Loved it.

I saw this movie at the San Diego Film Festival and was touched by it. I thought it was well directed and well acted. I may not be a bonafide movie critic, but when a movie makes me laugh, cry and feel compassion for the characters, I chalk it up to time well spent and a great movie. Especially for a first time producer. I want to own a copy!

Mothers and Daughters (2002)

I saw this film in San Diego at a film festival. This was a film that should have never left the editing room. I, for the life of me, will never understand what intent this film had in mind. It certainly wasn't "camp" or a twisted black comedy. At times it tried being serious and just tripped over its own rubbish. The actors seemed like rejects from porno films; I've seen high school amateurs performing more believable than the actors in this film.

It was an embarrassment to have to sit in the dark, in disbelief for nearly a couple of hours with friends, enduring this painful and ugly attempt at filmmaking.

Unique and touching

I saw this movie at a Women in Film screening and loved it. It was funny, sad, quirky and touching. It really captured the relationship daughters have with their mothers and vice versa. It makes you realize that even if you don't have the "perfect family" there is definetely a bond between moms and their daughters that is unique and special. I went right home and called my mom.

great character driven dramedy

A story of life, happiness, sadness, and love, featuring wonderful performances by all of the lead woman: Sally Kirkland, Sheri Hellard, and Heidi Marnhout. Hellard plays Pricilla who just might be having the worst day of her life. She is amazing in this role. Her performance so touched me that I thought about it for days after seeing the film. Sally Kirkland plays her wacky mom who never gave Pricilla the love she needed. I also loved Kirkland in this role. It's the best thing I've seen her do since Anna. She really runs the gamut of emotions and has one speech in particular that is heartbreaking and she plays it perfectly. Heidi Marnhout is adorable as Pricilla's daughter Wendy who is fighting between being a little girl and a grown woman. Marnhout is a true talent.

I got involved with each character and loved these quirky woman. This was an intelligent gutsy movie that blended humor with the harsh realities of life.
