J.J. Abrams' first writing project since Star Wars came together like jazz. Collaborating with accomplished screenwriter Latoya Morgan (whom you may know from The Walking Dead), the Lost creator has re-teamed with Josh Holloway — the star of that show — to bring to life Duster, a new Max drama series set to thrill its way onto our screens later this year. And in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, we finally have a new look and further details into the retro crime story about an FBI agent and a getaway driver trying to take down an impressively run crime syndicate.
Calling the story a "fun pastiche of action and humor," Duster tells the following story, according to its official logline:
In 1972, the first Black female FBI agent heads to the Southwest and recruits a gutsy getaway driver in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate.

Actress Jennifer Garner rose to prominence with her performance as Sydney Bristow in the thriller series Alias. The series was created by J.J. Abrams and marked Garner’s second collaboration with the writer-director after her appearance on the short-lived drama series Felicity.

During an interview, Garner reflected on her time on Alias, which shot her to stardom. However, the actress admitted that she nearly lost the job very early on during production. Garner recalled receiving a call from Abrams, which signaled something was off. Here is what the actress had to say about nearly getting fired from Alias.

Quick LinksComic Books Have a History of Different InterpretationsBullseye Is a Fascinating Addition to Daredevil Season 3Daredevil Had to Make Bullseye Its Own
In the early aughts, superhero films were still finding their sea legs. In 2003, Ben Affleck donned the shades of Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who becomes Hell’s Kitchen’s defender in crime-ridden New York. Daredevil implements the classic pairings of Matt and Foggy while introducing the tortured romance between Matt and Elektra, but these surface-level additions failed to impress comic book fans.
While Affleck impresses in later roles such as Gone Girl and Argo, he wasn’t necessarily the best choice for Matt Murdock. Jennifer Garner, in turn, was adept at the action sequences thanks to her many years on the spy series Alias, but was also miscast as the Greek assassin from the comics. Even so, that isn’t to say that the Daredevil film is a total loss.

Jennifer Garner may have started her acting career in the entertainment industry years before, but her true recognition and fame came from her thriller series with J.J. Abrams, Alias. To say the least, it was this very series that not only made the actress a household name in Hollywood but also pretty much every fan’s fantasy.

But the way things go, even though Garner had one of the best times of her entire life while working on this masterpiece show, she also has a rather disappointing regret about it. While she wants the series to be remembered long, long after it stopped airing on the screens, that one regret remains to dig a hole in the actress’ heart.

Matt Damon On Affleck’s Wedding (Photo Credit – Facebook/Wikimedia)
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have been close friends for years. They grew up together, won an Oscar together, and stayed by each other’s sides. So, when Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005, many expected Damon to be there. But he wasn’t. In fact, no one was.
The reason behind his absence was actually pretty simple. Moreover, it kind of made sense. Affleck and Garner pulled off one of the most private celebrity weddings ever. They went full stealth mode, keeping it so small that even Affleck’s lifelong bestie didn’t make the cut. No Hollywood guest list. No over-the-top venue. Just two people, a beach, and one trusted friend to officiate.
Back in 2005, Affleck and Garner shocked everyone by getting married in a super low-key ceremony. To those unversed, Affleck was engaged to Jennifer Lopez before marrying Garner.

Initially, Will Trent would only feature horrific crimes.
However, these days, the series has learned to balance their crime scenes with lighthearted humor in the third season.
Many of Will Trent’s crimes have focused on the past, especially Will and Angie’s childhood trauma.
(Wilford Harewood/ Disney) Will Trent’s Cases Often Have a Personal Note
Will has struggled with forgotten foster children or those with learning disabilities. His goal is to ensure that children are protected.
Meanwhile, Angie’s kryptonite is teenage girls who are survivors of sexual assault. Since the beginning, she’s strived to rescue teens from a trafficking ring and protect Crystal so they don’t end up like her. That didn’t end so well for her.
While Will Trent Season 3 has included some violent crimes, the series has also explored different parts of Will and Angie’s lives instead of only focusing on their childhood trauma.

In a turn that seems to have been lifted right out of the Jennifer Garner series Alias, the World Security Bureau (Wsb) recruited college student Josslyn Jacks as their newest agent on General Hospital. But spies aren’t born. They’re created. As such, the show will soon introduce Joss’ handler, Vaughn, played by Bryce Durfee. Durfee recently revealed that he almost ended up playing another character who is now a fan favorite.
A Spy is Born
Watching Joss become molded into a super spy like Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is going to be super fun. Several spy characters have been on the show, such as Anna, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), and Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner), over the years. But Frisco left Port Charles and went off to join the Wsb and become a secret agent, getting his training off-screen.

In the first few years of the millennium, studios were finally getting hip to the fact that superhero movies, done in a comic-accurate way, could be big at the box office. Bryan Singer’s X-Men opened the door, but it was Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man that made the genre a no-brainer. One studio that was eager to get in on the comic book movie action was 20th Century Fox, which produced X-Men. They managed to get the rights to one of Marvel’s most enduring superheroes, Daredevil, producing a film that was solid, if unspectacular, when it came out on Valentine’s Day in 2003. The movie marked Ben Affleck’s first outing as a superhero and proved divisive among fans. Some say it’s underrated, while others say it’s dated garbage. Who’s right? Let’s find out Wtf Happened to Daredevil.

Given his prior history of working in crime and noir comics, author Brian Michael Bendis, who marked his Marvel debut with Ultimate Spider-Man, spearheaded the Max imprint, which focused on more adult-themed stories. As a result, the writer partnered with artist Michael Gaydos to pen the critically revered Alias, starring Jessica Jones.

Interestingly, the comic originally featured one of Bendis’ favorite Marvel heroes, Jessica Drew, the alter-ego of Marvel’s Spider-Woman. However, despite his passion for the character, her involvement was eventually scrapped in favor of the writer’s original creation.
Lack of continuity contributed to Jessica Jones’ Marvel debut
While Michael Bendis’ work on Ultimate Spider-Man amassed critical success, it was Alias that allowed him to exercise his chops when it came to writing more gritty stories. His expertise in noir and crime chimed well with Marvel’s Max imprint, and his work on Alias...

The following contains spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World, now playing in theaters.
When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted in 2021, fans saw the Captain America mythos expand in a big way. The Flag Smashers took the super-soldier serum, confirming that Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes weren't outliers anymore. Even Wyatt Russell's John Walker was upgrading his body to become the ultimate warrior.
However, the biggest bombshell came with the revelation of Isaiah Bradley. He was a Black super-soldier who was essentially the first Black Captain America in the 1950s. It's been 20 years since Lostfirst debuted on ABC and became a hit, surprising everyone, including ABC and the series' producers. Its legacy has gotten much better with age, but as it aired, fans felt frustrated with the show and disappointed by the ending.
As someone who came to the show later in its run, I can say with confidence that Lost's first season is easily the best of the series, and I think I can prove it. While "best" can mean different things to different people, for me, Season 1 is the most well-executed and accessible season for general audiences. While ratings are relevant, the real metric is the feeling of satisfaction that makes someone a "fan.

After crafting incredible musical dramas like A Star is Born and Maestro, Bradley Cooper is set to mount his next directorial as a comedy. Once upon a time, Universal was prepping its own Avengers-style cinematic universe featuring their famous classic movie monsters. The studio started making some movies as they planned films that would make up the Dark Universe, and initially positioned Dracula Untold(2014) with star Luke Evans as the first film before officially making Tom Cruise's The Mummy the Iron Man of the Dark Universe. There was a magazine cover featuring an A-list cast who would be headlining films like Bride of Frankensteinand The Invisible Man. But then The Mummy opened in June 2017 and it bombed. Badly. And the brakes were hit on the Dark Universe. However, now it's a streaming hit on Hulu, sitting at number six on the streamer's Top 10 chart.

Is there anyone as disappointed in their adaptations as master of horror Clive Barker? Okay, part time Wizard and full-time curmudgeon Alan Moore is probably the most upset at his work being adapted but Clive is a close second. The sad part is that while he has had fewer of his novels or short stories adapted than someone like Stephen King, he has played a part in more of them and been let down more often than not. He also didn’t have a great beginning with film as his first screenplay Transmutations or Underworld he ended up hating. He first adapted his own work with Rawhead Rex in 1986 and hated the end product there too. Other than 1987’s Hellraiser which he wrote and directed, there hasn’t been something that he was disappointed in or was butchered by the studio and he has become a bit jaded. His films...

On one level, the return of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” with Sarah Michelle Gellar — the news of which Variety broke today — is the most 2020s thing that could happen. Updating a beloved TV series from the last four decades with at least some of the original cast has become a central pillar of our current popular culture. From “And Just Like That” on Max to “That ’90s Show” on Netflix to “Star Trek: Picard,” “Frasier” and whatever new version of “Dexter” is streaming on Paramount+, we’re habitually invited now to live in updated versions of our TV pasts.
A new “Buffy,” however, feels more totemic. There are all the TV history reasons, of course: Dismissed when it premiered on the nascent network The WB in 1997 as a mid-season replacement, “Buffy” rapidly roundhouse kicked itself into the vanguard of both television form and content. Ben Affleck saw the writing on the wall way before superhero fatigue became Hollywood’s worst nightmare. Back in the early 2000s, when Marvel was still throwing things at the wall to see what stuck, Affleck had a gut feeling that people might eventually get tired of capes, spandex, and the same old save-the-world formula.

[Warning: The following post contains Major spoilers for Will Trent Season 3 Episode 4, “The Floor Is Lava.”] Welp. We knew it was going to be an emotional roller coaster once Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez) and Angie (Erika Christensen) worked together on a case, but we didn’t know it’d be this gut-wrenching. On Tuesday’s new episode of Will Trent, the two joined forces on a case involving a targeted shooting of a man in his home. Things got off to an awkward start right away when they had to play a game of “The Floor Is Lava” on the victim’s couch to avoid disrupting footprint evidence, and things only got weirder from there. As it turned out, the shooter was one of several lonely people who frequented an Alias messaging board and were duped into thinking they were being recruited as CIA operatives who could kill people with impunity and steal state secrets. Here’s How Bradley Cooper’s Exit From Alias Had A Positive Impact On His Career (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Bradley Cooper’s early acting career got a pretty solid push when he landed the role of Will Tippin on Alias, J.J. Abrams’ spy drama that made viewers question who was spying on who. But here’s the twist that no one saw coming—Cooper didn’t want to stick around. After two seasons, the actor begged Abrams to write him off the show. When he was still on the rise, one of TV’s biggest stars was already planning his exit. Why? Because Will Tippin wasn’t entirely living up to the Cooper potential.
Alias debuted in 2001, and we were all in on the twisted spy stories, secret agents, and deep conspiracies. Cooper played Will, Sydney Bristow’s (Jennifer Garner) journalist buddy who had no idea his friend was moonlighting as a CIA agent.

At the time of its premiere, no one was sure if The Vampire Diaries would be a hit with audiences. Twilight had already been released, and some thought vampires were a tired story. Vampires are clearly timeless because The Vampire Diaries created a franchise on The CW that would last over a decade. Adapted from the L.J. Smith books of the same name, the romance follows a human, Elena Gilbert, struggling to adjust after the tragic death of her parents. With a little brother at home raised by their ill-prepared aunt, Jenna, Elena finds refuge in the arms of two vampire brothers.
Over the course of eight seasons, Elena makes the ultimate choice between Stefan and Damon Salvatore, no matter how divisive it may be.

Jennifer Garner's best movies and TV shows offer insight into her career in Hollywood, which continues going strong decades later. The American actor has been working since the mid-1990s, but it wasn't until the early 2000s and her breakout role as Sydney Bristow in J.J. Abrams' series Alias that she became a household name. From there, Garner launched a successful movie career that has seen her work with filmmakers like Steven Spielberg as well as alongside actors like Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Reynolds.
Garner has shown a lot of versatility in her roles, being able to portray strong and in-command characters, grounded people struggling with real-life issues, and goofy comedic characters. She has starred in everything from light-hearted comedies to intense thrillers to fun superhero adventures. While there are surely a lot more projects in the future for Garner, her career thus far is filled with notable...
