The John Denver Show

C'mon -Why aren't these these lovely old shows on DVD??

Recently I purchased a DVD of that long forgotten BBC '70s comedy show,"The Goodies" and was more than pleased at the loving care that had been taken to dust off the old videotapes and re-present them for a nostalgia-starved. Gen X.I have fond memories as a kid of these old Denver specials from the '70s -especially the one, with Lily Tomlin as the 'Fame Fairy'in one very amusing sketch. These shows, produced during the height of Denver's fame, were made with good production values and lovely sets to showcase the floppy haired one's unique talents.People rubbish Denver as a lightweight, but small clips of these old shows confirm what a talent he had for performing his lovely melodies in a sincere and communicative way in front of a camera.People forget that 65 million people saw 'Rocky Mountain Christmas' when it was first telecast.C'mon-that's got to translate into decent sales purely from the Baby Boomer/Gen X nostalgia factor alone. So come on,ABC et al-put these old Denver specials on DVD.The 70s MUST rise again!
