"For production reasons, I shot the first scene with Stefano Accorsi and Laura Morante making love," says director Michele Placido. "And since I hate those films where the actors are undressed from the waist up and maybe even have their trousers on underneath the sheets, I did the opposite: no panties! I forced Laura and Stefano to play a big sex scene on the first day with nothing on underneath. And I shot a lot of material that I then had to cut out, with everything that could be seen". "It wasn't easy to get Laura to agree to shoot this scene from the start; a film crew is still a patrol of about thirty people, and it's certainly not the most intimate place in the world. But in the end I convinced her, and I think the scene came out stronger and more convincing thanks also to the fact that Laura and Stefano were naked underneath".
