Male fans have it even worse, with any interest assumed to be sexual – either an indication of homosexuality or a cartoon bestiality fetish with disturbingly paedophilic overtones. Such a gendered reaction to a show featuring six female protagonists that preaches acceptance and love is an unfortunate reflection of toxic masculinity seeping into all stages of life. It’s sad that, to some, these conclusions are more...

Ashleigh Ball and Donald Rhoades in A Brony Tale (2014)
'A Brony Tale' Trailer Exposes Obsessive 'My Little Pony' Fans
Ashleigh Ball and Donald Rhoades in A Brony Tale (2014)
While Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony was a kind and gentle whitewash of the Brony subculture, never addressing the jumbo elephant in the room, maybe A Brony Tale will expose this fanbase of 13-30 year old males who are obsessed with the animated series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Or maybe not. Ashleigh Ball, who voices Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash on the popular Hub show sets out to find why these guys are so consumed with something meant for 2-11 year old children. For All Those Guys Who Love 'My Little Pony' ...
Mon petit poney (1986)
Secaucus, N.J. — Dale Fjordbotten is a proud "My Little Pony" fan, with the shiny blue body suit and yellow lightning bolt, blue wings and blue tail to prove it.

Like many "Bronies" – boys and men who like the cartoon "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"_ the 25-year-old college student turned out over the weekend for "BronyCon Summer 2012" at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, which drew 4,000 men, women, boys and girls, many in colorful wigs and costumes.

"I thought about what people would say. `It's creepy. It's weird. It's a ... show for little girls,'" said Fjordbotten, from Staten Island, N.Y. "It's just a great show ... the story line, the plot, the beautiful animation."

Bronies say they're a misunderstood lot who've gotten a bad rap from the media. They're all about the show, friendship, love and tolerance, and they have no bad intentions, they say.

"I discovered that there's nothing...

Film-Inspired Cocktails: Hop
Ever think you'd be saying "bottoms up" over an Easter Bunny film? Mixologist Lynnette Marrero's clever twist on a classic cocktail will make you reconsider.

Rabbits have a bit of a bad rap as pets-they're often biters, scratchers, and appear cuddlier than they actually are-but they tend to receive an even worse representation in film.

The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog from Monty Python and The Holy Grail is described as "the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on."

The perpetually tardy White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland seems to be the ideal candidate for a Xanax prescription, so frazzled at one point in the film that he can't tell newcomer Alice from his usual maid Mary Ann.

And then there's Bugs Bunny. Those irritating catch phrases! That too-cool-for-school attitude! And his nerve-grating nasal tone! Rabbits...
