It's been a while since we delved into the darkly romantic strains of Bella Morte on these pages, but in case you've missed our features on one of the hardest-working and most influential Gothic bands in the genre, now's your chance to catch up. Founded in Charlottesville, Virginia in the mid-'90s, the band was instrumental in kick-starting the second wave of Gothic rock at that time, and across their eighteen-year history they've racked up seven full-length albums and two EPs, the latest being the 2011 album Before the Flood (check out our review here). This week they've released a mammoth compilation of highlights from most of those projects, as well as some new and rare tracks. Flashback: First Annual Chicago Underground Film Festival: Official Lineup
Heading into its 18th year in 2011, the Chicago Underground Film Festival is the longest-running underground film festival in the world. It used to be tied with the New York Underground Film Festival — both were started in 1994 — until Nyuff closed up shop in 2008.

In 1994, the Internet wasn’t the big promotional tool it is today so neither Nyuff nor Cuff that year had a website; or, if they did, those pages have since vanished off the web. So, details about what these fests screened in their first years have been sketchy. Well, until now for Cuff.

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon it, but I recently discovered that the alternative newsweekly the Chicago Reader had posted up the entire, full lineup of the first annual Chicago Underground Film Festival.

Scream Queens Hosting Blood Drive in Burbank
Devanny Pinn and Tara Cardinal will be hosting a benefit for Haiti at Burbank’s own Dark Delicacies on Feb 28th. Aside from being startlingly beautiful, these Scream Queens have made quite a name for themselves within the independent b-horror film realm. Click the links on their names for biographies and more information on their work.

Those who donate blood will be given a pint of Ice Cream, courtesy of Baskin Robbins pint for pint program, and a chance to meet some great confirmed guests. Does blood make you too squeamish? No problem! Dark Delicacies will also be accepting cash, canned food and clothing donations.

Monsterpalooza Guest List and Presentation Updates
We're exactly two months away from the second annual Monsterpalooza, which is returning to the Marriott Burbank Convention Center April 9-11, 2010. Big Stash of extras on upcoming DVD
The good folks at Camp Motion Pictures gave Fango the scoop on the extensive details for its unrated DVD of Stash, coming March 10 on the Bloody Earth Films label. They also sent along the first look at cover art for writer/director Jacob Ennis’ backwoods survival shocker.

Also lensed and edited by Ennis and starring Kevin Taylor, Karen Boles, Billy W. Blackwell, Chris Begley and Fango Radio’s Debbie Rochon, Stash is about a couple of Kentucky boys who decide to steal the crop of Bud, a local marijuana grower. They get caught in the act, and Bud subjects them to an especially horrific punishment, with the help of a secret lurking in his basement. Special features include:
