10 Best Animated Pokémon Master Quest Episodes, Ranked
Image
The Pokémon franchise has some truly underrated and brilliantly animated episodes that are truly masterclasses of anime. Some of the most popular episodes come from one of the earlier seasons, Pokémon: Master Quest. These illustrious examples either feature breathtaking duels or emotional triumphs. Amazing episodes, like Ash's victory against Gary, expertly define the anime and the franchise's standards.

While Pokémon: Master Quest suffers partially because of its age, it equally benefits from nostalgia. It is the last season to feature the iconic trio of Ash, Brock, and Misty. For these reasons, it is usually beloved by fans. Although released early in the anime, Pokémon: Master Quest has some of the franchise's greatest and best animated moments.

Ash Begins His Epic Journey to Hoenn, Alone Pokémon: Master Quest, Episode 64 "Hoenn Alone"

This episode begins with Ash beginning his journey to the elusive Hoenn region. While the instance features many humorous shenanigans,...

Image
Shawn Levy's experience in comedies, dramas, and fantasy projects makes him a strong asset to direct future MCU projects after Deadpool & Wolverine. How A Phone Charger Led To The Creation Of Shawn Levy's Real Steel
Image
Shawn Levy's 2011 sci-fi film "Real Steel" takes place in the near future of 2020 when boxing and Mma have been banned, having been replaced by high-octane robot fights. Robot "trainers" buy up powerful, tank-like fighting bots, program their unique fighting moves prior to a match, and then pit them against each other in outsize, heavily sponsored arenas. The robot to remain un-smashed is declared the victor. Hugh Jackman plays a former boxer turned robot trainer who aims to purchase a high-profile robot called Noisy Boy and relive his glory days, but his attempts fail. Instead, he begins seeing potential in a battered, unassuming, out-of-date sparring robot named Atom salvaged from a dump. The robots in "Real Steel" aren't alive, but Levy does throw in a handful of shots implying that Atom may be ... feeling something.

"Real Steel" wasn't talked about a lot upon its release, and only opened to $27 million domestically.

Film Review: Address Unknown (2001) by Kim Ki-duk
Image
“Address Unknown” is a (slightly) autobiographical film, since Kim Ki-duk has stated that Ji-heum was conceived based on his own experiences, and the rest of the characters are based on people he actually knew.

A newly restored version of “Address Unknown” is screening at Metrograph and is available from Echelon Studios

The story takes place in 1970, in a rural town near an American military base. The central characters live in this town: Chang-gook is a half-breed who works for Dog-eye killing dogs, whose meat is later sold in local restaurants. According to his mother, his father is African-American; he, however, has never met him. Furthermore, she keeps saying to her son that, eventually, they will travel to America and live with his father, and in that fashion, she tries to teach him English. At the same time, she keeps sending letters to the address the soldier gave her, despite the fact they are always returned,...

Echelon Studios Acquires Kim Ki-Duk’s Controversial ‘Address Unknown’ and ‘Bad Guy’
Image
Echelon Studios has acquired award-winning feature films Address Unknown and Bad Guy from critically-acclaimed South Korean writer-director Kim Ki-Duk.

Two of the filmmaker's earlier works, both feature characteristically boundary-challenging shock elements. Address Unknown offers an uncompromising view of humanity and the dehumanizing effects of war, while Bad Guy tows the line between what is right and wrong with an unconventional and uncharacteristic tale of obsession.

Speaking on the acquisition, Sandro Gohoho, President of Licensing and Logistics for Echelon Studios, said: “Kim Ki-Duk is an unparalleled cinematic provocateur and among the most celebrated auteurs. We are very excited to have acquired two of his finest art-house works, continuing our commitment to bring inspiring and innovative cinema to those seeking it.”

Echelon will partner with Kinoscope – a New York based streaming and publication company – for a theatrical screening of Address Unknown on August 23rd at NYC's Maxwell House, followed by a multi-platform...

The Real Meaning Of Better Call Saul's Opening Song Was Only Revealed 7 Years Later
Image
The song "Address Unknown" in the opening of Better Call Saul represents Saul Goodman's longing for his former life and vibrant personality. However, the lyrics of the song don't entirely fit with Saul's transition into Gene, as Gene can easily summon Saul's persona when needed. The real meaning behind "Address Unknown" is revealed in Better Call Saul season 6, where it becomes clear that the song is about Saul's estranged lover, Kim, and their relationship.

Better Call Saul opens with "Address Unknown" by The Ink Spots, but the true meaning behind this song's inclusion in episode 1 isn't revealed until long after the series premiere. The Breaking Bad prequel shows Jimmy McGill's transformation into Saul Goodman, with Bob Odenkirk delivering another stunning performance as the slippery lawyer. After the events of Breaking Bad, Saul takes on a new identity — that of Cinnabon employee Gene Takovic — and attempts to avoid any association with Heisenberg.
