BMW of North America announced this past September the return of BMW Films with The Escape, a short film from Academy Award nominated director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) featuring original BMW Films star and Oscar nominated actor Clive Owen (Closer, Children of Men), who reprises his role as The Driver. Today, we have the trailer for The Driver, which shows Clive Owen going to work.

Presented as an homage to the 15th anniversary of the original BMW Film series, The Escape also stars Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, I am Sam), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher, Daredevil) and Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air).

Adriana Lima has her sights set on Hollywood.

The Brazilian supermodel, known for her work as a Victoria's Secret Angel and as the face of Maybelline cosmetics, seriously wants to branch into acting and ideally would like to work with noted film director Quentin Tarantino.

Appearing at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York on Tuesday night (June 7), Adriana told reporters that she is quietly waiting for her big break into show business.

"I’m just waiting for someone to see me. I’m like, 'Hello, I’m here,'" she told New York Post gossip column Page Six, adding that she only wants to work with the best. "My dream role is with Quentin Tarantino, fingers crossed." But when pressed further on whether she has had talks with the Pulp Fiction moviemaker, the brunette beauty admitted: "I haven’t had a chance to tell him that directly."

Today’s film is the 2001 short The Follow. The film, which was part of BMW’s The Hire series, is written by Andrew Kevin Walker, and directed by Wong Kar Wai. It stars Adriana Lima, Forest Whitaker, Mickey Rourke, and Clive Owen. Over the course of a career spanning nearly 30 years, Owen has been seen in movies such as Gosford Park, Closer, Children of Men, and Shoot ‘Em Up. His newest feature, titled Words and Pictures, opens in limited release in American theatres this weekend.

The easiest way to appreciate the greatness of NBC's "Hannibal," which begins its second season tomorrow night at 10, is to look at almost any of the other serial killer dramas that are littering primetime, from CBS' unkillable "Criminal Minds" to Fox's moronic "The Following" to A&E's upcoming Chloe Sevigny-waster "Those Who Kill." There are too many of these shows, and almost all of them get off on the same fetishized scenes of bound-and-gagged victims whimpering while their leering abductor prepares to do something horrible to them, and almost all of them feature heroes who often seem too stupid to function, the better to allow their cackling opponents free rein. HBO's brilliant "True Detective" has managed to sidestep most of these sick, tired landmines by focusing almost entirely on its two heroes and what motivates them, avoiding graphic imagery whenever possible, and leaving its killer as an unseen bogeyman...

Last week, the Internet was abuzz with a new stop-motion ad for Planters that featured Robert Downey Jr. as the new voice of Mr. Peanut, but it was actually a commercial featuring a pre-"Iron Man" Downey Jr. that caught my eye when I came across One Cool Thing A Day's selection of "The Route," a 12-minute ad produced by Volvo for its line of V50 station wagons. Produced by the Swedish carmaker in 2004, "The Route" does indeed show off all the amenities of the V50, but also functions as a surreal, elliptical piece of noir, courtesy of "The Grifters" director Stephen Frears, wherein Downey Jr. confronts himself as a not-so-compatible travel companion for himself in his search for a town called Confidence.
