    Fast paced and really fun!

I thought the first Streets of Rage was okay, nothing too special; however, this one was way more fun! I have played several beat em up games the past few days and this was by far the most fun as it was so much more fast paced. The game play never felt as if it lagged in the least. The other games I played felt slow and they were arcade games! I thought I would play this one for a bit before bed and I ended up playing through the whole game as Blaze because it was so much fun!

The story, Mr. X has returned...this time he wants revenge! He has kidnapped Adam from the first game and it is up to Axel and Blaze to save him! Also joining the team is Max, a wrestler and Skate, Adam's younger brother. You have to fight through several areas of the city so that you can stop Mr. X and his plans for revenge!

The game play is nice and fast. It is amazing the amount of moves Blaze was able to do. I am not sure how the new characters play as I usually like using Blaze as I love it when she flips over a person then gives them a suplex! The stages are interesting as you have your basic city levels, a boat stage and even a haunted house! I also liked the fact the game's easy mode was actually easy as I only had to continue once during a boss rush. I also only had trouble with a couple of bad guys, and no one took too long to kill making the pace seem even faster.

So, I have heard that this is the best of the Streets of Rage games as part III was apparently a step back. Still going to try it at some point. This one was very fun, I like having more moves rather than just having one super attack like the previous game and the pace of the game is just great. Though, there is one thing...one would think Mr. X would learn not to simply sit in a chair as his best warrior fights and would simply start shooting right away...

    "Streets of Rage 2"

"Streets of Rage 2" is one of the greatest video games ever made - period.

I grew up in the early 1990s, and "Streets of Rage 2" (also known in Japan by its original title "Bare Knuckle II," and is the sequel to 1991's "Streets of Rage") which debuted in North America in December of 1992, was one of my favorite video games to play on my trusty Sega Game Gear in the wee hours of the morning before I had to go to school.

A fast-paced, side-scrolling "beat-'em-up," "Streets of Rage 2" does not really have much of a plot, but what draws you in and keeps you playing are the beautifully designed levels and graphics, the fast-paced gameplay, and its "ground-breaking" electronic dance music (EDM) soundtrack (by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima) - the latter of which is so addicting and memorable that I have a link to the full video game score on YouTube saved on my computer.

"Streets of Rage 2" is truly one of my favorite video games, and is definitely one of the greatest video games ever made.

    10/10.

    Get ready to rumble!

It is one year after Axel, Blaze, and Adam smashed the syndicate. However, Mr. X is down but not out. The team let their guard down. Axel Stone is working as a bodyguard, Blaze Fielding is now a dance instructor, and Adam Hunter rejoins the police while taking care of his younger brother Skate. Slowly, but surely, the tendrils of Mr. X's organization retake the city, and Adam is kidnapped. The gang find a photograph of Adam in chains and set out to rescue them, unaware that Mr. X is baiting them into a trap. They are joined by professional wrestler Max Thunder and once more storm through the streets wasting everyone in their path across the slums, an amusement park, a ship, a desert island, a factory, and finally confronting Mr. X in his new headquarters.

Everything about the first game is improved. Sprites are larger, gameplay is more dynamic, animation is less choppy, environments are more colorful and flamboyant, and the music...is awesome. Streets of Rage 2 frequently makes the number 1 spot of any "Best Video Game Music" lists. Yuzo Koshiro may have been inspired by the early 90s club scene but this stuff is not dated in the slightest. You simply must go out and purchase the soundtrack.

The first game was a fun beat-em-up, but SOR2 is an epic. 23 years on and this game still holds up. Revolutionary, bone-smashing, head- banging, ball-breaking action from beginning to end. What a game!

A perfect sequel in every way.

Streets of Rage 2 is without a doubt on my all-time Top 10 list of favorite video games. Everything about this game is almost perfect, if not perfect. From the sensational graphics to the engaging gameplay, Streets of Rage 2 has it all! If you ask me, no other fighting game can compare with this one! Even if you just get one fighting game the rest of your life, get this one!

Streets of Wrath: Part 2 - Improved original for fans of the series

"Street of Rage 2" is a continuation of the cult game, which not only preserves the success of the original, but also introduces a lot of improvements, making the gameplay much more exciting and ambitious. The story remains as simple as in the first part: after Mr. X, the leader of the crime syndicate, has retaken the city, he decides to kidnap Adam, one of the heroes of the original. This event becomes the reason for Axel, Blaze and new characters - Max and Skate - to go to his rescue, overcoming many dangers along the way.

The plot is still secondary, but that doesn't stop the game from being exciting. The villains return, but the heroes don't lose their appeal. Max is a huge strongman with tremendous power. It not only brings variety to the game mechanics, but also allows you to try a new style of play. Axel remains a balanced fighter, Blaze somewhat copies Axel's mechanics, but Skate becomes a high-speed character because he cuts through on roller skates. He finds his strength in speed and agility, but suffers more than others from blows. This contrast between the characters gives players the opportunity to adjust the style of the game to suit themselves, choosing a fighter depending on their preferences.

The mechanics of the combat system in "Street of Rage 2" are familiar. This is a classic fighting style with punches and kicks that turns any fight into a real show. Unlike the original, the game has new, powerful special attacks that take away some health, but in difficult moments they can be a real salvation, and their use requires good calculation and timeliness.

A particularly important point is the two-player game, which allows you to fight side by side with a friend. There are immediately an order of magnitude more enemies, the screen is literally full of characters and wild fights, the degree of confrontation increases significantly. But there is a second side: the cooperative mode also adds some complexity, because if you do something wrong, you can accidentally hit your partner.

There are a lot more enemies in Street of Rage 2, and each one requires its own tactics. Now not only street hooligans roam the streets of the city, but also experienced martial artists, acrobats, mighty thugs and nimble racers. The opponents have become much more diverse, each type of enemy requires a special approach, which makes the game not only more difficult, but also much more interesting.

Special attention should be paid to bosses. Unlike the first part, now with each new leader there is not only increased strength, but also unique features in the combat system. The opponents at each level are becoming more dangerous and cunning, and in order to win, you have to use absolutely all available techniques and techniques. Moreover, every boss in the game is not just a dumb "big guy", but a real threat that needs to be dealt with at the strategy level.

As for the levels, they represent a real adventure in numerous locations. Each stage is not just a new background, but a special atmosphere with unique details and features. In the game, you can visit a variety of places: from sinister city streets to dense jungles, from clubs and beaches to the deck of a ship. Each location has its own unique elements that affect the gameplay, such as a variety of obstacles or surfaces that slow down movement.

The graphics of "Street of Rage 2" are a slight improvement on the first part, no more. But it's the same bright, detailed backgrounds and powerful animation effects that make the game more entertaining. The characters now look more lively and expressive, their movements are smooth, and their strokes are bright. Each unit has not just a model, but a whole set of animations, which makes the battles more dynamic and visually impressive.

But one of the most memorable things about the game is the music. The musical accompaniment created by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima not only complements the atmosphere of the game, but also becomes an integral part of its identity. Each level has its own unique composition, from fast, energetic tracks to more relaxed melodies. Music actively interacts with the actions on the screen, enhancing the emotional response from what is happening. I always remember this soundtrack with warmth, and its themes can still evoke nostalgic feelings.

"Street of Rage 2" is an excellent sequel to the game, which repeats the successful mechanics of the first part and slightly improves them. There are a lot of new levels and characters, which makes the game more interesting and diverse. At the same time, it retains the very spirit of the original that was so appealing. If the first part was good for someone, then the sequel completely surpasses it on all fronts. It's a classic that still remains relevant to this day. She attracts with her charisma, energy and quality.
