Trailer Debut for the Spooky Chilean Film Whispers of the Forest
Chilean horror filmmaker Jorge Olguin has a new film on the way, Whispers of the Forest and a trailer made its online debut recently.

Olguin jumped on the horror scene with Angel Negro, the first Chilean horror film to be produced.

He followed that up with Sangre Eterna ("Eternal Blood"), released here in the States under Fangoria Films.

According to Twitch, his latest "revolves around a pair of Chilean women hired as guides to take a team of international engineers into the wild to conduct a survey for a proposed dam. But what they find are the ghosts of warriors slain in battle five hundred years before."

Gorgeous First Trailer For Lovecraftian Horror Caleuche: The Call Of The Sea
After winning a loyal cult following around the globe on the strength of his festival hits Eternal Blood (Sangre Eterna) and Descendents (Solos), Chile's Jorge Olguin appears poised to break through on another level entirely with upcoming effort Caleuche: The Call Of The Sea. A project which had Guillermo Del Toro attached as a producer at one point - though he dropped out of the project somewhere in the development process - Caleuche gives Olguin resources he has never had at his disposal in the past and it certainly appears as if he has made good. The story revolves around Isabel (Giselle Itié), a Boston based marine biologist who opts to return to her family home in Chiloé Island following a serious illness. What she discovers...

Scores of Infected Folks Descend on Chile in Director Jorge Olguin’s Descendents
Did you feel that director Alexander Payne’s 2011 claptrap “The Descendants” was way too over-hyped? Did you walk away from the film feeling depressed and a little manipulated? If so, you’re not the only one. Thankfully, I may have the solution. Enter “Eternal Blood” director Jorge Olguín’s horror opus “Descendents”, a movie that seems to draw heavily from Danny Boyle’s classic “28 Days Later”. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, though it has been done to death at this point. Still, considering the flick was put together on a miniscule budget, I don’t think it looks that bad. Here’s a much longer synopsis than you’ll ever need: In an undefined future, the earth has been destroyed by man, and the air polluted with a mysterious virus that turns humans into zombies. Only a few children are immune to the disease and have...

A Trip into the Surreal: Humanimal
Chilean filmmaker Francesc Morales pointed us to a trailer for his horror-fantasy Humanimals executive produced by Jorge Olguín ( Sangre Eterna ). Essentially, it's this: A couple of humans dressed as animals - a Turtle and the smart Fox - live locked up in a house. Their chaotic relationship is intensified after they fall in love with Cat (again, a chick in a feline costume), but she is only interested in who learns human habits. Strange? You bet. Horrifying if you've got a fear of furries. Jenny Cavallo, Ramón Llao and Sebastián Layseca play Cat, Turtle and Fox, respectively. Check out the trailer below. And get this, there's no dialogue . For info, visit the film's official site .
