Spiegel was a frequent collaborator with filmmakers Sam Raimi, Boaz Yakin, Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino. After co-writing “Evil Dead II,” which premiered in 1987, Spiegel went on to direct his first feature, “Intruder,” in 1989.

Spiegel also co-wrote the 1990 film “The Rookie” with Yakin that starred Clint Eastwood. His other film credits include executive producing the “Hostel” horror franchise with Roth, directing “Hostel: Part III” and the 2004 reimagining of “My Name Is Modesty.”

Kraven the Hunter is currently streaming on Netflix in America, but globally, the film has surged into Google’s VOD top 10 in several countries, such as Argentina, Greece, and Italy. Kraven was not well-received by critics, who gave the film a meager 15% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the audience-driven Popcornmeter came to rest at a much more respectable 72%, albeit based on less than 3,000 reviews.

Still, modest audience reviews didn’t save Kraven the Hunter from a disastrous box office performance.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will indeed be a dark tale. The world has forgotten Peter Parker, and he is without friends and his Aunt May. Grieving and alone, Peter Parker will also be joined by Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in the upcoming movie (and possibly Venom?).

This will add a vengeance storyline to Peter Parker, who is already angry at the world for not remembering him. Well, to say that Spider-Man 4 would be a depressing watch would be an understatement. However, it still won’t be able to compete with Andrew Garfield’s 11-year-old masterpiece of a movie that traumatized a generation.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Garfield in the lead role of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, was released in 2014, and it is…the most depressing Spider-Man movie to date.

James Gunn’s Superman was released on digital and PVOD on August 15, a month after the film’s theatrical release. Despite it not being a billion-dollar hit, it is still a major success, making fans wonder why the film was coming out so early. It's an exciting time to be a Spider-Man fan. The Web-Head has two new films coming to theaters in the near future. The fresh design, crafted for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, combines classic elements with modern updates, and fans have wasted no time showering it with superlatives.

The odds of Mister Negative appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Day just got a lot better. Marvel fans are losing their collective minds over a new set photo that seems to confirm the inclusion of the highly requested Spider-Man villain in the superhero sequel.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day began filming today, Aug. 1, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. The crew is currently prepping the set for a scene that will reportedly see Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal's Punisher fighting over an armored vehicle. While seeing the two Marvel Cinematic Universe fan favorites fighting is exciting in itself, it's the tank that actually has fans ecstatic, as the Inner Demons logo has been spotted on the side of the armored vehicle. The Inner Demons are a gang run by the ruthless crime lord Mister Negative, a villain that fans have long wanted to see appear in a Spider-Man movie.

Sony Pictures has just released a short, 9-second teaser of the new Spider-Man costume for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” for Spider-Man Day, which is apparently a thing.

The clip is very short, but it does give a bit of a glimpse into the costume that many were waiting to see. It does seem to harken back to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suit.

Sadly, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is still a year away, not hitting theaters until July 31, 2026.

“Brand New Day” will star Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Other actors returning include Zendaya, who plays M.J. Jones-Watson, and Jacob Batalon, who plays Ned Leeds. Jon Bernthal (Punisher) and Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) will also be added to the film.

Sony Pictures released a teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day that celebrates that something "brand new is coming" for Spider-Man Day. The suit in question is still mostly hidden away in shadow, but the sneak peek confirms that it will feature raised webbing and a new logo. It looks to be a different costume than the one featured at the end of Now Way Home, when Peter Parker embraces his new life as the hero.A full suit reveal could arrive later in the day. The standout set of Lego Marvel's 2025 wave is one of the best releases in years, despite one glaring issue. The comic book side of Lego has its fair share of misses this year, such as the disappointing Avengers: Endgame final battle set. Nevertheless, there have been a few bright spots from Marvel's blocky portfolio, some of which have avoided the typical MCU source material.

Lego 76321: Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock Subway Train Scene is the perfect example and is arguably the best Marvel set of the year because of it. Adapting an iconic scene from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2, where Tobey Maguire's web-slinger is forced to stop a subway trolley from barrelling off its tracks, the set captures the train and the surrounding carnage magnificently. Despite this, something is missing from the build that holds it back.

Sony Pictures and Marvel officially revealed a brand-new poster highlighting Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man four years after his MCU debut and return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Maguire first appeared as Marvel's resident web-slinger in 2002's Spider-Man, fighting his arch-nemesis, Green Goblin, and saving many lives in New York. The first movie's success led to two more sequels: 2004's Spider-Man 2 and 2007's Spider-Man 3. 

While his journey as Spider-Man ended in 2007, a fourth movie that would've brought back Maguire in the titular Marvel role almost happened, but it was ultimately canceled after director Sam Raimi struggled to develop a strong story. Despite Spider-Man 4 not happening, Maguire made a triumphant return alongside Andrew Garfield's version of the character to help Tom Holland's Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home - a comeback still being celebrated today.

The showrunner behind Wednesdayaddressed the show's future, sharing the plan for future seasons. Fans are currently awaiting the premiere of Wednesday season 2, which is set to debut in two parts starting in August 2025. The series is developed for television by veteran screenwriting duo Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.

Speaking with THR, Miles Millar shared his plans for Wednesday's future, following the recent preemptive season 3 renewal, saying, "We’ll take as many seasons as Netflix wants to give us." He goes into his experience working on Smallville, sharing how the ten-season superhero show has influenced his approach to long-term planning. Read his quote below:

“We’ll take as many seasons as Netflix wants to give us because we made a mistake with Smallville at one point. We had a five-year plan, and then the show went on for 10 years. So we’re not going to get out in front of that.

“We never thought that the biggest hit of our career would come 30 years in,” marvels Alfred Gough, one half of the creator and showrunner team behind Netflix’s biggest English-language hit series, Wednesday.

Along with his longtime writing partner Miles Millar, the duo have been responsible for a slew of genre hits over the years, ranging from 2000’s Shanghai Noon, to 2004’s influential superhero smash Spider-Man 2, to The CW’s Smallville (all 217 episodes of it!), to 2015’s AMC cult favorite Into the Badlands.

But its their recent collaborations with director Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega — the director and star of Wednesday and last fall’s box office hit Warner Bros. sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice — have given the duo a late-career hot streak.

Throughout the years, Insomniac Games has proved itself as one of the best superhero game developers, with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 being their peak experience. The in-game mechanics, like web-swinging, high-jumps, air-tricks, etc., made the fans connect with the friendly neighborhood on a whole new level. Apart from this, the most beloved feature from the game, the wind tunnel, is also praised to date. Some fans even think that Insomniac should take inspiration from the wind tunnel and create a Superman game.

For the Man of Steel, flying is a big part of his routine so that he can traverse through the city and do the needful. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, both Miles and Peter can do this by gliding through the wind tunnels. Frankly, it would not be a stretch to envision Insomniac creating a Superman game by using their years of experience in this genre.

Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 2.1 extended cut received its first official poster and 2025 release as part of a recent news blast. Maguire played the iconic wall-crawler from 2002 to 2007, preceding both Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland as Marvel's big-screen Spidey. While fans have loved revisiting Sam Raimi's Maguire-led trilogy of Spider-Man films, one particular project from that era has evaded a large swath of the Spider-Man faithful for nearly 20 years. 

Spider-Man 2.1 is an extended version of 2004's Spider-Man 2 that was released as part of a special DVD in 2007, which fans will finally be able to enjoy in theaters later this year. With speculation about Maguire's potential future in the Marvel role (in projects like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Secret Wars), audiences are amped to see this long-lost special cut on the big screen for the first time.
