And in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, we finally have a new look and further details into the retro crime story about an FBI agent and a getaway driver trying to take down an impressively run crime syndicate.

In the early aughts, superhero films were still finding their sea legs. In 2003, Ben Affleck donned the shades of Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who becomes Hell’s Kitchen’s defender in crime-ridden New York. Daredevil implements the classic pairings of Matt and Foggy while introducing the tortured romance between Matt and Elektra, but these surface-level additions failed to impress comic book fans.

While Affleck impresses in later roles such as Gone Girl and Argo, he wasn’t necessarily the best choice for Matt Murdock. Jennifer Garner, in turn, was adept at the action sequences thanks to her many years on the spy series Alias, but was also miscast as the Greek assassin from the comics. Fans of Will Trent were rocked hard by the Season 2 finale. When he discovered longtime love Angie (Erika Christensen) had covered up a murder, which later led to five more men being killed, Will (Ramon Rodriguez) had no choice but to arrest her in the middle of the station. 

As Season 3 opened six months later, Will had left Atlanta before being tracked down by boss Amanda. He eventually returned to the Gbi despite how partner Faith wasn't happy with him leaving. Meanwhile, Angie managed to avoid jail time and worked security in a neighborhood while hoping to get back on the Atlanta Pd.

They teamed up again because of a curious CIA investigation on Will Trent Season 3 Episode 4, but the dynamics were off because Will and Angie were barely speaking. Faith and Michael felt the shift, affecting the team camaraderie.

The foursome quickly realized that the victim had connections to the Dod, and the suspects thought they were in the CIA with orders to kill him.

Garner will star in the series based on the book by “The Perfect Couple” author, which was granted a series order at the streamer, Peacock announced Monday. In the series, Garner will star as Hollis Shaw, a famed food influencer known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste, and warm demeanor who suffers a devastating loss.

The official logline for the series is as follows: “Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’s picture-perfect life—her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter, and her growing pursuit of validation from her followers. Peacock has ordered a series adaptation of the Elin Hilderbrand novel “The Five-Star Weekend” with Jennifer Garner attached to star, Variety has learned.

The project was first reported to be in development at Peacock in April 2024 as part Sue Naegle and Ali Krug’s overall deal with UCP under their Dinner Party Productions banner.

The official description of the series states:
