Burke, McRaney going for 'Broke' in Lifetime movie
Real-life husband and wife Delta Burke and Gerald McRaney are teaming for a Lifetime original movie tentatively titled Going Broke. Based on a true story, the film centers on a working mother and wife (Burke) who, soon after moving to Reno, Nev., with her husband (McRaney) and two kids to run the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, finds herself hooked on gambling and ends up embezzling more than $100,000 from the chapter to pay off her debts. Broke reunites Burke with Lifetime after starring in the cable network's 2001 telefilm Dangerous Child. "We are thrilled to be working with Delta again and very excited to have Gerald on board as well," said Trevor Walton, Lifetime's senior vp original movies. "This is a gripping story, and the natural chemistry between Delta and Gerald will add another exciting dimension." Burke and McRaney co-starred together in the telefilms Simon & Simon: In Trouble Again, Where the Hell's That Gold?!!? and Love and Curses ... And All That Jazz and the feature Hansel & Gretel. Both Burke and McRaney have booked pilots this season, with Burke toplining the WB Network's Sweet Potato Queens and McRaney co-starring in ABC's untitled Dan Finnerty comedy pilot. Burke is repped by WMA and Incognito Management. McRaney is repped by Stone Manners.
