When Timothy Olyphant stars in a major TV series — Justified, The Mandalorian, Daisy Jones & The Six — that's lucky. But when Timothy Olyphant stars in a major Apple TV+ limited series based on a bestselling Marissa Stapley thriller, well then that would be Lucky. Yes, per Deadline's reporting, the man with the finest hair on the box has signed up to star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Annette Bening in showrunner Jonathan Tropper and exec producer Reese Witherspoon's hotly anticipated new show.
In the series, which is set to feature several episodes directed by Shōgun helmsman Jonathan Van Tulleken, Olyphant will play the father of Taylor-Joy's titular tearaway. For those unfamiliar with Stapley's book, Lucky follows the eponymous Lucky Armstrong, a skilled grifter raised into a life of crime who finds herself forced to embrace her roots once more in order to seize a chance at a fresh start. Great action movies come to those who wait, and our patience has finally paid off as, after four years, Tom Hardy and The Raid director Gareth Evans’ Netflix thriller Havoc is all set to land on the streamer later this year. Recent rumors claimed that the action outing would be a lengthy 2 hours and 30 minutes long. However, during yesterday’s “Next on Netflix” event, Evans revealed the real runtime. And while it's considerably shorter, this may, in fact, be a good thing.
Responding to the rumors, the filmmaker revealed that, rather than a sprawling action epic, Havoc will instead be a much tighter, fast-paced fist to the face, and clocks in at “a tight as a drum” 1 hour and 45 minutes. Which, rather than spending time on a lot of chatter, should mean that Hardy and Evans will hit the ground running when Havoc lands on Netflix in the spring. Check...

Netflix’s production slate finally gives long-delayed sequel The Old Guard 2 a release date: expect it on your tellybox on the 2nd July.
Just as we were thinking about buying a funeral wreath for The Old Guard 2, an action sequel stuck in post-production hell since 2022, Netflix comes along and announces a release date. You’ve probably read it by now, but we’ll type it again: the fantastical, vaguely Highlander-esque action sequel will stream from the 2nd July 2025.
The original Old Guard came out in the pandemic-riven months of 2020, and with 70 million views, it was deemed successful enough to warrant a sequel. The Hollywood strikes and a regime change at Netflix then delayed work on that follow-up, and earlier this month came a report that The Old Guard 2 might have to be delayed for a second round of reshoots scheduled for early this summer.

Ever since his debut in Coach Carter at 25 years old, Channing Tatum has been one of the most watchable actors working today. He is genuinely funny and, with his muscular physique, he's well-suited to both romantic comedies and high-octane action movies. He conveys a boyish earnestness that makes him great in indie fare like Havoc and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. It also doesn't hurt that Tatum has a background as a professional dancer.
Channing Tatum's best films showcase the unique likability and sincerity that make him more than just a Hollywood heartthrob. He's a compelling actor to watch on screen because he feels relatable, almost like someone that would be in a viewer's high school friend group. As audiences eagerly await Blink Twice, which stars Tatum as a sinister and charming billionaire, there are plenty of other films in the actor's canon worth watching.

Gareth Evans has now taken to Instagram to dispel those rumours of earlier reshoots. As spotted by World of Reel, in an 8th July post, Evans wrote that production on additional photography had only just begun – two and a half years after it originally wrapped.

Gareth Evans initially completed production of Havoc in 2021 – but now it’s heading off for reshoots, and a delay to 2025.
Despite wrapping production all the way back in 2021, we didn’t hear anything about Gareth Evans Havoc for a very, very long time. So long in fact, that we were beginning to wonder if the film had been quietly shelved.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Netflix had abandoned a film in post-production, look back at the recently-announced scrapping of the Halle Berry film The Mothership as Exhibit A, if you need evidence that the Silicon Valley company can be pretty ruthless if it feels a project isn’t cutting the mustard.
However, things took a turn for the positive last month when it emerged that Havoc was still alive and well, with its debut being set on Netflix set for later this year.

The renaissance of “Doctor Who,” which started its latest season this week, is a 20-year journey that is entwined with the establishment of a thriving TV production scene in South Wales, where it shoots, and the meteoritic rise of the production company Bad Wolf.
This dates back to 2003 when writer Russell T Davies was asked by the BBC’s then head of drama, Jane Tranter, to revive the show and to base the production in South Wales, an area hitherto known for coal mining and heavy industry. It was produced in 2004, overseen by BBC Wales head of drama, Julie Gardner.
When Tranter and Gardner relocated to Los Angeles to lead BBC Worldwide Productions and Adjacent Productions, they produced “Da Vinci’s Demons” for Starz, and again located the production in South Wales.

No man is an island. As much as we hate to admit it, sometimes, no one gets anywhere in life without someone believing in them. The same is true for Hollywood. It takes the stars aligning (pun intended) for any success story for anyone to really make it, and especially to escape the shadow of how they may be initially perceived.
There may be no better example of that than Mr. Channing Tatum. He told GQ in 2009, “I got crazy lucky. Like, sometimes I think I won the lottery or something. I don’t really know how I got here. But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better.” Had the stars aligned differently, he could have been just an exotic dancer and never entered the public consciousness. Or just a model. Or just played a jock. Or just played generic romantic leads. Or just played generic action roles.

But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better.” Had the stars aligned differently, he could have been just an exotic dancer and never entered the public consciousness. Or just a model. Or just played a jock. Or just played generic romantic leads. Or just played generic action roles.

Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy presented the Batman lore in a grounded and exciting fashion with Christian Bale playing the titular role. The trilogy also presented a rich array of supervillains paired against Batman with Heath Ledger’s Joker and Tom Hardy’s Bane being a talking point for fans.
Heath Ledger as Joker in The Dark Knight
Each actor brought so much complexity to their roles and while both are drastically different characters, fans often compare them and decide who was more compelling. However, Nolan believes that the two characters do not exist in the same periphery and are not suited for a justified comparison.

The Raid director Gareth Evans’ latest film, Havoc, finished shooting in 2021 – three years on, it’ll stream on Netflix in late 2024, a report says.
An ominous silence has hung over Havoc, the latest film from The Raid director Gareth Evans, which led to some speculation that Netflix might have quietly scrapped it. Filming on the thriller wrapped in 2021, and little has been heard from the production since – Havoc was also conspicuously missing from Netflix’s roster of films scheduled for release in 2024, which emerged in February.
Netflix has form when it comes to abandoning films in post-production – see the sorry tale of The Mothership, the Halle Berry sci-fi adventure we’ll never see – hence why there have been some concerns over Havoc's ongoing safety.
A new report, however, suggests that Havoc is still alive and well, with its debut on Netflix set for later this year. According to World of Reel's source,...

Tom Hardy's new movie The Bikeriders breaks his Rotten Tomatoes dry spell, boasting a solid 83% rating with high praise from critics. Hardy has only starred in two "Rotten" movies from 2008 to 2017, setting an impressive hot streak. Despite box office successes with Venom, Hardy could attain critical acclaim with upcoming projects like Havoc and Mad Max: The Wasteland.
Tom Hardy's new movie The Bikeriders is finally fixing a rotten streak for the celebrated actor. The 46-year-old actor has appeared in some of the most popular and acclaimed films of the last 15 years and continues to be one of the biggest names in Hollywood. However, after the massive success of his hit blockbusters such as Inception (2010), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), and Dunkirk (2017), his most recent movies have not fared as well among critics. Hardy has solidified himself as the face of the modern Venom franchise, which includes two of his highest-grossing movies.

Anne Hathaway was told had "zero sex appeal" as a young actress. Despite early doubts about her sex appeal, Hathaway has proven critics wrong, taking on more adult and confident roles in her career. Hathaway embraced challenging roles like the crime drama "Havoc" to convey deeper messages about her characters despite discomfort.
It's hard to believe that anyone would question the sex appeal of Anne Hathaway today, but when the actress was breaking out following her role in Disney's The Princess Diaries, the actress revealed that Hollywood viewed her as someone who had zero sex appeal. During an interview with Vanity Fair, Hathaway reveals that the power players in Hollywood declared that she had "zero sex appeal" as a young actress, something that she simply didn't buy into, stating:

Tom Hardy's performance in "This Means War" damaged his credibility in the spy genre, proving he wasn't the right fit for James Bond. The box office flop hurt Hardy's chances as 007, showing he lacks the campy charisma needed for a super-spy role. Despite his success in action films like "Venom," Hardy's performance in "This Means War" highlighted his shortcomings for the role of James Bond.
While Tom Hardy might seem like a perfect candidate for the James Bond franchise, one forgotten flop from the actor’s back catalog proves that isn’t necessarily true. On paper, Tom Hardy is a perfect fit for the role of James Bond. The charismatic British actor has excelled in a range of dramatic roles while also repeatedly proving his mettle as an action superstar, and the box office performance of his blockbuster franchises speaks for itself. “Tatami,” the Iranian drama from co-directors Guy Nattiv and Zar Amir, has been picked up by XYZ Films for North America, where both lip-synched English and original language versions will be released later this year.
The feature, which bowed in Venice 2023 where it won the Brian Award, made history by becoming the first film to be jointly directed by an Iranian and an Israeli filmmaker.
Starring Arienne Mandi, Amir, Jaime Ray Newman and Ash Goldeh, and written by Nattiv — an Oscar winner for his short film “Skin” — and Elham Erfani, “Tatami” is set during the Judo World Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia. Midway through the competition, Iranian female judo fighter Leila (Mandi) and her coach Maryam (Amir ) receive an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic ordering Leila to fake an injury and lose, lest she be branded a traitor of the state. If you were to design a global sales agent in a lab, they would come out looking a lot like Tamara Birkemoe.
Born in Italy to Chilean parents and raised between Sweden and Rome before moving to the U.S. for film school, the multilingual exec has been a force on the indie film scene since her first job, straight out of UCLA, for Mark Damon’s Mdp Worldwide. For the next 16 years, Birkemoe put in time at Mdp (later Media 8 Entertainment) and then at Foresight Unlimited, the production and sales group Damon set up in 2005. The slate she oversaw ranged from studio-released big-budget action fare, such as Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor and Baltasar Kormákur’s 2 Guns, both Universal Pictures films, which grossed $155 million and $132 million worldwide, respectively; to Kevin Costner starrer The Upside of Anger, a New Line release that earned $28 million worldwide; and Patty Jenkins’ low-budget true-crime drama Monster,...

Warning! Contains spoilers for the Justified: City Primeval season 1 finale! The Justified: City Primeval cast helps bring the FX spinoff series to life, with US Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) returning alongside a few familiar faces as well as a lot of exciting new characters. The new adventure set in the Justified universe finds the cowboy-hat-wearing lawman taking on a case in Detroit where he comes up against a reckless and deadly outlaw. While the show was more of a new Raylan adventure rather than a continuation of the Justified series, the Justified: City Primeval cast is a solid ensemble to carry on the franchise.
Justified premiered in 2010 and was based on the short story "Fire in the Hole" by Elmore Leonard. It follows Givens, a Miami Marshal who is reassigned to his home state of Kentucky where he comes up against the local criminal element which includes some people from his past.

Players can choose to either join the insurgencies and cause chaos, or defend the empires under attack, offering different rewards based on their choices. The Havoc expansion includes new ships, customization options, and quality of life improvements, along with a major overhaul of Corporation Projects and the release of the long-awaited Angel Titan.
The incredibly popular space Mmo Eve Online will be receiving a new expansion later this year, entitled Havoc, a followup to the Uprising and Viridian expansions. This Star Trek: Strange New WorldS review contains spoilers/
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Episode 5
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ first season has ticked a lot of boxes thus far, from stories of alien encounters that run the gamut from hopeful first contacts to high-octane face-offs and deft character work that adds intriguing new layers to the series’ central players, even those we thought we already knew. Now, with “Spock Amok,” Strange New Worlds tries its hand at comedy, and while the hour isn’t a terribly substantial one in terms of larger forward narrative progress, it’s an utterly delightful time.
The set-up is broad enough to give most of the main cast something to do and, perhaps more importantly, it’s honestly just fun to watch. And while I love this franchise, let’s be honest, outside of, say, Star Trek: Lower Decks, there hasn’t been much...

Starz’s John Wick prequel series The Continental has found its Winston Scott: Colin Woodell (The Flight Attendant, The Originals) will star as the younger version of Ian McShane’s movie character, our sister site Deadline reports.
Produced by Lionsgate Television, the three-night event takes John Wick fans back to 1975 New York City, where a young criminal named Winston Scott (Woodell) navigates the city’s nefarious underbelly in an attempt to take control of The Continental, a notorious hangout for all manner of ne’er-do-wells.

WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin is guest-starring on Nickelodeon’s “Side Hustle,” and just like his main job and those acting roles in the (post-John Cena) “Marine” movies, it’s a fairly physical gig.
On “Side Hustle,” Mizanin plays Jujutsu star Clint Kickwood, who grunts out “Kick-wood!” as he kicks down Jaget’s (Jacques Chevelle) dojo door.
Kickwood was “hired by a very sorry young man,” he tells Jaget. That sorry young man was Munchy, Jaget’s little bro. Probably extra-sorry now because of the door.
As Clint Kickwood explains, “Clint Kickwood doesn’t just kick stuff, I fix stuff!”
He definitely does seem to kick an awful lot of stuff — especially when he played twins in the movie “Double Kick.” But his mission here is more one of mending a brotherly relationship.
Watch the video above, which is exclusive to TheWrap.

Welcome to this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have what could be, if Vince sticks to the plan, one of the, if not the biggest Raws of the year. I believe we have Damien Priest defending the US Title against Jeff Hardy and a WWE World Title Match between Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton. That being said, Big E has said he plans on cashing in Money In The Bank on the WWE World Champion to finally become the champion himself. I’m excited to see if this all goes well. Theodore Buggerphuck: I’m not! Me: Oh good God! What do you want? TB: I hate things! Damn them! Damn things! Me: Be careful Buggerphuck. You don’t know what you’re in for. TB: Blow me, chicken-noodle! Kevin Von Erich: He’s right. TB: Kevin Von Erich?...

The arguably better counterpart to Riverdale, Netflix's The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina met an untimely end that shocked its many fans. The witchy show was not only entertaining but also important because it handled representation and feminism well. Caos creators had clearly written story arcs in all its four seasons that were meant to be unraveled over a few more parts, so its cancellation definitely left some plot holes gaping open.
