On April 19, 1995, the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history devastated the nation, claiming 168 lives—including 19 children—and injuring hundreds more. The bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building shattered families and changed America forever.
Now, 30 years later, National Geographic has unveiled the trailer and key art for its new three-part docuseries, Oklahoma City Bombing: One Day in America, a raw and unflinching account of that tragic day, told by those who lived through it. The series premieres April 2 at 8/7c on National Geographic and streams the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

From 72 Films, the Emmy Award-winning team behind the One Day in America franchise, the series is an unprecedented moment-by-moment account of the Oklahoma City bombing, including extraordinary stories of survival, heroic rescue efforts, the nationwide search that followed, and a city’s need for justice and healing after the tragedy.

Company Xiv, a Brooklyn, New York, burlesque troupe, has delivered a fresh take on Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland, with their show Queen of Hearts.
The children’s story has long inspired trippy, psychedelic-esque variations, frequently crossing through the childlike realm into adult themes. Company Xiv takes the adult themes to a new level with the theatrical piece Queen of Hearts.
Queen of Hearts is a slick combination of circus, dance, song and burlesque. In skimpy, eccentric clothing, performers bathed in red lighting execute Alice-inspired routines. Classic characters from the beloved book make their appearances throughout the performance, including Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the butterfly, and the Cheshire Cat.
This February marks Queen of Hearts’ third season inviting audience members to “peer into a decadent dreamworld laced with a mesmerizing blend of stunning circus, shining chanteuses, brilliant burlesque, classical dance, and lavish design.”

Roku has revealed that Kathryn Hahn and J.K. Simmons have joined the third season of the Emmy Award-nominated Roku Original series Die Hart.
Tony Cavalero and Anna Garcia will also come on board as cast members for the new season. The series will premiere exclusively on The Roku Channel on Friday, December 13.
The new cast members will join series veterans Kevin Hart and Nathalie Emmanuel, both of whom were nominated for Emmy Awards for their outstanding performances in the first two seasons.
In the third season, Kevin Hart is done with the action — what he really wants is critical success. But acclaimed director Jackson Pepper’s (J.K. Simmons) help hurts, thrusting Kevin and Jordan (Nathalie Emmanuel) onto the wrong kind of “most wanted” list.

No Netflix series besides Bridgerton has more than one entry on Netflix’s Most Popular English-Language Series List. Shondaland’s Regency-era romance now has three, with Season 3 pushing down Baby Reindeer to enter the list at No. 10 with 91.90 million views half-way through its initial 91-day window. It joins Season 1, which is at No. 4 with 113.30M views and Season 2 at No. 9 with 93.80M views.
“We are grateful for the incredible response Bridgerton has received from fans all around the globe,” the series’ executive producer Shonda Rhimes said. “Shondaland is so proud that audiences far and wide have connected with our storytelling and the Bridgerton world we have built. We look forward to bringing more of this beloved universe to screens for years to come.”
Bridgerton has currently been renewed through Season 4, and Rhimes has said that she and her team have talked about the future through Season 6 or Season 7.
Rhimes shook up the TV business when she left her longtime home at Disney in 2017 for a mega overall deal at Netflix. All five seasons of Shondaland series released under the deal to date — Bridgerton seasons 1-3, prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story as well as another limited series, the contemporary true crime tale Inventing Anna — have spent time on Netflix’s Most Popular List. Queen Charlotte entered it July 23, 2023 at No. 10 with 80.30M views and remained on it for 28 weeks, with its final tally at 81.3M views; Inventing Anna landed on the list in March 2022 under a different methodology. Next up for the company is the White House murder mystery series The Residence.
Bridgerton‘s third season also extended the series’ status as a pop culture phenomenon which it claimed virtually overnight when it launched Christmas Day 2020 as a much needed respite from Covid.
In the 45 days since the debut of Bridgerton‘s S3A, the romance drama has amassed 5.7 billion owned impressions, making it Netflix’s second-most talked-about series or film behind only Stranger Things 4 and ahead of Wednesday, the No. 2 and No. 1 shows on Netflix’s most popular English list. Over that period, the social footprint of the show and its stars also grew by double or triple digits as did sales of Romancing Mister Bridgerton, on which the new season is based.
The halo effect extended to the Season 3 music, with Vitamin String Quartet’s renditions of “Happier Than Ever,” “Cheap Thrills” and “Dynamite” as well as the original songs all spiking on Spotify as much as +11,000%. The cover of Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything,” used in the famous carriage scene, has gone viral on TikTok, reaching No. 1 on the Global Spotify Viral Chart 13 years after its original release.

Supported by the biggest promotional campaign in the series’ history with red carpet premieres and immersive fan events in 10 countries around the globe, Season 3 also helped Bridgerton solidify its transformation from a TV title to a lifestyle brand with new product partnerships, including food, beverage (International Delight), pet accessories (Maxbone), home decor (Ruggable), beauty, fragrance (Bath & Body Works), fashion and lifestyle. They join such Bridgerton partners as Williams Sonoma, Allure Bridal, The Knot and fabric house Liberty.
Dyi Bridgerton styles also have been on the rise, with Pinterest searches for “Bridgerton tea party” recently surging +622%, “Bridgerton aesthetic” +359% and “Bridgerton outfit” +239%.
Here are some Spotify stats since the Season 3 premiere on May 16:

Dead Boy Detectives was initially developed for television by HBO Max in 2021. After a long and winding road of purgatory, the series eventually is reaching Netflix in early 2023. (Please note that this has nothing to do with Netflix licensing Max properties as of late.) The adaptation of DC Comics has a cult following that can tap into every popular young demographic.
Now, every comic book property will continuously develop in the ever-competitive streaming landscape. This makes it more surprising how ordinary, at times, Dead Boy Detectives can be, considering Netflix’s binge model. Dead Boy Detectives is like a purgatory Hardy Boys procedural, with the boys trying to solve a new case weekly.
However, as the series progresses, you see its overall potential. You hope the streaming giant will allow Dead Boy Detectives to achieve that potential.

For their second appearance as musical guests on Saturday Night Live, LCD Soundsystem decided to perform two deep cuts from their discography.
The Brooklyn indie outfit spearheaded by James Murphy kicked off their set with the industrial-tinged “Thrills” before returning to the stage for a funky synth performance of their hit “Yr City’s A Sucker”— both from their self-titled 2005 album.
LCD Soundsystem also made an in-sketch appearance as a gang of Guardian Angels in the “Subway Churro” musical:

Back in 2018, news broke that Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson was to stay aboard for Marvel Studios’ planned sequel to its 2016 blockbuster, with Benedict Cumberbatch also reprising his role as the Sorcerer Supreme.
Entitled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the project was touted as the MCU’s first horror movie, which seemed about right because Derrickson had originally come into the fold with a background in genre filmmaking. He’d already helmed the likes of Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose, so he could likely balance the craft of unsettling audiences whilst maintaining a firm grasp on the Master of the Mystic Arts’ ongoing evolution.
Except it didn’t work out. Derrickson left the sequel in January, 2020 citing “creative differences” along with his writing partner C. Robert Cargill. A month later, Loki scribe Michael Waldron was brought in to write on the film, and he was also...

Rlje Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, and Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, have acquired the North American rights to the horror/action film, Great White from Altitude Film Sales. Rlje Films plans to release the film in theaters this summer with Shudder premiering the film on its platform later in the year.
Written by Michael Boughen (Dying Breed) and directed by Martin Wilson in his feature debut, Great White stars Katrina Bowden, Aaron Jakubenko (“Tidelands”), Kimie Tsukakoshi (Riptide), Tim Kano (“Neighbours”), and Te Kohe Tuhaka.
“We’ve all been afraid to go back into the water since 1975 and Great White is going to keep us out of the water for years to come,” says Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer at Rlje Films. “There is no better time than the summer to bring this suspenseful and terrifying new film to audiences.”

Greta is garbage. I don’t feel like I should have to say much more than that because then I would be putting in more effort than director Neil Jordan did into his bland thriller. Greta is the stuff of suburban legend—the story people who have never been to the city tell each other about how dangerous and psychotic metropolitan areas are. Your good, old-fashioned values from [checks notes] Boston won’t save you here, Frances (Chloe Grace Moretz). Trying to do a good deed will only draw you into a psychopath’s game. And that’s really …

‘The Devil’s Candy’ Blasts Genre Thrills and the Devil’s Music Into Your Heathen SoulThe director of ‘The Loved Ones’ returns with another intense and suspenseful thriller.
Writer/director Sean Byrne’s debut feature, The Loved Ones, blew festival audiences (including us) away back in 2009 with thrills and suspense born from seeing a character we truly cared about fighting for his life against increasingly twisted and violent odds. It took three years before it actually opened in the Us, but it was worth the wait. Now Byrne’s equally intense follow-up film is finally being released… after premiering at film fests nearly two years ago.
Once again though, The Devil’s Candy is a blistering, intimate, heavy metal-tinged horror/thriller worth waiting for as it drops a loving family into a devilish nightmare where each violent chord brings them closer to a grim and grisly fate.
Jesse (Ethan Embry), Astrid (Shiri Appleby), and their teenage daughter...

Cheap Thrills – the movie so nice, I reviewed it twice! And by nice, I mean “absolutely bonkers, brutally honest, and disgustingly entertaining,” of course. You didn’t actually think a dark thriller sporting Troma roots would be missing a wicked sense of humor, completed by aided visual extravagance – did you? Scribes Trent Haaga and David Chirchirillo attack current economical troubles and societal selfishness by playing a mindless bar game that turns into a gruesome fight for normalcy – not millions, just enough to squeak by. Director E.L. Katz values human lives with measly dollar amounts, but our characters become fixated on surviving the night with handfuls of cash – a beautiful character breakdown that darkly questions our own moral judgement. Can one seriously monetarily evaluate a human life?

Two weeks from now Sdcc 2013 will be winding down, so are there enough horror offerings to entice attendees back to the show for Day 4 (July 21)? With "Supernatural" kicking things off bright and early, we say, "Yes!"
Also on the schedule for Sunday (traditionally the family-themed day of the event) are "Under the Dome," an update on the adaptation of George R.R. Martin's werewolf/Pi/serial killer mashup novella The Skin Trade, a chance to build your own monster, surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, a Neil Gaiman Spotlight panel, a look at what's coming from Diamond Select Toys, a how-to on creating suspenseful, exciting, anxiety-inducing stories, and per usual, a screening of "Buffy the Musical: Once More with Feeling" to close things out.
Since the horror offerings are so light, we've expanded our Day 4 highlights list to cover such topics as the future of sci-fi novels, the 50th anniversary of "Doctor Who,...

The new issue of Empire hits the stands today, and behind that rather snazzy Daniel Craig cover lies an in-depth look at Skyfall, the new James Bond film that is shaping up to be one of the biggest movies of the year. Our Dan Jolin visited the film's set and spoke to those involved, and here's what director Sam Mendes had to say.And it sounds like he's having fun. "There's an enormous amount of pleasure in making a movie where I don't feel like I'm having to walk a knife-edge between genres or work in shades of grey. Thrills and action are what's necessary here, and that's what I intend to supply, as well as a kind of emotional engagement that maybe you haven't seen before in Bond. You've got to give him an arc, not just a mission."But specifics! We want specifics! Here's a taste of the film's early stages.
