ITV has just finished briefing staff on a major overhaul of its daytime schedule, which will dramatically scale back the airtime devoted to shows like Loose Women and Lorraine.

ITV will make more than 220 redundancies under the sweeping changes, but it has promised to reinvest all savings into more streaming-friendly content, including drama and sport.

That 220 figure represents around half the 450 employees who produce output across ITV Studios-made Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women.

Major broadcast networks are re-evaluating their schedules as viewers watch more content online. Topical daytime shows are expensive to make and do not have the online shelf-life of big-ticket dramas and documentaries, meaning they are being scaled back as media companies switch strategy.

As reported by Yahoo!, guest host Kate Garraway asked Cleese if he would consider appearing in a reality TV show, like The Traitors. “Only if I went completely mad, “Cleese responded. “I can’t imagine anything more awful. And you get offered so much money. (But) I couldn’t stand the humiliation.”

Garraway mentioned that she has appeared on several of these shows, adding “so we’ve got off to a great start, haven’t we?” Although she somehow restrained herself from pointing out that she perhaps doesn’t need lessons in avoiding career humiliation from the fifth-billed star of Daddy Daughter Trip.

Big Thief have shared a remastered reissue of their 2016 debut album Masterpiece, out now via 4Ad.

When Big Thief released Masterpiece in 2016, they seemingly became indie rock royalty overnight. The Brooklyn-based band recorded the album in July 2015 at a makeshift studio in an old lakehouse with producer Andrew Sarlo and engineer James Krivchenia, the latter of whom would go on to become Big Thief’s full-time drummer.

Though its title could be used to describe the quality of the record itself, vocalist Adrianne Lenker says Masterpiece refers to “the masterpiece of existence, which is always folding into itself, people attempting to connect, to both shake themselves awake and to shake off the numbness of certain points in their life. The interpretations might be impressionistic or surrealistic, but they’re grounded in simple things.”

He’ll work closely with Sky Studios’ editorial and commissioning teams across Europe. He’ll also take charge of the international scripted team, which is currently headed by Jason Simms in the UK and LA-based SVP Rebecca Segal, accorifn to an internal note from Sky Studios COO Caroline Cooper seen by Deadline. The Canadian hitmaker appeared on U.K. morning show “Lorraine” to chat about her new album Queen of Me on Thursday, with host Lorraine Kelly asking about her Lyme disease battle.

She recalled of having to have open-throat surgery, “It was quite depressing, devastating to imagine that I would never sing again.

Time’s Up U.K. has issued a statement regarding actor John Barrowman’s appearance on a British talk show, in which he claimed that repeatedly exposing his penis on set and in interviews “absolutely is not” sexual harassment.

There have been multiple reports of Barrowman, who has appeared in shows including “Doctor Who” and “Torchwood,” exposing himself publicly for over a decade. On Tuesday, the Scottish-born American actor appeared on ITV’s “Lorraine” to discuss the incidents, which he admitted to, albeit with various caveats.

Public service broadcaster ITV has been found in breach of fairness rules around competitions involving members of the public, U.K. media regulator Ofcom has found.

An Ofcom investigation found that some 41,000 viewers who had entered competitions between 2016-2019 with postal votes were excluded from prize draws. The ITV competitions involved include “Good Morning Britain,” “Lorraine,” “This Morning,” “Loose Women,” “Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway,” “La Vuelta” and “X Factor: The Band.”

The breach was noticed by ITV, and after an internal process of examination, the broadcaster referred the matter to Ofcom, thus prompting the investigation.

“Our investigation found that people who entered these competitions by post were excluded from the draw, with no chance of winning,” an Ofcom spokesperson said. “ITV failed to follow proper procedures and this led to a clear breach of our rules, which require all broadcast competitions to be conducted fairly.”

“She’s so fantastic,” Roberts gushed to the UK’s ITV show “Lorraine” while promoting “Ben Is Back,” revealing that she got tongue-tied when they met. “I actually had the good fortune of meeting her briefly, kind of getting a couple of words out of my mouth towards her at the Golden Globes. Fergie is back on the music scene with her new album, Double Dutchess. But like many working moms, she has dealt with her fair share of guilt while balancing parenthood and a career.

“It’s the worst,” admitted the 42-year-old pop singer of the guilt she feels during a Friday visit to ITV’s Lorraine.

Fergie shares 4-year-old son Axl Jack with Josh Duhamel, whom she split from earlier this year after eight years of marriage.

“I remember going to the studio the first couple of times and sobbing in the car. It was the weirdest thing ever,” she adds.

It’s going on 12 years since Christopher Eccleston bid farewell to Doctor Who, but it seems the English thesp still has a strong opinion on the BBC’s sci-fi flagship.

Gerard Butler is fast becoming a frequent flyer at emergency rooms around the country.

The Scottish actor, 47, was recently hospitalized after being injured in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles, but he told Lorraine Kelly on her U.K. talk show Lorraine this was actually the third time in the past year that he has been hospitalized.

Prior to his motorcycle crash, the star went to the hospital twice after he decided to try an unusual pain remedy – injecting bee venom.

Will & Grace is nothing if not a staunch proponent of using proper protection. Case in point: The revived NBC comedy has tapped sitcom vet Kyle Bornheimer (Casual, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) to guest-star in one episode as a security guard, TVLine has learned.

NBC confirms that Bornheimer will appear in the premiere as Lenny, a security officer who (presumably) crosses paths with one or more of the Fab Four. The network declined to provide further details about his role.
