This starts out as a pretty bad, very campy, and poorly written knockoff. Fortunately, there are a handful of good episodes especially in the last story arc which is fantastic.
There are a lot of not-so-great episodes in this show, especially the ones starring mostly children since they are notoriously hard to direct in these 70s shows, but overall it's a pretty okay "Ultraman" clone with its fair share of redeeming qualities.
If you're a fan of Tokusatsu like I am, I'm sure you will or already have enjoyed this, and it is definitely far from the worst "Ultraman" knockoff that has ever been made.

Essentially a sequel to Mirrorman, Jumborg Ace is a zippy action packed series that fans of Ultraman will no doubt enjoy! Naoki Tachibana (played by Naoki Tachibana) is a young mailman whose brother is captain of the earth defense organization PAT. Sadly, Captain Tachibana is killed trying to defend a child from the saurian Kaiju King Jaigras sent to earth by the evil Anti Go-Ne. Enraged, Naoki vengefully rams his delivery plane into the beast that killed his brother, but is saved at the last second by the Emerald Aliens who give him the ability to transform his Cessna into the giant robot Jumborg Ace the fight off Anti Go-Ne and his minions from the Planet Gross.
Jumborg Ace is a Really Fun Series from Tsuburaya Productions.
The Characters aren't as likeable as Mirroman's of Fireman's, but still likeable nontheless. Especially the returning captain Murakami from Mirrorman,
The Score, Composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi, isn't as good as his score for Kamen Rider, but still great. And it's Jarring to hear some of Toru Fuyuki's music from Mirrorman appear where it doesn't belong.
The Special Effects aren't as good as Mirrorman's, but the Kaiju designs and fight scenes more than make up for that.
The writing is incredibly sharp and it leads to some very fun episodes.
All in all, At it's worst, Jumborg Ace is silly Goofy Fun. And at it's best, it's an amazing sequel to Mirrorman and and Excellent companion piece of Fireman.
9/10.
