Per Deadline, Costner filed a declaration on Monday in which he explicitly asserts that Labella's claims, which involve her having to endure a rape scene that was unscheduled, unrehearsed, unscripted and extremely violent in the Western sequel, are completely unfounded and a direct attack on him personally. Costner is now moving forward with having a hearing scheduled for Sept.

Labella says she was not told the actor she was doubling had refused the second scene and claims a new male performer was instructed to pin her and pull up her skirt during repeated takes.

Kevin Costner’s self-funded Western “Horizon” has reached a settlement for the United Costume Corporation’s breach of contract lawsuit over alleged unpaid fees of nearly $350,000. Details of the settlement are not available, but the production company filed a request for dismissal on Thursday, as obtained and reviewed by TheWrap.

Costner’s loan-out firm Horizon Series was sued in May for the alleged breach of contract for costuming fees across “Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1” and its yet-to-be-released sequel.

The suit included an invoice for “Chapter 1” costumes coming to $58,000. A second to the tune of $285,000 came through for rentals the next year, with United Costume signing a deal with production to provide costume for “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2” as well.

While on the run, they find redemption within each other in this dark and violent land where the line between good and evil is blurred, where the only rule is that of survival. The screenplay was written by Matt Black.

Executive producer is Paul Reichelt of Appalachian Film. Exclusive: Fox Entertainment has selected the four Fellows for its 2025 Fox Entertainment Writers Incubator, an initiative designed to nurture and provide support to four writers of all genres, including comedy, drama and animation.

Selected from over 1000 submissions, Melissa Kong, Sagar Vasishtha, Julia Bianco and Nage Gibson-Thompson were named as the 2025 Fwi Fellows.

Marking its fourth year, the Fox Entertainment Writers Incubator initiative is a rigorous three-month workshop focused on reworking their material, honing writing skills, professional development and an exploration of the media and entertainment business. It also provides its Fellows with one-on-one mentorship opportunities with Fox executives and staffed writers.

Following successful completion of the Fwi, Fellows will work across series produced by Fox Entertainment’s in-house production unit Fox Entertainment Studios and Emmy-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment. The claims were made by Celeste Chaney, whose inquiry into the incident during the rehearsal of a scene on the set of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 in May 2023 was attached as an exhibit to stunt woman Devyn Labella’s amended complaint filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court. That’s where she filed her original suit earlier this year alleging she was subject to sexual harassment and while standing in for star Ella Hunt during on the second of Costner’s planned four-movie Western epic.

Filmed back-to-back with Chapter 1, the second installment in Kevin Costner's epic western movie series was initially scheduled for release on August 16, 2024, but was pulled from the release calendar. Despite being indefinitely delayed, the film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and was screened at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February.
