    Truly awful!

This "comedy" just brought to the attention of the country that RTE cannot do comedy (they rejected Father Ted for god's sake). The premise is simple, a working class family win the lotto & move into a nice area, & it then turns into The Beverly Hillibillies! The writing was dire & I for one was glad when it ended!

    Not Bad

I watched it as a kid and its Not bad it's a harmless 20 mind it could be a bit better you look at parts and say there could be a funny joke or gag there but there's not. My house looked like the main characters in the 90s so I have a fondness for the show and my mom is common as muck haha . It has that really old school nostalgia vibe to it, of its Time Dublin Ireland of yesteryear long gone, there is 47 episodes 3 seasons and three Xmas specials. For anyone wondering, also RTÉ nó longer has copy's of the show so hears hoping someone has VHS copy's.

Dreadful show. A typical Irish embarrassment.

Don't worry, I'm allowed to say that; I am Irish. Although with lousy sitcoms like this under out belt I say it with some modesty. The writing was, how should I put it... sh*t. The acting was fairly uninspired, and frankly this never should have been inflicted on the public. Another reviewer hit the nail on the head about Irish sitcoms; There's never been a good one (at least none that I've seen) bar Father Ted, and even that one had to be taken to Channel 4 in Britain, because RTE didn't want to know (probably because of the lack of respect for the Catholic church involved, or maybe it was just too good for their tastes. Mind you, they changed their tune once that show became a hit). So RTE prefer to churn out dire swill like this. Its laughable, but not in a good way.

    Great Underrated

They rejected Father Ted and made this but quite frankly I find this more entertaining and strangely enough this ran longer than Father Ted. Why is it never repeated because RTE doesn't repeat anything, anything at all ever expect movies. Why did RTE turn down Father Ted because we're a Catholic nation and they definitely didn't want to make a TV show about insulting and making fun of nuns Bishops and and and Pope's and priest's. Father Ted shows the Irish people as stupid. Anyhow back to upwardly mobile two common as muck characters win the lotto and moving beside two stuck up characters, In the end they both depend on each other.
