Katherine Kelly Lang
‘B&b’ Spoilers Tuesday, March 25: Brooke Begs For Another Chance
Katherine Kelly Lang
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, reveal Brooke doing what Brooke does best and pleading with Ridge to take her back.

Brooke’s Humiliation Again?

And just like that, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) reverts to form and begs Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) to consider taking her back. Ridge reverts to form and isn’t quite sure what to say.

Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) also reverts to form when she walks in on the conversation in Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) office.

Ridge, Taylor, and Brooke have all done this countless times before and are about to go through the same cycle again.

The only reason that Ridge and Taylor are even together now is because Ridge was sure that Taylor became Forrester Creations CEO to stab him and his family in the back. Now that he knows and believes what Brooke has really been up to,...

5 reasons why The Lego Movie is awesome
With a title like “The Lego Movie”, most potential audience members will probably have made up their minds one way or the other. The film itself shows that you can't judge a film by its title; unless you think it's going to be awesome, in which case you happen to be right. It seems that many people did expect it to be awesome, going by the film's box office. But really, The Lego Movie will appeal to anyone who likes creativity (which should, in theory, be anyone who's a fan of cinema). And here's why...

It's from the directors of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was a terrifically inventive ode to geeky enthusiasm (a scientist is hailed as a hero for making it rain cheeseburgers), with a goofy wit, stylish cinematography (or whatever the animated equivalent is), and one of the most oddly...

10 Characters Joss Whedon Might Kill Off In Avengers: Age of Ultron
The Internet rumour mill has been working overtime the last few weeks, what with the shock announcement that Ben Affleck will be playing the new Batman, and Joss Whedon’s rather sly insinuation that a popular character might be dying off in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Whedon has prior stated that the sequel will feature “death, death, death”, though later explained that he’d have to find a damn good reason to kill one of The Avengers off, given how much they mean monetarily to Marvel Studios, as well as to fans. Fair play to Joss for not letting the cat entirely out of the bag two years before release, but it’s fair to expect that, in true Whedon style, a likable character is going to meet a grim end before the film’s over.

Given that Loki has already been confirmed not to appear in the movie – as...

3 Clips for Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
ABC has released three fun new clips for Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers spin-off series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The titles of the clips are The Saga Continues, We Stand a Chance and They Stand Together. I've heard good things about the pilot episode, I'm excited to finally get to watch it myself, and I hope it contains all of those things that we love about Whedon's shows. The series is set to premiere on September 24th! Do you think the show is going to be a hit or a bomb?

Important note -- to be able to watch the clips you're ad blocker will need to be turned off.

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe,...

'The Vampire Diaries' recap: Marshmallow metaphors, ghost roasting, and a very special guest star
I have to say, I'm surprised it took six episodes, but we're now officially embroiled in "The Vampire Diaries" ghost story... and the Mikael story... and the sire story... and the Ripper story... seriously, how does this show have so much going on all at once? Remember when it was about a girl who fell in love with a vampire and had to deal with his pain-in-the-butt brother?

I'm kidding, Damon fans. Retract your claws!

Tonight's episode was another one that left us reeling, and despite all the action, it also gave us a chance to really savor performances and small character moments... and we finally got a full introduction to the new (and improved, if you ask me) version of a certain Stefan Salvatore.

Time to jump in... or back-handspring in, as the case may be.

Previously on "The Vampire Diaries": Matt committed suicide so he'd be able to see Vicki,...

The Punisher TV Series Lands at Fox
Good news and bad news, comic book fanboys. After three failed attempts on the big screen, everyone’s favorite vigilante is giving TV a shot. The good news is that The Punisher is back, and he’s found a TV show on a major network. The bad news? That major network is Fox, which is notorious for greenlighting genre shows only to cancel them faster than you can say, “Oh come on, give it a Chance already!” I need not remind Joss Whedon’s legion of fans about the fickle nature of Fox. “The Punisher” TV series, from “Criminal Minds” showrunner Ed Bernero, will divert from the comic book somewhat, though that’s to be expected. The vigilante ex-Marine will now instead be “a rising star detective with the New York Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher, seeking justice for those the system has failed.” His name, though,...

Alona Tal Previews Her Supernatural Return and Dean and Jo's Unresolved Feelings
Michael Madsen, Olesya Rulin, Sharlto Copley, Logan Browning, Susan Heyward, and Raul Casso in Powers (2015)
Last time we saw hunter Jo Harvelle in Season 5 of Supernatural, she was sacrificing herself for the greater good as hellhounds descended upon her rigged-to-blow hideout. But in this week’s episode (Friday, 9/8c on The CW), Jo returns much more at peace, says her portrayer Alona Tal. It helps that she’s, you know, dead.

TVLine chatted with Tal about what brings Jo back to the Supernatural world (duh, Dean), her final moments pre-death — yes, we’re talking about that kiss! — and her buzzy new FX pilot Powers.

Doctor Who fan Charlie McDonnell gets 1m regular YouTube viewers
Charlie McDonnell, aka charlieiscoollike, has become the first British person to get a million regular viewers on YouTube, with his videos having received more than 170m views in total to date.

As another, more evil, Doctor, Austin Powers’ Dr. Evil, would say, “One meeeiiillion viewers…”

Charlie McDonnell is a member of the Trock (or Time Lord Rock) band Chameleon Circuit, which sings songs about how awesome Doctor Who is. Their songs, individually and collectively, are published by the brilliantly named record label Don’t Forget to Be Awesome. (Incidentally, this is a phrase that, probably inadvertently, sums up Echo’s character arc in Dollhouse.)

Charlieissocoollike’s videos (Doctor Who-related or otherwise), are, as with Chameleon Circuit's songs, wonderfully funny, catchy, and uncynical. Kind of like the Muppets, if the Muppets were Doctor Who characters. And thanks to the magic of the internet, behold:

As the Doctor might say: “The internet…...

Jane Espenson: Once Upon a Torchwood Web Series
Jane Espenson has an incredible resume; after working as writer or producer on what seems like every genre show *ever* (seriously, how does she find the time? Does she have a Tardis?), she's about to get even busier. Today, she announced via Twitter that she would be working on Once Upon a Time, a fantasy TV series picked up by ABC earlier this week. Once Upon a Time stars Jennifer Morrison, a series regular on House and most recently seen on How I Met Your Mother, as a bail bondsman in the town of Storybrooke, surrounded by fairy tale characters engaged in a grim (!) battle for the future. Once Upon a Time also stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Robert Carlyle, and Pirates of the Caribbean’s Lee Arenberg. It was created by Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis, executive producers of Lost and screenwriters of Tron: Legacy.

Then Ms. Espenson tweeted that...

Party Favors: Neither Rain Nor Sleet…
Fuquay-varina - It was a speedy two days with major stars dropping into my neighborhood.

On a Thursday night the man who made predicted FedEx arrived at a Durham library. Mister McFeely (David Newell) still fits in his Speedy Delivery uniform and hat as he greeted Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood fans of all ages. Most of the ages were under seven. Luckily I had brought along a little kid in order not to stick out.

McFeely was at the end of a weeklong tour around the state to touch base with the kids. Lately whenever any star of kid focused tv shows comes to town, it’s part of some over inflated media spectacular stage show at the sports arena. There’s singing, dancing, indoor fireworks and motorcycle stunts meant to dazzle a three year old. Plus there’s a $18 convenience charge on the tickets. But this was not McFeely’s type of entertainment.

'Terra Nova,' 'Glee,' 'Human Target': Notes from Fox's press tour
Fox's sci-fi adventure "Terra Nova" will get the "Glee" treatment next spring.

The Steven Spielberg-produced show, about a group of people from the year 2149 who travel back in time to prehistoric Earth to look for keys to saving the damaged planet, will get a preview in May 2011 before premiering the following fall. Fox used a similar strategy to launch "Glee" last year.

Jason O'Mara ("Life on Mars") has been cast in the lead role of Jim Shannon, who travels with his family back to the past. "Terra Nova" will film in Australia and feature a multitude of visual effects shots, so the extra time (it was initially slated for earlier in 2011) will only help.

Brannon Braga ("24," "Star Trek: Enterprise") and David Fury ("24," "Angel") created the show and are executive producing with Spielberg and Peter Chernin.

- The network handed out the first "Glee" novel to reporters Monday (Aug. 2), and...

2010 Upfronts - Fox's 2010-2011 Schedule
As in most years, last season was a pretty good one for Fox, largely because of the declining "American Idol." It was also helped by the new darling hit "Glee" (although I know many people, myself included, have jumped off the bandwagon, and I predict a strong ratings dip next year), and that show has been rewarded with the precious post-Super Bowl spot next February. And while "Human Target" hasn't been a particularly strong critical or ratings boon, it's been a solid little piece of entertainment which the network saw fit to give a second season to.

Speaking of second seasons, Fox gave an uncharacteristic one to "Dollhouse" which was creatively intriguing and ratings deprived, so yet another Joss Whedon show is no more. "Brothers" and "Sons of Tucson" have now been officially canceled, although we knew that was coming for quite some time. So too has "The Wanda Sykes Show" been canceled,...

Fox Releases 2010-2011 Primetime Schedule
Fox unveils 2010-2011 primetime schedulePeter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the Fox primetime schedule for the 2010-2011 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at The New Beacon Theatre.

"Fox has been the No. 1 network for six consecutive seasons not only because our programs are hits, but also because they're the most engaging shows on television," said Rice. "We're very excited to add a full slate of creative, original new series next season that will help us continue to capture imaginations and draw people back to Fox week after week."

"Last season, we did what Fox does best: we took some risks that paid off. Now we're going to up the ante with an even more diverse and creative roster of programs for next year," said Reilly. "With three daring new dramas, a fresh...

New Series Breakdown: Fox
The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with first announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the list over on Fox.

While the numbers overall slipped a bit this past season for the Murdoch network, it still attracts the most people in the key 18-49 demographic. "American Idol" remains a powerhouse and has weathered Ellen DeGeneres replacing Paula Abdul without issue, however with Simon Cowell departing next season many are wondering how big an impact that will have (Cowell's "The X Factor" starts up on the network next Fall).

"Bones" is arguably the safest drama series of the network right now, the show consistently rating between 9-11 million viewers and hasn't dropped off any of its viewership at all despite approaching the end of its fifth season. "House" remains a powerhouse but its heady days of 20-25 million...

And two of those shows, Lonestar and Terra Nova, caught our attention immediately. The first sounds like a contemporary version of Dallas, while the second is basically The Time Tunnel meets Jurassic Park.

Straight off, here's how the network describes both of those series.

Lonestar, a sophisticated and provocative drama set against the sprawling backdrop of big Texas oil, will premiere this fall. From Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman (Party of Five), writer Kyle Killen and directed by Marc Webb ((500) Days of Summer), the compelling series stars newcomer James Wolk as a charismatic and brilliant schemer who has entangled himself in a deep, complex web from which he can’t break free.

In the Right Direction
As the ambiguous saying goes, "It takes all kinds." When it comes to directors, it seems Olivia Williams has worked with all kinds. Currently she stars in Roman Polanski's newest project, "The Ghost Writer," playing Ruth Lang, the wife of a British prime minister. As it happens, years ago when Williams auditioned for and won admission to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she used Alan Bennett's monologue "Her Big Chance," about an extra whose greatest role was one of the wenches in Roman Polanski's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles." The character has delusions of having a chat with said director. Today, Williams can recount many such chats, additionally having been given insight into his directorial processes."When he can, Roman will rehearse the night before," she reveals. "You go into a soulless hotel room, and he says, 'Start reading.' And you get through about the first half-sentence,...

Celebrity Biography: Amber Benson
Amber Nicole Benson was born on January 8, 1977, to Edward and Diane Benson, and today is an actress, screenwriter, producer, director, playwright, and author who's most famous for her role as Tara Maclay on the long-running television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (TV). Benson was both born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, and it was there that she first discovered her interest in the arts, as she studied dance, music, and acting. "When I was a little kid I saw The Nutcracker Suite and desperately wanted to get on the stage," Benson told AfterEllen.com. "That was the beginning of the end for me." A family move to Orlando, Florida led to several opportunities, but work and success followed yet another move, this time to Los Angeles. Benson was still in her teens when her acting career started to take off. She played Nicole Reed in several made-for-tv Jack Reed movies starring Brian Dennehy,...

‘Horrible Turn’: Not Whedon…But It Could Be
"Don't let the bright lights and loud sounds fool you. This is fan art, not the work of Joss Whedon." Why did Billy Boy want to give Penny keys to a shiny new Australia? What's the deal with Johnny Snow? Why the heck do people like Captain Hammer so damn much anyway? Answers to all these questions and more are now just a click away. Shot in several locations around Houston, Texas, Horrible Turn tells the story of Billy Boy before he receives his PhD in Horribleness...you know, high school. It features 12 original songs, a talented cast of young performers, enough insider Whedon jokes to please the brownest of Browncoats and the Guildies. Oh yeah, and it's completely fan created. Tubefilter had a chance to catch up with Chance McClain who directed, co-wrote, and co-produced this intrepid not-actually-canon-but-darn-good prequel. "We had a vision and fought to bring it to light at any cost,...

'Dr. Horrible' prequel is fan-made -- and fantastic
If you thought you were a big Dr. Horrible fan, well, you're in for a treat -- and a dressing down. A treat because this full-length prequel, "Horrible Turn," is stellar; and a dressing down because it's fan-made. Yes, it's true: This epic backstory isn't technically part of the Official Whedon Oeuvre -- in fact, no one involved had ever worked on a movie at all. Director Chance McClain tells us in an e-mail that he loved the original Dr. Horrible both for its music and "the renegade way Joss Whedon and company went about putting it out," so he...

Watching the Emmys
So another year has passed and its time for another round of awards for the people who make the television shows we like to watch.

Television is interesting these days. Never before have we seen such great, creative output. Never before have we been subjected to such drivel. It all gets paraded before us tonight, as we watch the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards (handed out, it should be noted, by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) on CBS, CTV in Canada.

8:00

Interesting that the Emmys chose to introduce the 2009 edition of the Primetime awards by harkening back to the early days of television. Especially as the business of television has never been closer to a complete collapse. Oh, announcer who is trying so hard to sound like a TV host from the '50s. You don't sound at all like you're a three pack-a-day smoker.

8:01

Okay, here comes Neil Patrick Harris,...

‘Human Target’ Gets A Premiere Date
While the news broke today that Fox had canceled “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” after two seasons, there were also some beginnings announced today to balance out the endings. The network released its 2009-2010 programming schedule, and there are a few items that should interest comic fans immensely.

First and foremost is the announcement of an official premiere date for “Human Target,” the series based on the DC/Vertigo comics and starring Mark Valley (”Fringe”) as a bodyguard who masquerades as his clients in order to draw out the bad guys. The first episode will air on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 8 Pm Est.

Last week, we caught our first glimpse of Valley as the hero of the series, Christopher Chance, in a photo from the celebrated pilot episode of the series. “Watchmen” star Jackie Earle Haley will also have a featured role in the series. Here’s the official synopsis of...

Weekly TV Wrap Up - May 14th, 2009
Today’s Weekly TV Wrap Up will have a little One Tree Hill (Something a bit new, but a reader asked about the show.), some more on Dollhouse after the finale and Lie To Me news. We also touch on David E. Kelley’s disappointment, the dumping of a few shows by NBC and how Fox seems to be treating Ronald D. Moore’s Virtuality just like Dollhouse, but worse - If you can imagine that. I also have some David Tennant news for you.

Despite the season finales, it’s a bit of a quiet week for me. Of course, I have the TV ratings from last week and a bit of a surprise at the end of the post, if you make it that far.

Shall we get on with it?

One Tree Hill (Might Be Considered Spoilers)

It looks as if Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton...

Amber Benson ('Death's Daughter', 'Drones', 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer')
Interview by Nic Brown

It is easy for an actress to become stereotyped into one sort of role. This can be especially true when the actress in question is best known for her role in show with a cult following as strong as Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But actress Amber Benson who played Tara Maclay, a fan favorite and part of one of the first openly gay couples on mainstream television, is no ordinary actress. In fact, just calling her an actress is selling her talents short. While still working on Buffy, Amber wrote and directed her first feature film: Chance. She hasn’t limited herself to film and television either. Amber has also co-written the Ghosts of Albion series as well as a number of graphic novels with writer Chris Golden and she’s just released her first solo novel Death’s Daughter...

Stars in Rewind: In Memory of Andy Hallett
Movies and television might be two separate entities, but over and over they intersect, and bad news to one is most often bad news for both. Like news from E Online that Andy Hallett has passed away after a 5-year battle with heart disease at the way-too-young age of 33. Hallett was a big part of the Joss Whedon universe, playing a bit part on Buffy, and then the much more green and recognizable Lorne on Angel.

After leaving the world of vampires, Hallett spent most of his energy on his music, but he did pop up in two films. His voice was featured in 2005's Gepetto's Secret, and his lone live-action feature was Chance -- fellow Buffy alum Amber Benson's feature film.

There was an undeniable sweetness to the actor, and I'm sure that if heart disease hadn't ended his life so soon, we'd have seen a lot more...
