did.

NOTE: I gave the movie a 2 based on the acting and the production of the movie..not the plot..if i was to rate the plot, i would have said 0..

No cheers for the Cheetahs

My younger sister is obsessed with this film. I believe she owns all of the books and sad enough she even owns the DVD. I can't stand it. The only good thing about the film is that Disney actually made this look like a (cheesy) movie at the theater. It was in wide-screen (which was nice) and it looked well made, but it wasn't.

Plot is simple, 4 girls want to be pop stars and turn down an offer of a lifetime. Very, very original... Yeah RIGHT!

I thought the end of the movie was cheesy about the dog getting stuck in that hole (or whatever the heck it is) and then the whole city freaking out (common it is NYC!) and the news reporters are freaking out about the crisis. It was on the dramatic side. The girls started to sing to get the dog out which was VERY unrealistic. Most of the movie was UNREALISTIC. When would a talent show have fancy spotlights that are shaped in spots and stuff? The names are too dramatic like Galleria (all I know is that is the name of a mall in Houston) and Chanel. The storyline is so boring and WAY too predictable. Raven is on of my favorite actresses and she didn't do a very good job of acting. That dumb "C'mon" has NO lyrics but "C'mon, C'mon!" and is annoying. When the girls reunite, they are all wearing the same clothes.Suddenly the LIVE news becomes a music video. The street suddenly becomes a stage and the guitars are never plugged in!

It is fun to watch and make fun of when you're bored. If this movie is about to come on, change the channel and you can save some of your precious time.

Began the fall of Disney channel...

Now, I don't comment on a lot of things. Especially not movies like this, but I'd like to say what I have to say.

This movie is terrible...horrible acting, cheesy storyline, it was also confusing to understand. It was like a mess of scenes jumbled together in movie format.

The songs are just...ugh...I don't even have a word for them. They don't really make sense, and obviously this movie is aimed at 6 year old girls.

Whatever happened to the OLD Disney? Like Zoog? Sister Sister, Boy Meets World, Even Stevens, and the older D.C.O.M.S such as Brink!, Halloweentown, Johnny Tsunami, Quints, and many others. They need to bring back the good shows, and quit showing terrible movies like this.

I hate this movie more than any other

This movie is the worst one I have ever seen. This is the biggest cookie-cutter generic girly film, actually, don't even call it a film. It's a show, a crappy Disney show about every other girl who wants to be a famous singer/entertainer.

How does a trapped dog attract town-wide news attention? How do they just break into song and dance with nothing around like microphones, amps, etc? I saw this movie a while ago but I remember that I just couldn't stop ridiculing it. Whoever was in charge of this train wreck should never have anything to do with movies ever again.

Never, ever watch this movie unless you want to see something that really sucks.

this is a great movie

I really enjoyed this movie, it is my favorite. It inspires kids and teens to reach their dreams and to keep trying.

After watching this movie i wanted to see more. they are currently making a sequel "the cheetah girls 2" airing this summer on Disney channel. But, for now if you enjoyed the movie i recommend reading the books, (the author of the cheetah girls has a book series called the cheetah girls.)

It also has of diversity which is really nice because it shows the different types of families and situations families live in. This movie has good actors too. the 3LW members, Raven and Sabrina Bryan.

it is a fun movie to watch with your kids especially if they like to dance and sing along like me and my sisters.

I liked it!

The fact that it was Disney and that the songs were rubbish may have put people off, but apart from that it was very good!

The acting wasn't amazing, but it was still decent and nothing to hate the film over. And I liked the plot line, and just everything about the film, really! The only thing I didn't like were the songs. If it wasn't made by Disney and was made by a different company and there were better songs, then perhaps it would've been a more successful film.

So I'd recommend it to people who'd have no idea it was made by Disney (although the cheesy songs may give it away). But it is a very good film and very emotional!

To all those that rated this film lowly, get a grip, will you? Please just get a grip!

This is another made-for-TV film and as such is a film that is not high on intellectual output but, if you just sit down and as with Charlies Angels 1 and 2 (the ones with Cameron Diaz, Bill Murray etc.) leave your brain at the door and just enjoy the film for what it is (which is a film about four mid to late teens trying to make it big as self-choreographed (by one of the group members) singers in the music industry) then you should have no problem liking or even loving the film.

The film centres on four teenagers (the characters' ages not the actresses) but around them is the usual thoroughfare that is seen in these types of films. There was the unscrupulous record boss that wanted to change them and their style. There was the mother/manager that against her better judgement allowed her daughter and the group to almost get done by him and there was the silly ending that brought the girls back together after one was even less willing to follow the boss's ideas even more than the other three and walked away from the group. The other three eventually decided she was right and also left but by then the group was no more until the silly ending that is. Knowing and accepting that it was following the usual plot lines for this type of film meant it could be enjoyed and yes the second one was better but this one was by no means as bad as others have made it out to be. 8 out of 10 for me.

The Cheetah Girls

The Cheetah Girls was a good movie. Although predictable, I thought it was a decent film. 4 New York teens in an all girl singing group was a neat story with a lot of style and talent. It was nice to see urban and diverse girls on mainstream television. Sometimes, television movies have a habit of strictly showing "common" people (no offense intended). I like how this movie was exposed to many children of all backgrounds. Lynn Winfield, a great actress, was good as Raven's mother. I like the fact how the main character was of mixed origin. That made the character seem more realistic. It may have been a cheesy, yet inspiring story, I still would recommend seeing it.

Wow...

I didn't hold high standards for this movie, but it was worse than I thought. This movie is terrible on so many levels. First, why does everyone one on the Disney channel think they can sing? Most of them can't even act! The movie was cheesy, predictable, and COMPLETELY unrealistic (seriously though, when was the last time a talent scout came to your high school talent show? Do high schools even HAVE talent shows anymore?) At the end when the dog gets stuck, 1) Why would they all be wearing the same outfit? 2) The entire city would not care so much about someone's dog and 3) The whole deal about them singing to get the dog out was just lame... Then, where did that music come from when they just all burst out in song? And how would it be like a music video if it was supposedly live on the news?

The songs were dumb, the acting was just... bad, and the plot was insulting, even for a Disney movie. This movie was made to parade off Raven and to show that they have enough power and money to hire two singers from a pop group from what? Three years ago? That's impressive... This movie was not "inspirational", it shows little girls that it's ok to be greedy, egotistical, and an overall raging bitch to your friends, because in the end it will all be ok... To wrap this up, I'm really disappointed in Disney. I didn't even watch the whole thing, and I know it was the worst movie ever made.
