Disney Star Christy Carlson Romano 'Grateful' to Be Alive After Getting 'Shot in the Eye'
Image
Disney Channel star Christy Carlson Romano had quite the scare at her husband's birthday celebration when one of the guests inadvertently shot her in the face. Fortunately, she's okay, as revealed in an update shared on social media.

On Instagram, Romano posted a video of herself revealing the wound she sustained just below her left eye. She shared that there was an incident that happened on Saturday when she took her husband, Brendan Rooney, to shoot clay pigeons for his birthday. In the caption of her Instagram post, Romano shared that during that time, "another party" had "unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face." Romano was struck in five places, with one fragment narrowly missing her eye, and it remains in place as doctors say it's "too risky" to attempt to surgically remove the fragment at this time.

11 Beloved Family Movies Turning 20 In 2023
Image
Twenty years ago, tween-girl cinema thrived. Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and Amanda Bynes kicked off the junior rom-com eras -- bringing their Disney and Nickelodeon fans along for the ride. Big-screen coming-of-age stories, family sagas, and whimsical made-for-television movies defined youth culture in 2003. Pop music became more accessible to children. Bright colors and Y2K fashion arrived in full force. Kids were paying attention to the media and products advertised to them.

As a person who turned nine in '03, I vividly remember this era of family films. They were hopeful, playful, and rife with young characters seeking adventures. I'll never forget when my sister and I saw our first movies on DVD instead of VHS: "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" and "What a Girl Wants." For millennial fans, Hilary Duff's Italian excursion has been on repeat as a literal soundtrack of our lives. Amanda Bynes' British battle of the debutantes sharpened our rebellious side.

10 Most Underrated Disney Channel Original Movies
Drôles de vacances (2003)
Disney Channel Original Movies, also known as "DCOMs," were quite the craze in the peak era of Disney Channel, from the late 90s to the mid-2000s. With Disney+ featuring a lot of the old classics in its roster, it's time to take a look back at some of the lesser appreciated (but not totally obscure) ones.

Related: 10 Most Unrealistic Disney Channel Original Movies

This list will only deal with original DCOMs, not based on Disney shows or franchises that were already established. So films like The Even Stevens Movie or Kim Possible: So The Drama won't appear. Without further ado, here are some of the forgotten "made for children's TV" gems.

Wondering which Disney Channel Original Movies have made it onto the Disney+ platform? We've got you covered.

Zoom, zoom, zoom. Make my heart go boom boom. Disney+ is here.

Much of the focus around the launch of Disney's new streaming service platform has been on its flashiest of assets—your Star Wars and your Marvel movies and TV shows. Yes, we're talking about Disney Channel Original Movies (affectionately known as Dcom).

You've got your Zenon (Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, Zenon: The Zequel, and Zenon: Z3). You've got your High School Musical (the original, High School Musical 2, and Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure). You've got your Luck of the Irish. If you are an older millennial or anyone who enjoys earnest,...

Newswire: Here’s what’s coming to (and going from) Hulu in April
We’re only halfway through Hulu’s unofficial Karate Month celebration, and the streaming service has already announced the new titles you’ll be able to stream in April. Sadly, there isn’t as much of a clear theme as there was for March, but Hulu is getting the premiere of the highly anticipated adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale at the end of the month. Maybe rampant, apocalyptic misogyny is the theme? Barely any of the new movies or TV shows fit into that mold, but isn’t everything about rampant, apocalyptic misogyny in a way?

Misogyny aside, Hulu will also be adding the three original RoboCop movies, Michael Showalter’s Hello, My Name Is Doris, The Babadook, and the Disney Channel originals Johnny Tsunami and The Even Stevens Movie. Plus, you’ll finally be able to watch the premiere of Dimension 404, Hulu’s star ...

On this day in pop culture history: ‘Even Stevens’ premiered
Before Shia Labeouf was known for turning hitchhiking into performance art, making a paper bag the most-talked about red carpet accessory, and being an actual cannibal (well, at least in this awesome song), he was Louis Stevens. 16 years ago today, Even Stevens premiered on Disney Channel, making a star out of then 14-year-old Labeouf. The shenanigans of the Stevens family were on display on the Disney Channel for three seasons, plus The Even Stevens Movie, serving as the series finale. Other notable June 17 happenings in pop culture history: • 1964: The Supremes released the single “Where Did Our Love Go.” It was their first song to hit the top of the U.S. singles chart. • 1967: Barbra Streisand sang for over 135,000 fans in New York’s Central Park. A recording of the free concert was released as her first live album, A Happening In Central Park. • 1977: The much-maligned sequel to The Exorcist,...

Shia LeBeouf on #Allmymovies: 'I Can't Articulate How Big This Was'
Shia LaBeouf
Last week, actor-performance artist Shia Labeouf broke the Internet with #Allmymovies, an installation piece in which the unpredictable celebrity took a seat in Manhattan's Angelika Film Center and watched all 27 of his movies in reverse chronological order. On Monday, three days after the credits rolled on the last movie in the program — the actor sat for an in-depth NewHive interview with collaborators Luke Turner and Nastja Säde Rönkkö.

Labeouf seemed euphoric about the experience. "I can't articulate how big this was," the actor said. "I don't even know yet. All...

How Does Shia Labeouf Really Feel About the 'Even Stevens' Movie?
Shia LaBeouf
Last week, the world was invited to watch along as actor Shia Labeouf revisited his entire film catalogue in reverse order as part of his living art project #AllMyMovies. And we got to experience the The Even Stevens Movie through his eyes. Despite a vast resume of hit blockbusters and acclaimed indie dramas, along with some huge bombs, the actor seem to enjoy watching The Even Stevens Movie the most. And memes of the actor laughing hysterically throughout its 93 minute runtime stormed the Internet last Friday. Now, in an interview with New Hive, Shia Labeouf shares his thoughts and feelings about watching this TV show finale for the first time in over 12 years.

"The Even Stevens Movie was interesting. It's all of our childhood. It's mine and it's yours. It wasn't just me smiling like that. If you look at the freeze frames, everyone is smiling like wow, I remember Beans.

Shia Labeouf on Even Stevens Movie Rewatch: 'It Felt Like Family'
Shia LaBeouf
The Internet laughed, cried and reflected with Shia Labeouf on Friday as he relived the 2003 made-for-tv masterpiece The Even Stevens Movie. Now, in a new interview, Labeouf confirms that joy was indeed experienced during the screening.

Labeouf gave an interview to NewHive, which hosted the actor’s three-day live stream — part of his #AllMyMovies project, in which he screened his entire filmography in reverse chronological order — and revealed how he really felt re-entering the mind of Louis Stevens.

Shia Labeouf on How His Movie Marathon Changed His ‘Sense of Self’
Shia LaBeouf
Whatever you thought #Allmymovies was about, you were probably wrong. Or maybe you were right! It's kind of hard to tell. Shia Labeouf's reactions to every one of his films won over over both critics and those of us at home, making #Allmymovies, in the actor's words, a big success. In his first interview with NewHive (which hosted the livestream) since his strange movie marathon, Labeouf said that the project helped him feel ownership over his name for the first time. "I used to order my coffee and when they’d say, 'Hey what’s your name?' I’d say James, because I didn’t want them to say my name," he said. "And today it’s just something different ... This shit changed my coffee order name, which in turn, changed my sense of self." Labeouf also talked about the experience being moved while watching Even Stevens with...

Looks Like Shia Labeouf Had A Horrible Time Watching Transformers 3
Shia Labeouf won me over this week. Like most of you, I.d grown tired of the once-popular actor.s public stunts, from the paper bag on his head at a world premiere to the screaming of motivational phrases at random audience members. Enough was enough. But the #AllMyMovies project, which let us watch Shia watching all of Shia.s movies, was just interesting enough to lure me back into Labeouf.s web of crazy. especially because the experiment revealed that he hates the Transformers movies as much as we do. Part of the fun of watching Shia Labeouf watch his movies was to gauge his reaction as you played along from home. Sometimes, as when he watched The Even Stevens Movie, he appeared to be having the time of his life. However, during the screenings of Michael Bay.s Transformers trilogy . of which Shia Labeouf played an integral part...

For proof, one need only look at star Shia Labeouf‘s emotional reaction to the made-for-tv masterpiece, which was shown Thursday in NYC as part of #AllMyMovies, a three-day art installation of sorts in which the actor screened his entire filmography in reverse chronological order.

And thanks to the project’s live stream, lifelong fans of the film — a continuation of the Even Stevens TV show, which aired in the early 2000s when...

You Can Watch All of Shia Labeouf’s Movies With Him Right Now
Shia LaBeouf
For his latest art project, Shia Labeouf is throwing himself a Shia Labeouf film festival: Starting Wednesday at noon, Labeouf is watching every single one of his films back-to-back, in reverse chronological order, which means it'll be a while before we'll know whether The Even Stevens Movie made the cut. The marathon screening, dubbed #Allmymovies, is taking place at New York's Angelika Theater, and admission is free. If you can't make it, though, you don't have to miss out on all the Labeouf-y goodness: If you click the link above, you can watch a live-stream of the actor's face as he re-lives the memories of Nymphomaniac, Transformers, and The Battle of Shaker Heights. Disney Channel Original Movies: A look back at the Golden Era
Raven-Symoné and Kirsten Storms in Zenon, la fille du XXIᵉ siècle (1999)
I happened to catch the High School Musical spin-off Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure while watching a friend’s kid sister last weekend, and I have to say, once and for all, that I’m totally and completely over Disney Channel Original Movies… and it’s about time. Even toward the end of what I consider the Golden Era of Disney Originals — starting in 1999 with Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and coming to a screeching halt in 2003 with The Even Stevens Movie — I was probably a little too old to be watching them. I remember joking about the latest cheesy Domp (Disney Original Motion Picture…...

Wyclef For President Of Haiti, The Teen Choice Awards And Prop 8 In Today's Twitter-Wood
Wyclef Jean
Wyclef Jean already has at least one vocal backer for his run for President in Haiti, thanks to Ice-t. Conan O'Brien may be on board, too, but he's got some high standards. Miranda Cosgrove, meanwhile, won't be running for head of state anytime soon, but she is up for a Teen Choice Award for "iCarly," and tweeted the results of her dress search.

The fun part about watching Kevin Smith's hockey tweets is that that he's actually a fan of the sport in general, as opposed to just the New Jersey Devils. Jeremy Piven and Dave Coulier, meanwhile were a little more explicit with their praise last night when the Chicago Blackhawks took home the Stanley Cup.

Some country music performers took home some accolades last night, too, over at the Cmt Music Awards. David Spade and Snooki saw some friends while they were there from the looks of their tweets. Somewhere in Hollywood there's a lonely Kindle lying in the middle of a street, and it belongs to Paul Feig. He requested that anyone finding it let him know via Twitter today, where posting was a bit slow due to many of the movie industry's tweeters being on vacation. There were still plenty of shout-outs both good and bad about "Avatar" and "Sherlock Holmes," though, the latter of which was so packed that even Nicky Hilton couldn't get in.

There needs to be a special award for Dave Coulier today, who linked to a re-lyric'd performance of a Taylor Swift song dedicated to Uncle Jesse from "Full House" -- and anyone who follows Twitter-Wood knows that I can't resist retweeting a good "Full House" post. Check it out after the jump along with Kevin Smith's outlook on "Iron Man 2" and Brian Lynch's evaluation of his Wikipedia profile.

Tom Felton On Joining 'Get Him to the Greek' And John Stamos' Birthday In Today's Twitter-Wood
Tom Felton sounds like he'll be lightening up his mood a bit for his next non-"Harry Potter" project.
