Even though Tetris is in the name, this game doesn't really resemble Tetris. Because of this, Henk Rogers - owner of The Tetris Company - said that he regrets granting Nintendo permission to use the Tetris name.

In the original, Japanese version of the game, Thanatos the evil king has cast a spell that causes fighting among the fairies of the world of Popples. Lip, the fairy of flowers, must beat each of her fairy friends in a puzzle game to return them to normal.
