The heroes in a half-shell try the roguelite genre on for size in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. Super Evil Megacorp's new port features enough smart ideas and frisky combat to go toe-to-toe with Tmnt's best games, even while its unimaginative permanent upgrades and currency-grinding endgame could have used a post-mobile facelift. PC players have been walled off from Tmnt: Splintered Fate until now, but the game is ultimately worth the wait, especially for longtime Turtles fans.
Originally releasing as an Apple Arcade exclusive (and eventually appearing on Nintendo Switch earlier this year), action roguelite Tmnt: Splintered Fate finds the foursome fighting their way through the periodic table of street brawler environments - sewers, docks, streets, rooftops - to rescue Splinter from a mysterious unearthly threat. Some excellent comic art, dialogue, and recognizable voices help bring the game's characters to life, delivering a genuine-feeling Tmnt experience that never...

The 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie confused fans by initially casting William Fichtner as Shredder, then changing to Tohoru Masamune. Recasting Shredder in the 2016 sequel added to the confusion and showed a lack of direction in the handling of this iconic character. The Shredder character change could have led to a better story, but the mishandling of the villain hurt the movies in the long run.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movies brought something new to the franchise, but there is one addition to the story that should have stayed on the cutting room floor. When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrived in comic book form in 1984, I don't think anyone could have said that it would be the phenomenon that it is today. Four giant turtles don't scream breakout success, at first glance. But the franchise's popularity led to numerous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adaptations. With not all created equal,...

Magneto's iconic red and purple costume needs to be the McU's default look, as proven by Jimmy's (@jcw.cosplay) incredible live-action design. Jimmy's cosplay perfectly captures Magneto's character design and powers, with help from the photographer and editor of the piece, Stan Fleming Jr. (@the_flemingphotos). As fans eagerly await the X-Men's MCU debut with hopes of a comic-accurate Magneto portrayal, Jimmy's take on the character is hands down the next best thing.
In Marvel Comics, the X-Mens most consistent foe and occasional friend, Magneto, is an Omega-level mutant with the incredible ability to manipulate any piece of metal around him, no matter how large or small, a power made even better thanks to an iconic character design that hardcore and casual fans alike immediately recognize. Dog Man has eclipsed Superman as the most popular superhero, with global book sales to prove it. Dog Man appeals to all ages with humor, integrity, and relatability in a world full of evil. Creator Dav Pikey's character design and wordplay make Dog Man stand out in the superhero world.
Over the last century, few heroes have been as successful in capturing the hearts and minds of fans as Superman. However, despite being one of the most iconic and enduring superheroes of all time, recent trends show that there's a new most popular superhero in town, and his name is Dog Man.
Dav Pikey's Dog Man follows the story of Dog Man, a superhero created after a tragic accident resulted in a police officer being surgically combined with a police dog. While the fan-favorite series has been around since 2015, it's only been over the last couple of years that Dog...

“Can they rely on the help of ‘Leonardo’, ‘Michelangelo’, ‘Raphael’ and ‘Donatello’ to save the day? Will ‘Blanka’ get along with these fellow green heroes or is the world doomed? “

Rita Repulsa is the original Power Rangers villain. While there have been plenty of foes in the series' thirty-year run, very few can compare to the first. Rita is everything that makes a good villain. She's intimidating and powerful, with a giant army at her beck and call. She has a real rivalry with the Rangers, as their mentor Zordon has stopped her before. Plus, she's got an extremely entertaining personality. She often swings from exaggerated gloating about her own genius to angry grumbles about her underlings' incompetence. However, she never could beat the Rangers.
Rita Repulsa could really use some help in her battles against the "teenagers with attitude." While she has teamed up with other Power Rangers villains, like Lord Zedd and Divatox, it would be interesting to see her team up with some other iconic villains. This isn't unheard of in the franchise, as some recent comics...

Shredder, the iconic villain in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will be 100 times scarier than Superfly in the sequel. Back in the 1990s, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was all the rage. Thanks to the hit animated series and feature film franchise, the heroes in a half-shell became one of the biggest pop culture sensations of the decade, sparking various imitators like "Biker Mice from Mars" and "Street Sharks." Created in 1984 by comic book artists Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Turtles have become a staple in pop culture and one of the most enduring media franchises across films, television, toys, and video games. They've inspired rap songs, Halloween costumes, and even thousands of dollars in collectors' auctions. It's hard not to be charmed by the hilarious banter from leader Leonardo, tech-wiz Donatello, cool-but-crude Raphael, and party dude Michelangelo, but how has such a confounding concept endured this long?
Well, no matter how malleable the characters are, the series always remains a story about family, brotherhood, and good triumphing over evil.

Plot: Follows the Turtle brothers as they work to earn the love of New York City while facing down an army of mutants.
Review: I count myself as a massive fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Whether it’s the old cartoon show, the live actions films of the 90’s, or even the original comic book. While I didn’t vibe with the Michael Bay-produced films, I’ve always loved the turtle action in them. So the fact that this one does the right thing and focuses on the titular characters versus April O’Neil, is already a massive win in my book. That’s what I want in a turtle movie and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has that in spades. And while there’s certainly a degree of origin story present, it mostly serves to reintroduce the public to this gang of green teens versus treading old ground.

It just worked so much better when he was a mutant and when he had kind of a similar backstory to the turtles. As a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film nears, it's worth looking back at the last time the franchise was introduced in theaters: producer Michael Bay's 2014 live-action Turtles reboot. While the movie did well at the box office, and many fans enjoyed the main characters' celebration of brotherhood, the film was savaged by critics for its flawed and confusing plot. One of the major problems was the perplexing depiction of the villains -- something that Mutant Mayhem, Seth Rogen's upcoming animated film, will be able to fix.
The 2014 movie features two villains working together. Shredder, the Turtles' traditional arch-enemy, is in charge of the Foot Clan, a secret criminal gang terrorizing New York City. Shredder's student and loyal follower is Eric Sacks, a famous tech CEO and mad scientist, who wants to drain the mutagen from the Turtles' blood to create a priceless healing serum. While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are famous for studying the ancient art of ninjutsu alongside the old ways of weapons training taught to them by the father and teacher, Master Splinter, their deadliest (and coolest) fighting forms aren’t based on the past, but are fully accepting of the future–and based on the current state of Tmnt canon, these Sci-Fi upgrades need to make a comeback.
In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles canon established by Idw Publishing, Master Splinter and the Ninja Turtles are the reincarnations of an ancient warrior and his sons who learned ninja-fighting techniques from the Foot Clan before they were all murdered by the villainous leader of the Foot, the Shredder. Years later, their spirits were given new life in a rat and four turtles before they were exposed to a mysterious ooze that turned them into ‘mutanimals’. Regardless of their new forms, Master...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza! remixes classics beat-em-ups while adding new content.
One dedicated fan has decided to pay tribute to the golden age of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games) by creating a brand new arcade-like Tmnt title called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue-Palooza!
While plots have rarely played a big role in Tmnt games of the past, the story of Rescue-Palooza is actually integral to the appeal of this project. See, it seems that Shredder has decided to re-ignite his rivalry with the turtles by kidnapping all of their friends over the years. Actually, he's managed to kidnap about 60 people.
The reason that number is significant is that it also represents the total number of playable characters in this game. Yes, once you rescue one of the many kidnapped characters, they can be selected via the character selection menu alongside our turtle heroes.

If anything, Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn't bonkers enough.
In the gloaming of the 21st Century’s second decade, the pop-cultural narrative has been dominated by superhero mash-ups and the idea of shared universes.
From the McU to the Dceu, from Ready Player One to Wreck-It Ralph, audiences have favoured combination over innovation. Whether you deride it as the end of culture, or forgive it as a collective grasp for familiarity in a world too mad to comprehend, it’s hard to deny that it is, for better or worse, what people want.
So it is that we find ourselves watching Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Fears of a cultural nadir aside, there’s tons to enjoy in this surprisingly apposite meeting. Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are all, at their core, city-based crimefighters with an animal theme and a plenty of martial arts moves.

Prey, also known as Indigenous, follows a group of tourists as they travel to the paradise of Panama for their post-graduation vacation. After meeting a few locals, the five friends decide to check out a supposedly magical waterfall deep in the jungle, despite others warning them of the lurking indigenous Chupacabras. After their guide vanishes, the group soon find they have fallen prey to something stalking them in the jungle.
In this day and age of instant gratification, the fact that a movie has taken two years to finally see the light of day in the UK – especially given how fast non-theatrical titles hit VOD these days – is usually a bad omen. And that’s totally true of Prey; a film which wastes 25 minutes of its already short, less than 80 minutes,...

For decades, Undertaker was deemed a legendary force at WrestleMania, but do his matches at SummerSlam back him up the same way?
For so long, the Undertaker was a starring attraction at WrestleMania due to his lengthy winning streak. Only in recent years has he been beaten by the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, two of the few wrestlers modern-day WWE cares about protecting.
WrestleMania was always the Undertaker at his strongest, where you have to be at the top of your game to defeat him. But what is the Undertaker without his mythological plot armor? Sure, he’s a top tier threat, but has SummerSlam given him the same unstoppable mystique? Well...no, not really. SummerSlam honestly hasn’t been all too good for Undertaker all in all.
Undertaker started with the WWF in the end of 1990 and he almost immediately became the company's top heel.

It's true there are slasher movies out there worse than Shredder. No budget nonsense that challenges the least discerning viewer to finish watching it.
You know exactly what I'm talking about. The kind of movie where kills happen off screen, people wander around aimlessly and the only scare comes from knowing you pissed away free time on something so banal. They've been around since the very birth of the slasher (see 1978's Savage Water, for the earliest example I'm aware of) and are made with alarming cluelessness today (The Graveyard). We'll always have terrible slasher films, as seemingly anyone can make them And get them distributed.
But Shredder's sins are perhaps the most egregious. Outfitted with a budget and a cast of working actors, equipped with technical prowess and filmmaking know how, this is still the best that co-writer/director Greg Huson could do. A mixture of horror and...
