All aboard! RuPaul is heading back to the big screen with a train-set action-comedy directed by Adam Shankman. It comes from World of Wonder with theatrical distribution by Bleecker Street planned for 2026.

Bleecker Street has teamed up with Emmy-winning media company World of Wonder to acquire North American rights to the film. The film, which is billed as the first-ever feature from the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” universe, will be released theatrically nationwide in 2026.

According to an official plot description, the film will follow “best friends Tess and DeeDee, train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express. The show is based on Eli Manning’s viral 2022 Chad Powers sketch and follows disgraced quarterback Russ Holliday (Glen Powell), who tries to reboot his career by disguising himself as the hilariously fake-but-deadly serious Chad Powers.

Mandy Moore is the latest addition to Dan Fogelman’s upcoming series set within the NFL at Hulu, Variety has confirmed.

The untitled series was originally announced in October 2024. Exact plot and character details are being kept mostly under wraps, aside from the fact the show is set inside the world of the NFL with a generational family component.

Moore will star alongside previously announced cast members Christopher Meloni and William H. Macy. Moore will play the daughter of the team owner, played by Macy. Meloni will play the head coach.

The casting marks a reunion for Moore and Fogelman, as Moore previously starred in Fogelman’s NBC drama “This Is Us” throughout its six-season run at the broadcast network. Hollywood seems to have run out of fresh ideas, and we’re living in an era when every classic show is rebooted or revived.

I loved the 1980s and 1990s television shows, but did not want to see everyone rebooted. Some were classics for a reason, and others ran long enough in their prime.

On Monday, Variety announced that a 7th Heaven reboot is in early development. Why? While I loved the first several seasons, it’s a prime example of a series that ran too long and does not need to return.

Exclusive: Monarch Media is adapting its Christian coming-of-age romance film A Week Away into a TV series starring Antonio Cipriano, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, David Koechner, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Sacha Carlson, Ava Jean, Haven Greene, Jason Marsden and Carlos PenaVega.

The series is set to be distributed by Angel Studios. Alan Powell, founding member of Christian rock group Anthem Lights and co-writer of the original film, has been tapped as the showrunner. He will also pen the series with Kali Bailey and Zuehlsdorff.

Similar to the film, which launched on Netflix in 2021, A Week Away: The Series follows a group of kids as they embark on a summer at Camp Aweegaway — a Christian camp filled with adventure, friendships, and unexpected self-discovery.

Production will take place at the same location as the original film, Nashville’s Camp Widjiwagan.

“A Week Away has been a very personal endeavor for me from the beginning,” said Powell.

People Magazine got an exclusive sneak peek at the duo's work. First up is the novel Remain, co-created by Sparks and Shyamalan. According to the outlet, Remain follows Tate Donovan, a New York architect recovering from a recent stay in a psychiatric facility after the loss of his sister.

Tate prepares to stay in Cape Cod and design a summer home for his best friend, and that's when he meets a woman who makes him question everything he thought he knew about the world. Remain will be published by Random House and released this fall.

According to reporting by Deadline, Monarch Media lined up the rights to work on the new movie. Producers Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry are returning for the new movie after working on the previous. Steve Barnett is also working on the production and was involved in the original production.

Amazon is trying to clear the air after Mandy Moore said the company delivered a package to her in-laws’ home, which was lost in the L.A. wildfires.

Earlier this week, the This Is Us star posted a photo on her Instagram Story of the package Amazon delivered to the demolished home with the text: “Do better, Amazon. Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home.”

Amazon has since apologized to the actress and is trying to figure out what happened, according to a statement sent to NBC News.

“Those who deliver on our behalf have been advised to use discretion in areas impacted by wildfires — especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home — that clearly didn’t happen here,” Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly shared.

Moore also lost her own home to the fires.

Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly going to star in a supernatural romantic thriller, a collaboration between M Night Shyamalan and novelist Nicholas Sparks.

Here’s a slightly unusual bit of news for you. Months after the release of his latest opus, Trap, M Night Shyamalan is about to make another thriller, this time starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Nothing too unusual about that, you might think. But in a cross-media twist, the project will involve Shyamalan writing the screenplay and Nicholas Sparks – independently, we might add – writing the novel.

According to Deadline, which has the exclusive, the project is a ‘supernatural romantic thriller’, and both Shyamalan and Sparks will base their respective works on the same ‘original love story’.

Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures will produce the film, which is in discussions with Warner Bros. for a theatrical release.

Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan will produce for Blinding Edge alongside Sparks’ longtime producing partner Theresa Park and Marc Bienstock. Sparks serves as executive producer.

Shyamalan’s most recent directorial effort, Trap, grossed $71.5 million worldwide last year.

Gyllenhaal will next be seen in sister Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s The Bride!, due out on October 3.
