Why The Xenomorph "Saved" Rain In Alien: Romulus
Image
Warning: Major Spoilers for Alien: Romulus below!During the finale of Alien: Romulu, a Xenomorph ends up saving the life of Cailee Spaeny's Rain, but its motives aren't exactly heroic. The Alien movie franchise wasn't in great shape following the critical and commercial letdown of Covenant in 2017. It was the job of Fede Alvarez's Romulus to wipe the slate clean and get audiences excited about the property again. On that front, Alien: Romulus' box office success and positive critical response (it currently sits at 80% on Rotten Tomatoes) suggests the latest sequel has done exactly that.

The big question is where will the franchise go next? Alien: Romulus' ending suggests that survivors Rain and Andy (David Jonsson) could return for a future misadventure, though outside of Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, the saga has struggled to keep the same protagonists beyond a single entry. Rain will no doubt want to...

“On August 1, 2024, I played the Vagos Metal Fest in Portugal, and it was the last show I will play in the band Overkill. Fallout 76’s Worst Nightmare of an Enemy ‘The Scorched’ Were Almost Replaced by Something 100x More Terrifying
Image
Fallout 76 is not the most acclaimed entry in the hit RPG series by a long margin. Apart from the game’s quality, which series enthusiasts almost always criticize, the state of the game at launch was nothing short of deplorable.

In addition to almost unanimously agreeing that the title was perhaps the series’ weakest entry, the community agrees that ‘The Scorched’ can be incredibly challenging to slay. But many fans might be unaware that a much scarier enemy almost replaced them

Fallout 76 Lead Artist Reveals That He Wanted A Much More Unsettling Enemy Type Instead of the Scorched Fallout 76‘s Scorched could have been much more scary if the original designs were retained.

Fallout 76 recently shattered Steam Records thanks to the TV Show on Prime Video and Amazon Games giving away the title for free. Despite everything wrong with the game, per the community, the game once again became a...

Nita Strauss Announces New Album, Unleashes “The Golden Trail” Featuring In Flames’ Anders Fridén: Stream
Image
Nita Strauss, who recently rejoined Alice Cooper’s band as lead guitarist, has announced a new solo album. The set, titled The Call of the Void, will drop on July 7th via Sumerian Records.

Strauss explained of the album’s new title in a press release, “Have you ever been at the top of a high building and had the fleeting thought, ‘I could jump right now?’ This feeling is sometimes called ‘The Call of the Void,’ also known as ‘high place phenomenon.’ It’s not a suicidal impulse, rather the exact opposite — a subconscious decision to live your life, to step back from the ledge, and take control. As researcher April Smith aptly put it: ‘An urge to jump affirms the urge to live.'”

She continued, “I wanted the follow up to [my debut album] Controlled Chaos to be exciting, new, and fresh, to take listeners to a new place and...

‘Juice Wrld: Into the Abyss’ Review: Gone-Too-Soon Rapper Tells His Story in Elegiac Documentary
Image
Juice Wrld’s untimely death two years ago did little to snuff out his burgeoning stardom — quite the opposite, in fact. As evidenced by the very existence of Tommy Oliver’s documentary “Juice Wrld: Into the Abyss,” the rapper’s impact on those around him — to say nothing of his legions of fans — continues to be felt today. The film’s vérité, behind-the-scenes look at his trials and tribulations may feel surface-level to those unfamiliar with Juice, but his many admirers will likely consider it essential viewing.

One of the first things we hear Juice say in the film is “I pop Percs to numb all the pain ’cause it hurts to live,” a line delivered with characteristic effortlessness in one of the many freestyle raps he performs. Like just about everything else he ever wrote and recorded, this one is “from the dome” — off the top of his head and not written in advance.

Alicia Silverstone Returns to High School in Netflix Comedy Senior Year
Image
It's hard to believe that it has been a quarter of a century since Alicia Silverstone made her name in the high school comedy Clueless. Now she is about to return to the genre that made her a star after joining the cast of Netflix movie Senior Year, which has already cast Rebel Wilson in the lead, with Sam Richardson, Mary Holland, Justin Hartley and Chris Parnell among others. Will it be a happy homecoming for the actress, or will it turn into a school reunion nightmare?

The movie is being directed by Alex Hardcastle, best known for his work on the TV shows Grace and Frankie and Parks and Recreation, from a script by Brandon Scott Jones, and tells the story of a cheerleader who awakens from a 20 year coma and attempts to claim the prom queen crown that she missed out on at her old high school. The Blue Lamp
Image
It’s the granddaddy of British cop dramas of the modern era. The most popular English picture of 1950 introduced PC George Dixon, a warm-hearted constable who would become a staple on BBC TV for 21 years. T.E.B. Clarke’s screenplay of a murder manhunt is stocked with actors American fans know well — Dirk Bogarde, Bernard Lee — and some we should know better — Jack Warner, Robert Flemyng, Dora Bryan. The show was made by the top craftsmen of Ealing Studios, and its fast pace and Brit sensibility will definitely impress. And remember — the Bobbies on the beat don’t even carry guns.

This Is A Robbery Ending Explained: Who Stole the Paintings From the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum?
Vol au musée: Le plus grand cambriolage de l'histoire de l'art (2021)
If you’re anything like me, you speed-raced through the four parts of Netflix‘s This Is A Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist docu-series, aware that the creators behind the documentary were almost certainly not going to break this 30-year-old cold case wide open, but also desperate to see what conclusions would be drawn. As much as this is a documentary about the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist, it also quickly becomes a story about organized crime in Boston and New England circa 1990, and the methods with which the FBI investigates. Because of this, the final part of This Is A Robbery focuses on the Boston Mafia and the FBI.

Who stole the paintings from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum?

While This Is A Robbery is careful not to make any declarations about who actually pulled the heist, the docu-series does seem to come to the broad conclusion that...

Cindy Cowan has optioned the book, and will produce with Steve Bersch and Scott Strauss overseeing the project. Screen Gems’ Brian Dukes will oversee for the studio.

True Haunting is the terrifying true story of the first televised exorcism on NBC in 1971. Millions around the country watched the program. The NBC news segment was a success, the exorcism was not. Instead, it made things worse for the Becker family who lived there. Much worse.

Woody Harrelson at an event for Sept Vies (2008)
Actor Woody Harrelson is taking a well earned break after starring in his latest film Scorched - by cutting himself off from civilization. Woody finished shooting in Los Angeles in June, and is now resting in Costa Rica without the modern conveniences of everyday life. Bob Mazza, publicist for Danny Sherman, one of the film's producers, reports that Harrelson is living in a lean-to, unburdened by modern conveniences. Mazza says, "He doesn't even have a cell phone out there." Scorched, which also stars John Cleese and Alicia Silverstone, tracks the lives of several bank tellers and their separate, bumbling schemes to rob their employer.
