Family Matters was a staple of the ABC Tgif line-up for eight seasons before it was dropped in 1997. CBS picked up the show for one final season before cancelling it. Reginald VelJohnson starred on the sitcom as Carl Winslow, and he spoke about his career and the popular ABC series during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

VelJohnson remembered his time on Family Matters fondly during the interview, and he is willing to bring the group together one more time.

The Disney Channel has given a series pickup to "Girl Meets World," brightening the hearts of former ABC Tgif fans everywhere.

The series, a sequel to "Boy Meets World" that focuses on Cory and Topanga's daughter, is set to premiere in 2014. Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga, and Rowan Blanchard plays their daughter, Riley, who's entering seventh grade. Sabrina Carpenter also stars as Riley's friend Maya. That's all of them in the photo above.

"'Girl Meets World' is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made 'Boy Meets World' so popular," co-creator Michael Jacobs says.

"Girl Meets World" also stars Teo Halm as Riley's older brother. William Daniels once again plays Mr. Feeny in the pilot.

Cory and Topanga are officially back. Original Boy Meets World co-stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have been tapped to reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence in Disney Channel's Boy Meets World follow-up, Girl Meets World, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. As first reported by TV Line, the duo will step back into the roles they made famous in the ABC Tgif series that ran from 1993-2000. I watched Boy Meets World for two reasons.

First, it was a show that made me feel like I wasn’t alone in life. Like Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), the show’s protagonist, I didn’t have the answers growing up. He muddled his way through high school, puberty, friendships and sex, just like me. Amidst a sea of sitcom Smart-Alecks and Sassers, he was an Everyman, instantly relatable to me on every level. When it first aired, my takeaway from every episode was that nobody gets an A in the course of life, no matter how hard they try.
