During an "organized trip" to Orly Airport, seven elderly people from the same Parisian neighborhood meet. They are poor, without family, live in maids' rooms, and experience cold and hunger. This trip encourages them to do something together. They have nothing left to lose and decide to organize themselves into a gang of thieves.
Some good scenes but a desultory script which makes the movie hard to keep up with; the pathetic tour of Paris with a surprise , peppered with bad jokes from the guides ,sets the tone : old people must be treated like kids , they are no longer part of the society if they are poor ;at the end of the trip ,the "nice" guides want to get rid of them and to get back to where they belong, the world of the youth.
After this humiliating tour ,they take a rebel stand,steal luxury stuff, have lunch in a gourmet restaurant without settling the check ; they (the rich?) hire a (young) detective but the elders will make short work of their opponent ;the last scene may be their eventual revenge : visiting an airport is not enough ;we want to use its planes too and to fly to other parts of the world ;yet,the ending is ambiguous .
