Le pantalon is based on the true story of Lucien Bersot who was sentenced to death and who has been rehalitated by the Supreme Court on july 23rd 1923: his name has been added in the momument of the died soldiers in Authoison (Haute-Saone).Alain Scoff wrote the novel "Le Pantalon" about the tremendous event during the world war one in France.
The director of the film is Yves Boissset: I have seen three of his films: Un condé (1970), Folle à tuer (1975) and Le juge Fayard dit le shériff (1977) !! And now Le Pantalon (1997), a very good film about injustice during the war.Last comment: I didn't know the main actor, Wadeck Stanczak, his performance as Lucien Bersot is excellent.I saw him later en a crime story called "Brigade des mineurs (1999) of Michaella Watteaux.
