No one looks at Victor Creed, a.k.a. Sabretooth, and thinks of him as someone who falls in love. He’s had brief relationships before (with Mystique being among them). Nevertheless, Creed isn’t a romantic. He’s too busy murdering people and making money to start the process and stay in a relationship. But if any writer could do it and make it believable, it’s Frank Tieri.
Frank Tieri is a veteran comic book writer who’s written multiple Weapon X alumni like Wolverine and Deadpool. He’s even written an actual Weapon X series - all of which Sabretooth appeared in. That’s why it wasn’t shocking when Marvel announced Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk with him as the writer. Tieri understands the character better than most. If you ever need a quick way to feel the icy grip of time on your soul, just remember that Logan is turning eight this year. That’s long enough for a kid to go from learning to spell Wolverine to having a strong opinion about which cinematic iteration of him was the best. Logan wins. Don’t argue.
It’s been nearly a decade since Hugh Jackman clawed his way through his swan song as the world’s most reluctant mutant babysitter, and yet, the film remains as hauntingly brilliant as ever. The dirt-stained realism, the gut-wrenching father-daughter dynamic, and Charles Xavier cursing like a grandpa who’s just realized someone stole his remote, it all still stings.

Recent issues of Ultimate Spider-Man have seen teenager Richard Parker suit up as "Spider-Man" by wearing his father's "Picotech" costume. Many fans are convinced that it's a new take on the Symbiote, but the "A.I." has Peter's personality and has been able to guide Richard so far.
This May, we'll finally see Peter and Richard in action together as they battle the Sinister Six. Heading down this route has given writer Jonathan Hickman the best of both worlds; he can tell the story of an older Peter coming to grips with being a superhero at the same time a teenage Spidey suits up.
The big difference, of course, is that Richard is powerless as all of his amazing abilities come courtesy of the suit. That could add some interesting wrinkles to his story moving forward and, again, still sounds an awful lot like a Symbiote.

This article contains Major Spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World.
Captain America 4 teases what's next as the MCU transitions into its mutant phase of films. Marvel fans will be pleased with Brave New World's unmistakable X-Men tease.
Adamantium plays a big part in Captain America 4's plot, which demonstrates the substance's properties throughout the film. It also resolved Eternals' mystery of the dead Celestial, which is now being mined for the highly-coveted metal. Countries and nefarious groups like The Serpent Society race to acquire and exploit adamantium's properties, touted as a superior to Wakanda's vibranium. It's easy to hear the X-Men: The Animated Series theme playing during the film's reveal, and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel producer Nate Moore said that's exactly what they're trying to achieve.

James Gunn's upcoming Superman reboot marks Nicholas Hoult's DC Universe debut as the Man of Steel's biggest antagonist, Lex Luthor. However, Hoult admits he has one eye on the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he dreams of reprising his role from the X-Men franchise.
Speaking with Cbr at Megacon Orlando, Hoult was asked which character he'd like to play in the future. While Hoult hopes to play Luthor again in the Dcu, wanting to "play that character for a while," he is eager to make his MCU debut as Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast as that cinematic universe enters its mutant era. "I’m also excited to see what Marvel does with the X-Men. I’d be honored to play Beast again," he said.

Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1 Writer: Frank Tieri | Artist: Michael Sta. Maria | Colourist: Dono Sanchez-Almara | Letters: Joe Sabino
With a backlog of comics for November and December this was actually the one I was most looking forward to digging into. I’m sure I have made it common knowledge that Frank Tieri wrote one of my favourite eras of Wolverine, if not the best of all. This run led to a Weapon X ongoing series and Sabretooth featured in both so he has previous on the character. All of which led me to believe this would be a good story. Upon reading this I found it came as a nice little bonus to pick up from the events of the 2020 one-shot Ruins of Ravencroft: Sabretooth also by Tieri. The story kicks off with Wolverine in a bar, like I said Tieri has a good understanding of both characters and...

Warning! Spoilers for last year's Wolverine #50, and speculation about this year's Wolverine #7 ahead!
The advanced synopsis for an upcoming issue of Marvel's current ongoing Wolverine series teases "a surprising return you'll have to read to believe" – and, for better or worse, I have a feeling it's going to be the hero's arch-nemesis Sabretooth, less than a full year after he was killed off in a climactic confrontation with Logan at the end of the Sabretooth War arc, which concluded the previous Wolverine series.
Wolverine #7 – written by Saladin Ahmed, with art by Martín Cóccolo – also promises a "shock twist," as Marvel continues its attempt to push its most iconic mutant character in a bold new direction.
That said, Sabretooth War was a genuinely epic culmination of over four years of ambitious storytelling. It set an imposingly high bar, and constituted an incredibly hard act to follow for the relaunched title – something...

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1
Warning: Contains intense, graphic imagery.
Wolverine is certainly one of Marvel’s most feral mutants. Without the adamantium, his healing factor would kick into overdrive and trigger his bestial true form. However, there is another mutant, often considered Wolverine’s greatest villain, whose ferocity terrifyingly overwhelms Logan’s. Unlike Wolverine, this character isn’t afraid of letting his inner animal loose. The difference between the two is so significant that even Marvel can’t avoid the truth.
Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk #1 – written by Frank Tieri, with Michael Sta. Maria – features Wolverine learning some hidden history about his nemesis, Sabretooth.
Following the eight-part miniseries Sabretooth War, Victor Creed is dead, meaning Wolverine is left without his antithesis. Now, Logan is uncovering a piece of Creed’s past, with a story set in New York’s 1900s criminal underground.

Quick Links Why Liev Schreiber Played a Better Sabretooth Than Tyler Mane Schreiber's Sabretooth Almost Returned For Logan Could Liev Schreiber Still Return For Another X-Men Related Project?
Deadpool and Wolverine recently brought back a plethora of Marvel characters that were previously licensed by 20th Century Fox. While those like Blade and X-23 played major supporting roles, others were only brought back for glorified cameos like Chris Evans’ Human Torch. Even Sabretooth was brought back, only it wasn’t quite the Sabretooth many were hoping to see. Tyler Mane, who played the character in the first X-Men film before Liev Schreiber took on the role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was the one to have his glorious reprisal. It was Schreiber, however, who played the version that many seem to remember more fondly; as even though his film received heavy-hitting bouts of negative criticism, his performance was considered to be one of its few redeeming qualities.

The brutal anti-hero known as The Punisher is a one-man army always armed to the teeth with offensive weaponry that can easily disable, maim, and straight-up eradicate those who step in his way. After trading the soil of Earth for the vacuum of space, a variant of the Punisher acquires one of the deadliest arsenals the character has ever utilized, complete with gadgets ripped right out of a sci-fi movie.
Well-known for his borderline sadistic tactics when it comes to taking down a perceived threat, Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, most often unleashes hell in the form of various firearms ranging from assault rifle-style weapons, simple pistols, high-powered explosives and more recently, actual superpowers acquired via demonic means.

Warning: Spoilers for Sentinels #1!Not only has one of X-Men's most famous group of villains, the Sentinels, gotten a complete redesign, but it seems like they are going to get the stamp of approval from Wolverine himself. The Sentinels have transformed from mindless mutant hunters into a fully functioning human team, involving ex-military specialists that have undergone operations to make them superhuman. Yet as technologically advanced as they are, they still have their wild side.
In the upcoming miniseries Sentinels by Alex Paknadel and Justin Mason, these famous enemies of Wolverine and the X-Men not only get a redesign as an efficient team of nanotech soldiers, but they fight with the prowess of their old opponent. Their first fight is revealed in a new preview shared by Cbr.
In a way that would only make Wolverine proud, the Sentinels fight in a way that can't be considered to be above board at all.

Marvel will continue its ongoing celebration of Wolverine's fiftieth anniversary by delivering another historic chapter the life of his rival Sabretooth, in what series creator Frank Tieri describes as "Gangs of New York, but with Sabretooth." Set in the early 1900s, Sabretooth: The Dead Don't Talk will be the latest in the villain's infamous of bloodlettings over the centuries.
In the latest addition of Aipt's X-Men Monday interview series, Tieri offered the first details on Sabretooth: The Dead Don't Talk, coming at the end of the year. I've Changed My Mind After Deadpool & Wolverine, I'm Glad Liev Schreiber Didn't Return As Sabretooth
Despite featuring so many familiar Marvel movie faces, Liev Schreiber did not reprise his Sabretooth role in Deadpool & Wolverine - and, to be honest, I'm glad. Deadpool & Wolverine has become the McU's latest billion-dollar movie and the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. The number of cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine is partly to thank for this success, as it expertly capitalized on the nostalgia of its older audience, bringing back a litany of Marvel movie heroes and villains that made their debuts in the 2000s.
These mostly included characters from the first X-Men trilogy, though only a handful were portrayed by their original actors. Wolverine is one of the most iconic heroes around and I mean both visually and characteristically. He has endured for 50 years in the comics and is now a big-screen powerhouse. He has an instantly recognisable aesthetic whether he is in costume or his street clothes. He even has the ability to change his fatigues on a regular basis and still hold that visual appeal. Sometime last year I did a round-up of his most famous costumes and highlighted some of the best artists to work on each. This is an extension of that, but looking more in-depth at what artists have contributed what visuals to Wolverine body part by body part (which sounds way dirtier than I meant it). By the end of it, I will present to you my top 5 Wolverine artists of all time. I want to preface all of what is about to follow by saying that...

Fans would remember Liev Schreiber’s Sabretooth from Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and with the return of Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine, the discussion on the iconic character might have come to the surface again. X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor Liev Schreiber has explained why Deadpool & Wolverine did not feature the return of his Sabretooth in the MCU. Schreiber is the second actor to portray longstanding Wolverine rival Sabretooth in a live-action movie, after Tyler Mane. Despite boasting a lot more screen time in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, however, Schreiber was not counted among the many Deadpool & Wolverine cameos.
When asked in an interview with Collider about his absence, Schreiber stated that while he was touched by fans calling for his return, he was happy to pass on the role after seeing the physical demands met by his erstwhile co-star, Hugh Jackman. His full quote is as follows:

"Deadpool & Wolverine" isn't just one of the biggest hits of 2024, it's also one of Marvel's biggest hits in a long time. Not since "Spider-Man: No Way Home" has the Marvel Cinematic Universe seen a movie with such cultural penetration, not to mention that this is all stemming from an R-rated affair. A lot of that is credited to bringing back characters from the Fox universe, led by Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. One character we didn't get to see, however, was Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth, with the actor having played the mutant in the much-maligned "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." So, why didn't Schreiber return? It at least had something to do with not wanting to put his body through what it would've required.

One death in Deadpool & Wolverine killed off the perfect way for future MCU releases like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars to explain why Thor was crying. By the ending of Deadpool & Wolverine, the overall MCU multiverse had grown considerably. However, the movie also contained its fair share of character deaths, with the Deadpool & Wolverine cameo roster often serving to reintroduce major figures, only to kill them off shortly after bringing them to the table.
While this provided bonus finales for the likes of Chris Evans' Johnny Storm and Tyler Mane's Sabretooth, the death of one Marvel movie character may have sabotaged a perfect setup for the McU's upcoming releases. With Deadpool & Wolverine introducing a mysterious scene of Thor crying over what appears to be Deadpool in the movie, audiences have speculated at length about what the scene could mean, and how it would best be paid off.

Wolverine and Sabretooth were established as brothers in Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I think Wolverine and Sabretooth as brothers makes a lot of sense, and I'd love to see this repeated in the MCU. Wolverine and Sabretooth could bring another sibling rivalry into the MCU, but one that never resolves itself, like those between Thor and Loki, Gamora and Nebula, and Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova did.
20th Century Fox changed a major piece of canon for its version of Wolverine, and I hope Marvel Studios keeps this huge change when introducing the clawed mutant officially into the MCU. Deadpool & Wolverine missed a huge cameo opportunity for Storm in their movie. Storm's omega-level powers could shine in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Halle Berry's Storm deserves a final Marvel appearance before the McU's X-Men debut.
Deadpool & Wolverine missed a huge cameo opportunity, and I'm hoping it's something that the McU's Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars can rectify. Despite Deadpool & Wolverine being stuffed full of nostalgic cameos, there was still a smattering of expectations that were left unfulfilled. While plenty of characters from Fox's X-Men franchise joined Hugh Jackman's Wolverine on screen, the host mostly comprised villains, including Tyler Mane's Sabretooth and Ray Park's Toad.

The Fox X-Men universe is somewhat of a mess, making it hard to experience the true X-Men chronological order. The shared universe is filled with time travel, a bizarre decision to skip decades with every movie, and flashback and flash-forward movies that occasionally occur in alternate universes. It can be difficult to process the twists and turns of the universe, and it is especially challenging to consider the order of the movies.
While watching the Fox X-Men movies in order of their release would be a simpler way to watch them, there is a way to watch them chronologically. The timeline is somewhat strange, given the retcons and time travel, but it can still be done. Of course, things are made a bit more complicated due to the Deadpool movies, namely the most recent entry.

This story contains spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine.
The Marvel Studios film Deadpool & Wolverine includes several major character appearances from past Marvel films, but there was only room to include so many. Some fan favorites were absent in the film, such as Halle Berry's Storm from the X-Men movies.
While speaking with ComicBook.com to promote the Netflix title The Union, Berry was directly asked about a possible return as Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine. She revealed that she had actually been approached about her interest in joining the project by Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' real-life wife who voiced Lady Deadpool in the film. Though Berry confirmed she'd be up for it if presented with an actual offer, that phone call from Reynolds never came, leaving Storm out in the cold.

Sabretooth and Wolverine have had a very tumultuous history in the comics, where both characters are at each other’s throats on any given occasion. However, the Fox films had made their relationship a little more mellow, such that they still thought of each other as brothers, even teaming up to fight a common enemy on several occasions.
Sabretooth is the arch-nemesis of Wolverine || Marvel
One scene from Logan, James Mangold’s critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic film, had the character reminiscing about his time with his brother. However, the scene was deleted from the final cut of the film, which ended up keeping the focus of the film on Laura and Logan.
Logan revealed that his history from X-Men Origins: Wolverine was canon Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine || 20th Century Fox
Given that the X-Men timeline is very convoluted, Liev Schreiber and Tyler Mane play the characters in the same continuity.

Like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness before it, there was a seemingly endless list of Deadpool & Wolverine cameo rumours before the movie finally arrived in theaters.
Some came from social media "scoopers," while others were teased by the actors themselves. Talking to Happy Sad Confused host Josh Horowitz, director Shawn Levy set the record straight on some of the internet's wildest claims.
Asked about a possible appearance from Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X, the filmmaker responded, "Never even discussed. Studied by Emma Corrin, big time, because the Cassandra siblinghood to Professor X is really interesting to us, but never discussed, never considered."
As for the X-Men (who we'd hoped to see suit up in their own comic-accurate costumes), Levy added, "I read a lot about Storm. I read a lot about Anna Paquin coming back. I mean, I read everything. The internet has been a delightful smokescreen for the truth.

Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine and he's better than ever! The iconic actor returned to the role to introduce the legendary character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool and Wolverine and, man oh man, are fans happy that he did.
The actor first brought Logan to the big screen in 2000's X-Men, which was such a resounding success that it kickstarted a long-running phenomenon of a franchise. Jackman's performance was praised, with many hailing it as the greatest aspect of the Fox film series, and honestly you'd have a hard time arguing against that. He was so popular, in fact, that he even starred in his own spin-off trilogy of Wolverine movies.
His tenure as the character came to an end in 2017's Logan, which provided a thrilling, heartfelt, and emotional conclusion to both Wolverine's arc and the present-day X-Men movies. Or, at least we thought that...

Well, it's finally here. Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine reunited for the first time in ages in this summer's Marvel blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, giving the MCU a major shake-up. Despite the title, the duo shared the screen with a number of other famous Marvel characters in surprising cameos, including Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Gambit (Channing Tatum), and Johnny Storm (Chris Evans). One of the most important of these includes Tyler Mane's Sabretooth. It's been over 20 years since the first X-Men film back in 2000, when Mane played the role of the long-haired, long-clawed mutant, and his return here in the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn't disappoint. But what is the significance of Wolverine's battle with Sabretooth here? Why do they hate each other so much? Well, let's just say that these two have quite the history.

James McAvoy isn't completely opposed to revisiting the role of Professor X after some of his X-Men franchise co-stars recently made special appearances in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, the actor isn't expecting to get an offer to reprise that role anytime soon.
While McAvoy wasn't among the X-Men stars to make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, the McU's multiverse has still left the door open for a return to happen in the future. At San Diego Comic-Con, McAvoy spoke with Screen Rant about the possibility of playing Professor X again, whether that was with a multiverse cameo or even as a separate incarnation of the character. The actor hinted that he'd be intrigued by playing a different version of Professor X, so as long as the script was good, but at the same time, he feels like Marvel is looking to move away from the X-Men movie series after Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the next big installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finally bridging the long-running superhero franchise with Fox's X-Men movies. The film brings back Ryan Reynolds's iconic Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, who discovers that his world is in danger of total destruction due to the multiversal threat posed by the villainous Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin). Surprisingly, Wade turns to none other than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine for help, bringing the character back for the first time since he died in 2017's Logan. Deadpool & Wolverine brings back fan-favorite characters like Wolverine, Lady Deathstrike, and Sabretooth for an epic adventure. Ryan Reynolds promises an "impossible amount of surprises" in the film, with many more returning characters to be revealed. The film is the first R-rated MCU movie and highly anticipated, with a steady stream of leaks teasing exciting plot details.
Deadpool & Wolverine has already revealed more surprise cameos and story details than most MCU movies deliver in total, but it seems that has only started to scrape the surface. The movie will arrive in theaters in two short weeks, and it stands as the most hotly-anticipated project of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in recent memory. A big part of retaining that hot anticipation comes down to the relentless marketing from Ryan Reynolds...and the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.
As revealed in a steady stream of leaks, though, Jackman's Logan isn't...

The McU's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine may feature a dark Hulk appearance in the Void at the End of Time. Hulk's possible cameo could be a variant of Sakaar's Gladiator Hulk who becomes a version of The Maestro in the Void. Any version of the Hulk would be very exciting for the upcoming MCU multiverse movie.
A new theory for Deadpool & Wolverine teases that one of the darkest versions of the Hulk could make an appearance in the upcoming MCU movie. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine promises to be an epic multiversal adventure as Wade Wilson finally joins forces with Logan. However, it's also possible that the duo could end up facing a brand-new version of Bruce Banner's Hulk.
While plot details are slim, Deadpool & Wolverine is set to be focused on Wade Wilson's recruitment by the Tva, while also seeking out Wolverine's help to save his universe.

Deadpool & Wolverine trailers feature Tyler Mane's Sabretooth from Fox's first X-Men trilogy. The multiverse could allow for both Sabretooth actors to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, as variants from separate timelines. Liev Schrieber's Sabretooth from X-Men Origins could also make a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, adding an homage to the true film beginnings of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, while also providing another exciting rematch for Jackman's Wolverine.
Trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine have confirmed a major appearance from Sabretooth, a significant rival of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine from Fox's initial X-Men trilogy. However, I'd still really like to see the other Sabretooth make an appearance in the upcoming MCU as well. After all, there were two different actors to play the mutant villain on-screen, and the other one was just as exciting and dynamic.

Deadpool & Wolverine is going to bring back a slew of X-Men franchise stars in addition to Hugh Jackman, who returns once again as Wolverine. Among the other X-Men actors to come back is Aaron Stanford, who reprises his X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand role as Pyro.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Stanford commented on his return as Pyro in Deadpool & Wolverine. His return will see him playing the character for the first time in 18 years, and it came with a chance to upgrade his Pyro costume. The actor went on to explain how the character was "shortchanged" with his look in the previous films, and that makes him all the more excited to finally don an actual superhero costume for the upcoming movie, including Pyro's trademark goggles.

Deadpool & Wolverine reunites Hugh Jackman's Wolverine with Tyler Mane's Sabretooth, mirroring classic comic book moments. Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth from X-Men Origins: Wolverine doesn't fit the film's timeline, making Mane's version more suitable. Deadpool & Wolverine features numerous comic book cameos, with the film set to release on July 26, 2024.
Deadpool & Wolverine will finally see Wade Wilson and Logan together on screen, but there's another major reunion with an unexpected actor swap. Fox was the driving force behind live-action X-Men movies for roughly two decades. In 2000, the studio released X-Men, which exploded in popularity, and introduced the world to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, which would become the most recognizable and well-loved version of the character.
In that same movie, the superhero team of mutants was introduced, and the rivals that they would face off against, led by Ian McKellan's Magneto. While Magneto served as the primary rival to Professor Charles Xavier,...

The rematch over two decades in the making is coming soon! Sure, it was spoiled months ago, but now we finally have an official clip of Logan facing off against Sabretooth in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The more comic book-accurate Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will go toe-to-toe with Tyler Mane’s version of Sabretooth from the first X-Men live-action film. Sadly, leaked photos from the set already spoiled the outcome, but let’s hope the battle is just as vicious as what we’ve seen in the older issues of the Wolverine books.
Sabretooth’s original on-screen appearance debuted in 2000’s X-Men, which was a little disappointing. While Mane did capture the look and ferocity of the comic book version of Victor Creed, he never had a proper showdown with Wolverine. Heck, the years of history the two shared in print were never even hinted at in the Fox trilogy.
The bond...
