                    Unique and powerful acting

Such a movie will never be made again. Stuttering masterpiece movie. Looking at the movies of the present day, it seems like something made by copy paste. Old movies were different quality and script.

Nowadays Bengali industry becomes a shame. We are lucky enough to have such master piece movie like this. What a acting by everyone they are real actor. Personally i love to watch Bhanu ,he is my favourite one.

Personally I unable to understand 40-50 years ago Bengali industry was on pick point how they became downfall like this totally waste, today's director need to know how to make a movie like this.

"And what to say about the cast"

Written by the thespian Manoj Mitra, who played the titular role himself. People like Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chatterjee, Bhanu Banerjee, Rabi Ghosh and Nirmal Kumar has been showing the path of acting as an old man for decades, and Mitra as Banchharam was the cumulative result and the best of all of them as well. The story focuses on every single charcater, even we can see how the antagonist gets into sadness after knowing about the climax. There is a backstory and charcater justification for all of them, that we can see why all the forgiving women are going against the protagonist. And what to say about the cast - let us just copy and paste from youtube - "Manoj Mitra, Dipankar Dey, Robi Ghosh, Madhabi Mukherjee, Bhanu Bandopadhyay, Biplab Chatterjee, Nirmal Kumar, Debika Mukherjee, Shambhu Bhattacharya, Ramen Roy Choudhury, Premangshu Bose" - seems like just a play which cannot be and intended not to be staged indoor. Kudos to all of them. We miss the great culture.

Underrated Classic From The Great Tapan Sinha.

Bancharamer Bagan is adapted from celebrated stage play 'Sajano Bagan' by Manoj Mitra. Best thing of this film is its screenplay by Tapan Sinha. Both the characters of Dipankar De are the heart and soul of this film. Loved the rhyming dialogues.

I've never seen such a Bengali film in which I laughed throughout the film. Every actor was great. This is the best performance of Manoj Mitra I've seen. Rabi Ghosh and Madhabi Mukherjee in their screen time will definitely make you laugh.

Besides, the story is about the bond between human and mother earth. This film was the winner of Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor in 1980 Filmfare Awards.

Available on Youtube (With English Subtitle) & Airtel Xtream.

Oppression can never be the final verdict !

" Bancharamer Bagan " is undoubtedly a unique Bengali movie. It shows a never-ending bond between the mother earth & those human beings who love as well as worship her with utmost sincerity & veneration. On the contrary an Oppressor, however powerful may he be , eternally plays a lost game. Love , affection & true fidelity are the things that always become triumphant. The heart of a tyrant shall ever malfunction & bound to fail & collapse in the long run. This is the real Dance of the Universe !
