Exclusive: UTA has signed Pasqual Gutierrez, one of the filmmakers behind Sundance 2025’s Serious People, for representation in all areas.

Directed by Gutierrez and Ben Mullinkosson, Serious People is an experimental comedy following a music video director who, in anticipation of his first child’s arrival, hires a lookalike to take over his professional responsibilities. As the impersonation unfolds, the boundaries between his work and personal life blur in unexpected ways. Gutierrez wrote the script and stars alongside his wife, Christine Yuan.

In the beginning of the series, Ruth Truesdale (Melissa L. Williams), an ardent follower, kidnaps her own daughter for the Rakudushi. However, after suffering a ritual sexual assault, Ruth makes plans to leave the cult with anyone else she can convince.

The series first premiered in May 2020, and there have been four more seasons since. Each season of Ruthless is broken up into two parts, with some parts coming months after the first part. Season 5 part 1 premiered in August 2024 with eight episodes and now season 5 part 2 is expected to tie up all the loose strands of the show.

The Rolling Stones are back on the road after a two-year break from touring and the setlist has been revealed for their Hackney Diamonds Tour.

The tour is celebrating the band’s 2023 album of the same name, which was their first album of original material in nearly 18 years.

Over the past couple of decades, the Rolling Stones have looked for any reason to hit the road besides the release of a new album of original songs. They’ve launched tours celebrating their 50th anniversary, reissues of select archival records, the 2016 covers LP Blue & Lonesome, and their 60th anniversary. Some years they headed out on the stadium circuit for no particular reason whatsoever, knowing a Stones tour is a major event in and of itself.

But after a nearly two-year break from touring, the Stones emerged last year with the shockingly great Hackney Diamonds.

The Rolling Stones kicked off their “’24 Hackney Diamonds” tour at Nrg Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday night, playing an 18-song set that mixed greatest hits, fan favorites, and material from their latest album.

The night appropriately kicked off with “Start Me Up,” followed by “Get Off My Cloud,” “Rocks Off,” and “Angry” from the recently released Hackney Diamonds. Other notable song selections included “Beast of Burden,” which was played as the result of a fan vote; the live debut of “Mess It Up” from Hackney Diamonds; and the first live performance of the Keith Richards-sung “Little T&a” since 2016.

To close the set, The Stones ran through classics like “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Miss You,” “Paint It Black,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Check out photos and video from the show plus the full setlist below.

Coachella crowds are notoriously awful, but the response to Blur’s Saturday set was especially jarring.

By all accounts, the Britpop legends put on a phenomenal show. August 2023 sees the release of two major football documentaries on HBO and Max. The first is the premiere of Hard Knocks on Aug. 10. Hard Knock‘s new season focusing on the New York Jets and the second season of the original drama Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty join Max’s August 2023 lineup, along with Tracy Morgan’s latest comedy special. August’s schedule also includes the season finales of And Just Like That… and Warrior.

Rap Sh!t season two premieres on August 10th, and the new half-hour young adult animated series Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake arrives on August 31st.

Staind have fleshed out the details of their forthcoming album, Confessions of the Fallen, which will mark the band’s first new full-length since 2011. The 10-track record will arrive on September 15th via Alchemy Recordings/BMG. In addition, Staind have also debuted a new song off the set, the scorching “Cycle of Hurting.”

“Cycle of Hurting” is classic Staind, with heavy guitars, dark rhythms and Aaron Lewis’ tortured vocals, including some intense roars. “How can I face what’s under the surface / When nothing is working? / How can I break away from the burden / The cycle of hurting?” frontman Aaron Lewis sings in the chorus.

Regarding the dark lyrics of “Cycle of Hurting,” Lewis said in a press release, “I’m still working through my issues. Still working through my problems, and until then I’ll dream of better days. I hope that’s how everybody feels right now…better days are yet to come.

R.E.M. has teamed up with “The Bear” on a full-length music video for “Strange Currencies (Remix).”

The four-minute video combines footage from “Road Movie,” which documents the alternative rock band’s 1995 tour, with exclusive clips and behind-the-scenes footage of the FX series’ second season, which premiered June 22 on Hulu.

Released as the third single on the album “Monster” in 1995, “Strange Currencies” follows a lovelorn protagonist who yearns to win over a mysterious crush. The song was a Top 10 hit in the UK, a Top 20 hit in Canada, and peaked at No. 8 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.

The remix, which was featured prominently in the official Season 2 trailer on May 15, first appeared on 2019’s “Monster (25th Anniversary Edition),” where the band’s longtime producer Scott Litt revisited the best-selling 1994 album, offering a fresh perspective on each track.

"The Idol" focuses on several heavy themes, ranging from drug use and excessive partying to Hollywood cults, which has many wondering if the realistic and intense storyline draws any influence from reality. While the series is not based on a singular true story, it's hard to imagine this show wasn't inspired by the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry.

Blur took the stage at the Colchester Arts Centre in Colchester, England on Friday. The concert served as a warm-up show ahead of the band’s summer reunion tour — their first such outing in eight years.

The 23-song setlist boasted several notable moments, including the debut of two tracks from their newly announced album The Ballad of Darren: “The Narcissist” and ” St. Charles Square.”

The band also performed “Villa Rosie,” from 1993’s Modern Life Is Rubbish, for the first time ever, and dusted off live rarities “Chemical World,” Oily Water,” and “Popscene.”

Award-winning musician Abel Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, has begun the process of slowly shedding his stage name. The singer has now changed his social media platforms to reflect his birth name.

“I’m going through a cathartic path right now,” Tesfaye told W magazine earlier this month. “It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close The Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

Canadian singer The Weeknd was left shocked after his 2019 track ‘Blinding Lights’ became the most streamed song on Spotify of all time.

The 32-year-old star, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, celebrated the news on his Twitter account on New Year’s Eve, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Reacting to the news that his track successfully surpassed Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’, he wrote: “For New Years ???” adding a trio of face with party horn and party hat emojis.

Later, The Weeknd turned to Instagram to post photos from ‘Blinding Lights’ music video, including snapshots of him, clad in a blood-red suit, laughing with blood covering his mouth. In the caption, he wrote: “Happy new years to blinding lights. The most streamed song of all time tonight.”
