Trivia

Baba

Edit
A intra-state political party in Tamil Nadu made severe anti propaganda against the movie for having too many smoking and drinking scenes. There we're also occurrences where the screens we're torn by the party members in order to stop the movie screening which led to a disaster in box office result
Besides playing Baba and writing & producing this film, Rajinikanth also voiced Mahavathar Babaji, in both the Tamil and Telugu versions. This is one of those rare times where Rajini dubbed for himself in Telugu, be it in a direct or dubbed film.
Movie is set to be released again on 10-12-2022 with some mastered editing.
This is the second and last Tamil film of Amrish Puri after Thalapathi (1991), which also starred Rajinikanth.
The song "Dekho Na Zara Dekho Na" from Swades was sampled from A.R. Rahman's song Tamil song "Kichu Kichu Tha" from Baba.
