    !!!!!

This is one of the better English-dubbed animes I've seen. The plot revolves around five characters who are members of a "Magic Club" at their high school. What the world doesn't know, is that they are using real magic, not just parlor tricks. An alien force "invades" earth (although they never harm humans unless provoked, they quite often destroy property and examine people, making them uncomfortable.) The main character is a ditzy, clumsy, innocent girl, a new recruit to the club. The other characters are the nerdy, perverted founder of the magic club (the main girl's love interest); his right-hand man (an effeminate gay boy who constantly flirts with him); the main girl's right hand girl (quite bossy and bitchy; and also quite reluctant to be in the club); and rounding (no pun intended) out the main characters is the well-developed, semi-slutty (but not quite) girl, who never shows up for meetings. One minor character worth mentioning is the ridiculously well developed Miaka (i think that's her name), who antagonizes the leader of the club and always finds some way to put attention to her boobs. As you probably have guessed, this movie (actually, series of movies) has quite a few sexual innuendoes and references, which are extremely funny, without the need to get too raunchy. I saw the first four episodes of "Magic User's Club" on DVD just a couple of hours ago at a friend's house. I'm guessing you'll have to order this movie, rather than find it in a store. P.S.- a great feature, on the second DVD, are the "outtakes", where the voice-actors mess up... apparently the main actress is quite spunky, breaking out into Madonna's "Music" while her character is in a record store, to name one out of several hilarious outtake moments. I hope you find it, and enjoy!

    One of the best.

One of the best anime series I have ever seen. If only every anime was of this caliber.

Mahou Tsukai Tai! follows the adventures of a Tokyo highschool Magic club contending with a mysterious alien invasion on planet Earth.

It's largely a comedy and you'll be chuckling and laughing out loud throughout. It also has some wonderfully poignant moments, a wonderful soundtrack and all around beautiful animation. I can't comment on the American dub because I've only seen the Japanese sub, and the voice work is fantastic.

In today's era of Pokemon/YuGiOh overload, Mahou Tsukai Tai is a breath of fresh air, even if it does date back to the mid-90s. This is so unlike the cookie-cutter crap that is being endlessly released these days and I would highly recommend it to any anime fan, newbie or hardcore alike.

The most funniest anime to see

When I first started this series, I got the first volume as a Christmas Gift from my friend. I watched the first two episodes, and they were very funny. The first episode was so funny, there was this one line about Aburatsubo (note:) He's a guy, that the most funniest line I heard. In the second episode, Takakura's worst enemy Miyama aka:"The Wicked Witch of the West", had flowers growing out of her hair because Akane used Magic on her. Now that's funny. What would Akane do next? Have branches growing out of Miyama's hands? That would be funny and Miyama would be a human tree.I know in some of the episodes on the other volumes of the series, Sai has some problems with her magic, even on her broom that she flies on.Takakura always tell her to be in herself and if she doesn't, her magic will not work. Also Akane sometimes doesn't show up for club meetings because she has something else to do instead of being in the club. She probably lied about being in the club in the first place. Even in episode 3, she used forbidden magic like she was told not to. But would she listen? Answer: No,she wants to get herself in lots of trouble. Takakura told his members"A magician should not use his/her magic for greed and Revenge and other such things. The series get more interesting after that. After the first 6 episodes. The series get more interesting. There's also a giant cherry blossom tree and a ghost of the tree.(Note): The tree was once the bell that invaded earth which sent eyes, whirlybirds, and tops to spy on activity in Tokyo. Some of the episodes in the show can freak you out. The show features the voices of: "Misty Daniels,Jamie McGonnigal,Kevin Collins,Nicole Tieri,Lisa Ortiz famous for Yu-Gi-Oh!,Mike Pollack,Michael Tremain, and Suzanne Gilad. So in closing to this review. Add this series to your collection and be careful, some episodes can freak you out. You will see what I mean.

    Lighthearted, mischevious and funny

A six-episode pet project, Mahou Tsukai Tai! (I Want to Use Magic!) is funny, perverted at times, but all and all, a very cute show that should appeal to all sorts of anime fans. It is not for kids despite the cute apperance of the characters and the trademark teddy bear (Jeff-Kun) of main character Sae.
