After six years, the first official trailer for Den of Thieves 2: Pantera has arrived, giving us our first look at the upcoming heist thriller starring Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson Jr., although it looks like there will be a slight twist to their dynamic this time as, instead of trying to one up one another, they'll be teaming up to pull off the diamond heist of a lifetime.
However, the synopsis is not quite as revealing, telling us that "Big Nick (Butler) is back on the hunt in Europe and closing in on Donnie (Jackson), who is embroiled in the treacherous and unpredictable world of diamond thieves and the infamous Panther mafia, as they plot a massive heist of the world’s largest diamond exchange."
In addition to Gerard Butler (300; Olympus Has Fallen) and O'Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton; Godzilla: King of the Monsters) reprising their roles from the previous installment,...

Mash's upcoming reunion will celebrate the legacy of the series and reunite the surviving cast, who previously came together in 2019. The series effectively blended humor and serious topics, serving as a commentary on the horrors of war. The reunion is significant as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the iconic finale and allows fans to see the cast together with visuals and never-before-seen content from the series.
Mash's upcoming reunion is exciting, but the surviving cast came already together just five years ago. CBS' groundbreaking war comedy-drama is re-assembling its remaining actors for a special that will celebrate the legacy of the series. Running for 11 years, Mash is widely regarded as one of, if not the best in its genre, effectively marrying humor with more serious topics. It functioned as a commentary on the horrors of war, whether intentional or not, all while providing great and consistent entertainment throughout...

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS provided a record $18.1 million in grants to a pandemic-slammed industry during the fiscal year ending September 30, 2020, the most ever awarded in the organization’s 32-year history.
Cautioning that “any enthusiasm” about the record is “tempered with the recognition that continued fundraising is essential to ensure healthy meals, lifesaving medication and emergency assistance are still available as the country faces an uncertain future,” the organization noted that the $18.1 million in 2020 grants exceeds 2019 grant-making by 22 percent. Last year’s $14.8 million in grants had been the previous annual record.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone in the theater community – those onstage, backstage and in the audience – for sharing their generosity and talents to accomplish such a feat when half our fiscal year was consumed by a pandemic,” said Tom Viola, executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Did starring in “The Shawshank Redemption” (and then directing “Dead Man Walking” the following year) leave Tim Robbins with a profound compassion for the members of America’s prison system, or was that profound compassion what compelled him to pursue those jobs in the first place? Either way, it seems the famous actor and sometime filmmaker still fervently believes in the words of Sister Helen Prejean, who Susan Sarandon played in “Dead Man Walking”: “Everyone is worth more than their worst act.”
Robbins’ first directorial effort since 1999’s “Cradle Will Rock” finds him going back to jail in order to help extend that ethos into the real world. , “45 Seconds of Laughter” takes us inside the maximum-security fortress of Calipatria State Prison, where a few special members of Robbins’ theater company (The Actors’ Gang) lead a troupe of violent criminals in a commedia dell’arte workshop that’s meant to...

The source novel for Alfred Hitchcock’s classic horror film The Birds is to be adapted again for TV by the BBC...
Don’t they ever stop migrating?
The Birds first landed in Cornwall, England, in Daphne du Maurier’s original 1952 book, and Alfred Hitchcock let them loose in Bodega Bay, California, when he made the book into one of his greatest horror films in 1963. Now, the BBC is bringing them back to rural Cornwall for an upcoming contemporary TV drama. The adaptation is likely to be more faithful to the book, rather than be a direct remake of the film.
The Birds will be written by Irish playwright and writer Conor McPherson, who adapted the novella as a stage play in 2009. McPherson also wrote the films The Eclipse and The Actors.

It’s been over two years since we got word that Disney had acquired the rights to Irish author Eoin Colfer’s hugely popular Artemis Fowl series, but everything’s been quiet since since then. But now, it seems like all systems go with Kenneth Branagh, fresh off the huge success of Cinderella earlier this year, singing onto the develop and direct the project, working from a script from Irish playwright and director Conor McPherson (I Went Down, The Actors). The original plan was to adapt the first two books of the series as one movie, but time will tell if this is still the case. Hailed by many as the next Harry Potter, the books follow a twelve year old criminal mastermind who finds himself caught up in the hidden world of magic after he kidnaps a fairy, needing her magic to save his family. Branagh’s really been flexing his directorial muscles lately,...

Am I the only one more in love with Margaery every week? This girl knows how to play the ‘Game!’
The April 7 episode of Game of Thrones was all about big reveals: Not only did we finally learn about Bran’s mysterious power, but we also discovered that Margaery (Natalie Dormer) isn’t quite the innocent, politically naïve girl she claims to be. In fact, I’d say she’s the first person capable of taming the insufferable beast known as Joffrey (Jack Gleeson)!
Still skeptical of Margaery’s motives, Cersei (Lena Headey) asked Joffrey whether or not he felt she was a “good fit” to be queen. He immediately shot down her suspicions, reminding his mother that he’s the king and she shouldn’t question him. It looks like Cersei won’t be pushing Margery around the same way she did Sansa (Sophie Turner).
Meanwhile, Margaery’s grandmother...

‘Game Of Thrones’ returned March 31, revealing a bright future for the khaleesi & an ominous warning for those beyond the wall.
After a lot of wheezing and slow-running, Sam managed to escape an angry, axe-wielding White Walker on the third season premiere of Game Of Thrones — only to admit that he did not, in fact, send out any of the warning ravens. There’s no easy way to put this, so I’ll just say it: We all gonna die!
*Cue The Opening Credits*
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) finally came face-to-face with the dreaded Mance Rayder, who turned out be far less dreadful than I once dreaded. When he wasn’t making insane threats, he was actually a pretty jolly guy — though he became considerably less jolly when he learned that Craster has been giving his newborn sons over to the White Walkers as offerings. This revelation bonded Mance and Jon,...

The arrival of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," the final movie in the franchise, feels like the end of an era -- the first flick, after all, premiered in 2001, meaning we've spent nearly a decade watching the adventures of this boy wizard.
There is an overwhelming sense of melancholy that comes with the conclusion of such an epic cinematic journey, and there are sure to be plenty of tears when the credits roll on Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and the rest for the last time. But, take heart, Potterheads! There are plenty of reasons to be glad -- yes, glad -- that we're seeing the last of J.K. Rowling's creations on the big screen.
If you're in need of a post-Potter pick-me-up spell, we've put together a primer on finding a way to celebrate the silence that comes after "Deathly Hallows - Part 2."

Conor McPherson insists it's his lead Ciarán Hinds who provides "instant soul" to his latest film "The Eclipse," but it's the 37-year-old Irish playwright who's responsible for the ghosts. As has been his habit in his acclaimed plays like as "Shining City" and "The Seafarer," McPherson once again conjures up the supernatural for a love story about a grieving widower (Hinds) who finds a connection with a writer of ghost stories (Iben Hjejle) when he volunteers at a literary festival in the small Irish town of Cobh, serving as a driver to a loutish bestselling author (Aidan Quinn) who's equally entranced by her. While the film's gravitas and unexpected wit has led to that even more elusive spirit -- buzz of a distribution deal -- McPherson's preoccupation with ghosts even prompted fellow playwright John Patrick Shanley to finally ask about it during the Q & A that followed the film's premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Playwright/writer/director Conor McPherson does not do subtle very well. Whether it’s a play like The Seafarer, where the devil plays poker with a man for the right to his soul or a film like The Actors (2003), where a struggling actor pretends to be a gangster to make his craft more lively, there’s really little room for greys in his black-and-white worlds. He utilizes that painfully straightforward style to maximum effect in The Eclipse (2009), a romantic drama and ghost story that finesses his typically contrived plot structure and usual thematic preoccupation—if given a choice, will a man choose to stay put or let go of his past/obligations—by making a story of grief and comfort stylishly blunt.

The supernatural drama was filmed in Cork last summer and will feature as part of the World Narrative category which will screen among other titles Woody Allen's new project 'Whatever Works' and the Polish Brother's 'Stay Cool,' starring Winona Ryder.
