All aboard! RuPaul is heading back to the big screen with a train-set action-comedy directed by Adam Shankman. It comes from World of Wonder with theatrical distribution by Bleecker Street planned for 2026.
The currently untitled movie “will follow best friends Tess and DeeDee, train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express. RuPaul will trade the runway for the big screen, starring in a new and, as yet, untitled action-comedy from “Hairspray” director Adam Shankman.
Bleecker Street has teamed up with Emmy-winning media company World of Wonder to acquire North American rights to the film. The film, which is billed as the first-ever feature from the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” universe, will be released theatrically nationwide in 2026.

I’ve always loved me some romance, but in recent years, we’ve had so few good romantic movies that I’m genuinely wondering where this genre is going. I’ve never read The Map That Leads To You, so I went into the movie entirely fresh, and I had no idea what I was in for. The film follows Heather, an American college student who is organized and a massive planner, who decides to go on a trip to Europe with her two best friends before starting her big girl job. Soon after, she meets a man named Jack unexpectedly on a train, and they instantly hit it off. Jack is the opposite of Heather in every way. He’s not organized at all, and he’s basically backpacking through Europe following a journal that his great-grandfather left behind. The film then follows the romance that blossoms between this...

Mandy Moore is the latest addition to Dan Fogelman’s upcoming series set within the NFL at Hulu, Variety has confirmed.
The untitled series was originally announced in October 2024. Exact plot and character details are being kept mostly under wraps, aside from the fact the show is set inside the world of the NFL with a generational family component.
Moore will star alongside previously announced cast members Christopher Meloni and William H. Macy. Moore will play the daughter of the team owner, played by Macy. Meloni will play the head coach.
The casting marks a reunion for Moore and Fogelman, as Moore previously starred in Fogelman’s NBC drama “This Is Us” throughout its six-season run at the broadcast network. It is also the second “This Is Us” reunion Fogelman has made at Hulu of late, as fellow series alum Sterling K. Brown stars in Fogelman’s series “Paradise” at the streamer.

As Taylor Swift is about to release her upcoming album, which is based on the Eras Tour, a horror movie inspired by the record-breaking concert is making its way to Hulu next month. Trapis an M. The film managed to make it to Letterboxd's "one million watched club" despite receiving mediocre reviews from fans and critics alike.
Trap stars Josh Hartnett as Cooper, a firefighter who's secretly known as "the butcher, who learns that the concert that he and his daughter (Ariel Donoghue) are attending is actually a trap set by the FBI.

Matthew McConaughey has been absent from big-screen leading roles for six years now after last starring in The Gentlemen for Guy Ritchie, but one much older project from the star just got a disappointing streaming update. Once the king of the rom-com, McConaughey starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in The Wedding Planner, the 2001 film following a world-renowned wedding planner who breaks the cardinal rule of her trade: Don’t fall in love with a groom. The Wedding Planner is currently streaming on Netflix. Unfortunately, the streamer has confirmed that the last day to watch the film will be on July 31. It earned abysmal scores of 17% from critics and 59% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, but that didn’t stop it from grossing $94 million at the box office against a $35 million budget.

Emilia Clarke’s controversial romantic drama, titled Me Before You, is making waves again, but this time it’s due to being one of the top trending movies on Amazon Prime Video. It’s been almost a decade since its theatrical release, but amidst all the new features, it has somehow resurfaced in the streaming spotlight.
Thea Sharrock’s directorial is an adaptation of Jojo Moyes’ eponymous best-selling novel. Clarke plays Louisa “Lou” Clark in this feature, and is paired against Sam Claflin’s Will Traynor, portrayed as a wealthy quadriplegic who decides to end his life through assisted suicide. So let’s look at how, despite a romantic premise, the 2016 movie stirred a storm of backlash.

Hollywood seems to have run out of fresh ideas, and we’re living in an era when every classic show is rebooted or revived.
I loved the 1980s and 1990s television shows, but did not want to see everyone rebooted. Some were classics for a reason, and others ran long enough in their prime.
On Monday, Variety announced that a 7th Heaven reboot is in early development. Why? While I loved the first several seasons, it’s a prime example of a series that ran too long and does not need to return.
(The WB/Screenshot)
7th Heaven ran for 11 seasons on The WB and The CW and followed the Camden family.
It was a family favorite back then as it explored how Rev. Eric Camden and his wife dealt with their many children.
While it leaned Christian, it wasn’t overly preachy, and featured some of the best sibling relationships on television.

Exclusive: Mikki Daughtry & Tobias Iaconis (Five Feet Apart) have been set as the writers for A Walk to Remember, Monarch Media’s Nicholas Sparks reboot on which we were first to report in February.
A seminal coming-of-age romance, published in 1999, A Walk to Remember follows a rebellious high school senior who falls for a quiet, faith-driven girl after being forced to participate in a school play, discovering the transformative power of love, forgiveness and the beauty of living each day with purpose.
Warner Bros previously adapted the book in 2002, with leads Shane West and Mandy Moore breaking out off of their lead performances. The Adam Shankman pic remains one of the most popular in the modern rom-com canon, even if it made less than $48 million in theaters.

Hollywood’s very own, Kevin Costner, helped pave the way for one of the industry’s biggest-grossing film trends. Premiered in 2004, The Notebook instantly became the gold standard for the romance genre. Teenagers quoted it, adults bawled over it, and a whole generation came to associate love with rain-soaked kisses, handwritten letters, and grand gestures. But way before Ryan Gosling whispered, “It wasn’t over, it still isn’t over”, Costner helped lay the groundwork for this iconic love story.
By starring in the very first Nicholas Sparks’ novel adapted film, Message in a Bottle, Costner essentially flicked the first domino for the genre. So while you might think Gosling in a canoe is the epitome of romance, it was Costner reading a letter in a bottle who kicked off the trend.

Nicholas Sparks writes the kind of books you're likely to find on your mom's nightstand. His romances have captivated (mostly women) readers around the world for nearly 30 years, with over 130 million copies sold according to his website. Many of his novels follow the same formula, but clearly, he's found a winning one: stories of star-crossed lovers, often set in picturesque coastal American small towns, where a profound and enduring bond is tested by a tragic twist. Few authors can claim that all of their books have reached #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
Nicholas Sparks' stories didn't make the leap to the silver screen until 1999 with the adaptation of his second novel, "Message in a Bottle." Star Kevin Costner fits perfectly into Sparks' universe, portraying the all-American, rugged man — stoic and guarded, yet warm. Sling Freestream is a relatively new streaming service, but it isn’t trying anything too revolutionary with its ad experience.
Sling Freestream is part of a trend that’s sweeping across live TV streaming services these days. The month-to-month contracts available with these services makes them easy to cancel, so their parent companies have created free streamers to help keep former subscribers still engaging with a similarly-branded product, as well as to attract new customers.
If you’re thinking about giving Sling Freestream a try, but are unsure of the ad experience you’ll find on the service, fear not! I’ve tested Sling Freestream personally to see what the ad experience was like, and you can read all about it below.

It's the beefiest, bulkiest Christmas we could ever hope for later this year when The Man With The Bag comes out, bringing us the dynamic duo we didn't know we needed in the shape of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Reacher star Alan Ritchson. Ritchson has done us all a festive solid by sneaking a look at the movie in amongst an Instagram photo dump of the last few months that shows Schwarzenegger in costume as jolly old Saint Nick, while Ritchson's also got a little bleach blonde highlight job going on there. Did the elves do that one for ya, big guy?
The story centers on Santa’s magical bag—yes, that bag, the one that makes Christmas happen—getting swiped. To retrieve it, Santa enlists the help of Vance (Ritchson), a reformed thief who's spent years on the naughty list. Honestly, Santa should start giving the rule-breakers more credit—they get results.

Amazon is trying to clear the air after Mandy Moore said the company delivered a package to her in-laws’ home, which was lost in the L.A. wildfires.
Earlier this week, the This Is Us star posted a photo on her Instagram Story of the package Amazon delivered to the demolished home with the text: “Do better, Amazon. Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home.”
Amazon has since apologized to the actress and is trying to figure out what happened, according to a statement sent to NBC News.
“Those who deliver on our behalf have been advised to use discretion in areas impacted by wildfires — especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home — that clearly didn’t happen here,” Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly shared.
Moore also lost her own home to the fires.

As of this writing, author Nicholas Sparks has written 23 novels, and every single one of them has been a New York Times Bestseller. His first novel, "The Passing," was published in 1985, and he immediately established himself as one of the world's preeminent pop-romance writers, authoring broad, tragic stories about unquenched longing, suffering lovelorn women, and flawless rescue studs. His 1999 novel "A Walk to Remember" was inspired by the tragic death of his younger sister, killed by cancer at age 33. Sparks' novels, mostly set in North Carolina, are known for their placid, pastoral tones, sweeping melodrama, and weepy endings.
Hollywood got their hooks into Sparks in 1999 when they adapted his book "Message in a Bottle" into a notable hit starring Kevin Costner. That film made $118 million on a $30 million budget, and major film studios seem to have found a winning formula. Since then, 11 additional Sparks novels have been adapted into films,...

M. Night Shyamalan is preparing his latest film and inviting high-profile talent to help him do it. Jake Gyllenhaal is being considered to lead the latest mystery movie, but the true twist for fans will be who is actually helping to develop the film.
Per Deadline, Gyllenhaal will star in Shyamalan's next film, which is being described as a supernatural romantic thriller. The big twist here is that the film is based on an original story that Shyamalan co-created with author Nicholas Sparks. Yes, the same Nicholas Sparks behind the novels A Walk to Remember and The Notebook, both of which were turned into hit films. On paper, this sounds like a strange union, but it's a bit more intriguing once you dig deeper.
Shyamalan will work independently on his screenplay while Sparks will do the same with his novel, but it's based on the same original story and will feature the same characters.

Ah, "The Notebook," the go-to romantic drama for date nights and Valentine's Day. This 2004 tear-jerker about good-looking people dealing with love and heartbreak hits all the feels, right down to its surprising and emotional twist ending.
Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, the story follows the love affair between Noah (Gosling) and Allie (McAdams) as told by an elderly man (James Garner) to a female patient (Gena Rowlands) in the present. Noah, you see, is a poor lumber mill worker, while Allie is rich beyond belief. Naturally, her parents object, then a war whisks Noah away long enough for Allie to become engaged with another man (James Marsden). Will our star-crossed lovers overcome the many obstacles and end happily ever after, or will life pull them apart?
Look, "The Notebook," as directed by Nick Cassavetes, based on the novel by perennial tear-jerk king Nicholas Sparks, doesn't earn points for originality...

Every action hero needs a comic relief sidekick, and according to Deadline, it looks like Awkwafina is bringing her comedy chops to Amazon MGM's festive comedy The Man with the Bag alongside none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Reacher star Alan Ritchson. While details of Awkwafina’s role are still under wraps, her addition to the cast already has us excited to see what festive chaos she’ll bring to the screen. The movie is being directed by Hairspray and A Walk to Remember filmmaker Adam Shankman.

Julia Stiles dips her toes into the directing world with her adaptation of Renee Carlino's Wish You Were Here. The romantic drama, starring The Orphan's Isabelle Fuhrman and the live-action Aladdin's Mena Massoud, follows the path of The Fault in Our Stars and Me Before You. The film centers a woman who falls into a whirlwind romance with a man who is terminally ill. A month shy of Valentine's Day, the film is out in time for those seeking that tearful experience only a romance about a dying person can provide. The subgenre is a hit for a reason.
Stiles opted for this story to be her directorial debut because the novel was emotionally resonant, and on the surface, I can see why. Films grappling with mortality and the unfairness of true love being cut short always grip the heart. Timing and communication are critical to successful relationships...
